The 19-year-old son of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul was charged with underage drinking and disorderly conduct after being arrested over the weekend at North Carolina´s Charlotte Douglas International Airport, authorities said. William Hilton Paul was arrested Saturday following a flight from Kentucky to North Carolina, according to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff´s Office in Charlotte.(Snip) The senator´s office released a statement calling the issue a private family matter. "Sen. Paul is a national public figure and subject to scrutiny in the public arena, however, as many parents with teenagers would understand, his family should be afforded the privacy

Yes, but the timing is suspicious to me. There were articles just this morning touting a potential Rand Paul presidential run. What a coincidence that his son gets arrested (was TSA involved?) the very same day.

Not saying his son wasn´t drinking under age on the plane, but who ratted him out? The airline that broke the law and served him? TSA?

All very strange to me...

This is a non-issue. If CNN wants to sling mud as opposed to being political, they could have gone after Gore Jr or any one of the Kennedy clan. Remember when the Clintons declared Chelsea "off limits".

Shouldn´t Rand Pauls son be given the same deference Chelsea Clinton was afforded when she was caught drinking underage in college?

Oh, never mind, except that it is kind of odd that CNN didn´t identify Paul as a republican in the first sentence. The political officer must have still been on vacation to miss that ommission.

Here´s a real challenge.
If possible, find out who fathered Barack Obama, Barry Sotero, or whatever his name is.

My bet would be that the authentic birth certificate would be missing the father´s name or be noted as "unknown."

Odd how this came down, don´t you think? How long is the flight from KY to NC? Less than an hour.

I am Delta Platinum and often fly in First. Many times, you can´t get a pre-flight drink, and once airborne, they don´t serve until the flight has been underway for 15 minutes or so. Refills are slow, but I am not drinking to get inebriated, so on a Friday trip home, two drinks is my limit for a flight.

There isn´t enough time on that flight to:

1) get yourself drunk
2) cause trouble because you´re drunk

This smells like a set-up. I didn´t read where the flight crew was cited for serving a baby-faced minor alcohol.

The past couple of weeks have marked a turning point in American ugliness as the mob has turned its full fury on first lady Michelle Obama. From criticism of her trip to China to a recent “tell-all” by former White House assistant press secretary Reid Cherlin in the New Republic about Obama’s allegedly tyrannical behavior, the gloves have been removed. As described, she was a perfectionist — super-attentive to detail and laser-focused on advance planning. And this is bad because? Worse, according to a former (anonymous) staffer, there was no barometer for meeting Obama’s high standards. “The first lady having

The Clinton Library took the wraps off another batch of White House documents Friday afternoon, offering new insights into how aides scrambled to address the Monica Lewinsky scandal, how the hot-button issue of race tied the White House staff up in knots and how former President Bill Clinton cast a wide net for advice in advance of his major speeches. The new set of Clinton documents make little mention of then-first lady Hillary Clinton, and so are unlikely to have a major political impact. When atheist director and co-writer Darren Aronofsky promised that his epic "Noah" would be "the least biblical film ever made," that was not hyperbole. "Noah" is a brilliant, compelling, beautifully-mounted, beautifully-acted piece of storytelling conceived for the sinister purpose of leading people to believe that Christianity and Judaism are something they are not. (Snip) What does matter, though, is The Message. The Message is everything. And this is where Aronofsky is the snake in the garden. Using a $135 million, he and Paramount have brilliantly and deviously disguised the Pagan god Gaia as the God of the Old Testament … as THE God.
