Framing the Issues

| The Democrats are playing a strategic game to recover the House in 2014. They are playing to win, and they are playing well. They are keeping the Republicans constantly on defense, not allowing them to frame the issues in ways which are clearly understandable to the American people and that show that Republicans are acting in the best interest of the American people.

We are going to see a GOP train wreck in 2014. They are simply incapable of controlling the message. The CrapMedia is already on board with the WH and will hammer home the Obama narrative. Expect more presidential giveaways between now and Nov. 2014. Obama will use the latest tax increase to buy more votes and further sink any chance for GOP advancement. In fact, it doesn`t even matter if the dems retake the House. They will get what they want anyway and blame any fallout on the GOP.
Works e-v-e-r-y time.

The bomb-throwing Left will soon wear out their welcome.
Tactics cannot obscure the devastation of Obamacare´s reach in 2014. Tactics do not obliterate higher taxes, nor the wretched economy, etc.
Bamster goes down in 2014. Sayonara.

Let me help: Step one: marginalize the people clamoring for a third party. Happily show them the door. Step Two: focus on creating economic opportunity rather than budget cuts. Cuts are necessary, but the GOP doesn´t have the votes in Congress or in the White House to get it done and budget cuts are very unpopular. Step three: be nice to Obama. Treat him like you would any other president elected twice. This will drive his base insane and they will start clamoring for more unpopular positions like cap and trade. Step four: offer to trade debt ceiling hikes for expanded drilling on public lands, keystone approval and other measures that will improve economic conditions. Rhetorically denounce tax hikes not as "socialism" but rather as harmful to economic growth. Ask voters: do tax hikes create or destroy economic activity? Then, in these tough economic times, do you want more or less economic activity? Step five: stop hiding on Fox News and talk radio and go on the lib shows and beat their ideas to a pulp. It can be done. Step six: reelect Michael Steele Chairman of the GOP. Dump Mitch McConnell.

They will not be caught sitting on the front porch in 2014. They´ll employ the massive get out the vote, legit and not.
We need to be active in our home States, town, State-wide. The Dem/Lefties are clever at dispiriting their opponents. Some on our side too easily fold, quit. So the Lefties figure what worked before will work again.
This goes back to the TEA Party article, as that group completely surprised the Lefties. They, however, do not turn on each other. Note how almost every pundit on our side turned the knives on Repubs.
Like one of the Lefties´ favorites, Lenin, BO will have NO factionalism. You will not hear any criticism from anyone on the Dem/Left side... no... matter... what. They are totally united against Republicans (of every stripe, it doesn´t matter).
You will NEVER hear Dems talk about splitting off to a "third party" or staying home on election day.
We must learn from our political enemies.

It is difficult to frame a message when the LSM won´t even give you a chance to speak it. There have been conservatives who have held news conferences and made media statements that did explain the situation -- and those went nowhere, most never even getting airtime.
#5´s suggestion of going on liberal media and at least getting to an audience has merit. But it has to be an extremely well prepared person who can go on those shows and not get trounced. The conservative will almost always win on logic, numbers, and facts -- but he/she will only have a single shot before getting shut down by the host if it looks like the argument is going to stick. Once it appears that the conservative is getting a point across, most of the LSM shows will interrupt and then shout down the conservative or attack with irrelevant emotional responses. It can be done, but be prepared to take a beating and only get 1 or 2 points made per show.

Or, #7, the media might let the Republicans talk, but will always cast what they say in a negative light. You just won´t ever get them on your side.

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

What Americans say in public about same-sex marriage isn´t necessarily a good barometer of public opinion, because, if we´re going to be honest, there´s a huge discrepancy between the opinions that Americans express in polls and the opinions they express at the polls.(snip)It´s important for Americans to understand that the same-sex marriage campaign is about the disenfranchisement of dissenters, not empowerment. The protests, the social media memes, the entire agenda is about demonizing opponents of same-sex marriage

Before America embarks on changing the concept of marriage, I hope they will at least agree on examining cultures that do not define marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. In their eagerness to achieve their goals, the pro gay marriage enthusiasts are marching towards what they perceive as progress and modernity while ignoring lessons from other cultures, history, basic human nature and the horrific and negative unintended consequences of redefining "marriage". Islam´s definition of marriage is one man and up to four women

During the highly publicized exchange between Bill O´Reilly and Laura Ingraham on gay marriage, O´Reilly made this statement: "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, ´I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.´ You don´t win a policy debate in America with that." Really? Before central control out of Washington was imposed in 2003, policy arguments for criminalizing homosexual acts were won explicitly "with that." And because of "that," the idea of gay marriage has been unthinkable throughout the history of the American nation.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

During his two day flurry of fundraising in Northern California, the President of the United States took it upon himself (and allow to be released to the public - not all of his fundraising comments make it to the masses) to praise the attractiveness of Kamala Harris, California Attorney General (snip) The remark, predictably, generated a little of what Allahpundit called a ´Blue on blue food fight." We have already seen Peak Obama; from here on, it´s going to get rougher and rougher for Barack Obama. Even worse, the one word he must fear the most has just been uttered by a man regarded as a bit of a truth-teller among liberal elites. Joe Klein, the celebrated author "Anonymous," who wrote the best selling, truth-telling book Primary Colors about the 1992 primary campaign that brought us President Bill Clinton, has made it ok for liberals to apply the word "incompetence" to the Obama administration. This represents something of a breakthrough. Until now, it has been taboo

The CEO of Starbucks basically told a shareholder that if the shareholder believes in traditional marriage he should dump his Starbucks stock. Historically the job of the CEO has been to make money and increase shareholder value. It would seem telling people who don´t share the CEO´s personal beliefs, whether it´s gay marriage or abortion, to dump the companies stock is not a pro-shareholder action. This is another example of the liberal belief that everything belongs to liberals because they´re just so darn much smarter than the rest of us

News is breaking out all over: global warming stopped 20 years ago. A political earthquake has resulted from a feature story in the Economist magazine because the Economist used to be a consistent cheerleader for global warming activism. Doubts about global warming used to be censored by its London editors, one reporter confided to Stephen Hayward. So what will voters do to Democrat candidates in 2014 and 2016 when the former realize that the Democratic Party was lying to them? Is it time to run away from the issue for Democrats, journalists, and Hollywood personalities?

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
