California gun sales have risen,
gun injuries have decreased

Sacramento Bee, by Phillip Reese and Cynthia Hubert

California has millions more guns than it did 10 years ago. It also has thousands fewer gun injuries and deaths each year. Those are two simple facts that, depending on whom you ask, have everything or nothing to do with each other. Last month´s horrific Connecticut school shooting has reignited the debate over gun control in California, a state with some of the nation´s strictest gun laws. State legislators will likely take up additional gun law proposals later this year, ranging from further limits on ammunition purchases to requiring regular background checks for gun owners. If recent trends hold, that

The ruling class elites have no idea on how people in this country treasure their guns.

There´s not only a fear that Obama will outlaw people´s access to guns but there may be a tine he actually starts confiscating them.

The SC has already ruled twice that I know of,once in Illinois and another in DC that people have a right to bear arms even in the strictest gun ban states.

The Founding Fathers had tremendous insight into human behavior. They knew there could come a time that corrupt bastids like the left could seize power and so they put in protections against it.

Just look at some of the things the leftists want to do.Overturn the two term president.Get rid of the filibuster in the senate.Penalize people for not buying a private product.Take spending controls out of congress´s hands and give it to the exe. branch. Giving power to unelected czars who are unaccountable to voters.

Who even knows what Holder´s job is anymore.I can´t think of anybody in the Obamasphere that´s been prosecuted. These people look the other way so much they have arthritic necks from it.

ANTIOCH, Calif. -- A quick-thinking Good Samaritan is being credited with helping police spot an AMBER Alert suspect´s car. A 7-year-old Antioch girl was found inside the car that was parked at the Antioch Marina late Friday night. Police say a possible sexual assault of the child is now part of their investigation. Because of that, AB7 News has opted not to release the name or show the victim of this crime. Leshay Burks started honking her car horn to alert police the moment she realized she may be parked next to the suspect´s car at the marina.

Washington - Rebecca M. Blank was a top candidate in 2011 to lead President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, but then the White House turned up something politically dangerous. “A commitment to economic justice necessarily implies a commitment to the redistribution of economic resources, so that the poor and the dispossessed are more fully included in the economic system,” Ms. Blank, a noted poverty researcher, wrote in 1992. With advisers wary of airing those views in a nomination fight, Mr. Obama passed over Ms. Blank, then a top Commerce Department official and now the chancellor of

Just a "tiny fraction" of Americans stand to lose their current health insurance plan and pay more for coverage under Obamacare, a new study said Thursday as concern over canceled policies remained a pressing issue for the White House. The analysis found that only 0.6 percent of people under age 65 are at risk of losing their individual plan and having to pay higher premiums for coverage approved by the Affordable Care Act, according to Families USA, the consumer health advocacy group that issued the study. Shelly Ross of San Francisco was looking forward to the opening of the new health insurance marketplaces under the Affordable Care Act because she was hoping to get a better deal. But now that she´s seen her options, Ross is disappointed. Turns out she earns slightly too much money to qualify for federal financial aid to help her buy coverage in the state´s exchange, called Covered California. And because policies have to be upgraded to comply with the new law, her rates are going up nearly 10 percent. "Every plan is going to cost more than what I pay now.

Tuesday is inspection day for building owner John Vicars. He´s got a commercial property on College Avenue, right in the heart of Oakland´s busiest shopping district. His quest is simple: to see an ice cream parlor opened on the ground floor of the building. But his journey has been a regulatory nightmare. It´s taken him nine months to prepare 1,700 square feet of retail space to the city´s satisfaction - at least to where they were satisfied enough to actually come out to inspect it. It all started in December, when Vicars forked over $3,500 for the right to apply

Britain is privatizing its Royal Mail postal service through a public stock offering within the next nine months. The step was expected as the British government has been giving the Royal Mail a big overhaul in preparation for going public, including paying its whopping $6.9 billion pension fund deficit and bolstering its profit. So far, so good. Revenue from parcel deliveries was up 13 percent in the last fiscal year, thanks to the growing popularity of online shopping. Overall profit climbed to $600.5 million, from $226.5 million in the previous year. All that success has led Moya Greene, Royal Mail´s

As the agents combed the offices of state Sen. Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The Obama administration touted 7 million sign-ups by March 31 as “success.” When that goal appeared to be unreachable, the administration suggested that maybe 5 or 6 million would be enough. Now, as if by magic, they have their number. Somehow. All along, the administration has touted false numbers of enrollees. All along, the administration has neglected to admit that Obamacare is

A few months back, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated for the record that 7 million Obamacare sign-ups by the end of March would constitute success. She was clear about it. But then February came, and February always stinks. It’s just a lousy month. You’re tired of winter, you’re still miles away from spring, and no one was signing up for Obamacare. That 7 million figure looked totally unreachable. So Sebelius does what every other member of the Obama administration does when confronted with inconvenient facts. She lied. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. ANN ARBOR, Mich. – President Obama compared the Republican budget plan to a "stinkburger" or "meanwich" during a speech here Wednesday, using a series of zingers in an attempt to strike a contrast with the GOP on economic issues in an election year. Obama, who visited the local Zingerman´s deli before the speech, said that Republican proposals to cut taxes for wealthier Americans and

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.

A new study from the Medical University of Graz in Austria finds that vegetarians are more physically active, drink less alcohol and smoke less tobacco than those who consume meat in their diets. Vegetarians also have a higher socioeconomic status and a lower body mass index. But the vegetarian diet — characterized by a low consumption of saturated fats and cholesterol that includes increased intake
