| White House Press Secretary Jay Carney placed the blame for the $16.4 trillion national debt on Congress, as he again asserted that President Barack Obama will not negotiate on raising the debt ceiling. “Nobody forced Congress to rack up the bills that it incurred,” Carney told reporters on Monday. “And it is an abdication of responsibility to say we’re going to let the country default and cause global economic calamity simply because we’re not getting what we want in terms of our ideological agenda.” The national debt has increased by $5 trillion since Obama took office in 2009.

Of course it´s not Obama´s fault for the massive spending. He´s only spending $1.2 trillion more than we collect in taxes because Congress allows him to do so. If someone had said "Whoa, BO, we don´t have the money for that" he would never have spent so much. But no one in the House or Senate, except the cold-hearted Republicans, objected to the $74 billion wasted on "green" energy or the $2.3 trillion for Obamacare. Hey, if Congress gives Obama a stack of blank checks, of course he´s going to use them. It´s your job to balance the checkbook, not his. Besides, you know how he despises Boehner, Cantor and the rest of those GOP cheap skates who prattle on about future generations.

The lying Carney is a perfect shill for a lying administration.
The spending levels are based on the 2009-2010 levels rammed through in the middle of the night by the 0blamer/Reid?Pelosi cabal.
They have remained at that level because the democrats led by 0blamer and Reid will not pass a budget,thus forcing spending at that baseline plus inflation on a continuing resolution.
The result is ever increasing government.
The only solution seems to be forcing a government shut down until a budget is passed.Taking the issue to the democrat courts is not the answer.

Basically to elaborate on poster #10´s remarks, the Trillion dollars of 2009 "stimulus" spending has been recycled each year through the absence of a federal budget and the reliance upon continuing resolutions each year to carry on federal spending. In essence this means that the recycled stimulus has failed to stimulate any damn thing for four years in a row. If spending was referenced to the pre-Obama baseline the annual deficit would be about 200 Billion dollars. It is truly staggeringly mindboggling that nobody, and I mean not a single soul that is an elected GOP officeholder in the US House or Senate, ever has made this point in arguing for spending sanity. It really isn´t an esoteric concept. Even the low-info types should be able to grasp it.

The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
