Fight for your life today
Morning Journal [Lorain, OH], by Tom Skoch

Original Article

Posted By:Harlowe, 1/6/2013 11:59:20 PM

Today is the day to fight for your life. Within weeks, proposed laws will be decided that would destroy your ability to protect your family from predators, including criminals, and, especially, the political wolves who can force you to live, or die, on their terms. Tyranny, rooted in these gun control proposals, is exactly what the Second Amendment was written to prevent. Each of us has a natural human right to keep and bear arms to preserve life and liberty. History proves that surrendering arms to the state has always been a fatal mistake for populations who disarmed.

I think Obama is taking big and brash to calm down the gun grabbing leftists like the Brady Foundation..

A responsible, registered gun owner isn´t going to go on a shooting rampage because it would hurt the 2nd amendment protections, yet these are the people they´re going after..People still drive drunk even though blood/alcohol levels have gone down and legal defense costs have gone up.In other words, laws can´t insure everybody´s saftey,no matter how well intended.

Alcohol is probably a main factor in domestic abuse cases but you´ll never see the left go after the alcohol industry, other than MADD.

The education system is intent on brainwashing kids on global warming, equal outcome, diversity and all that crap instead of a big effort to get kids to avoid the scourges of alcohol and drug. How do you go from being a binge drinker in college to being a sober member of the workforce? addictions.because they´re drunks themselves.

You didn´t see the big left get animated after well known drug addicts like Micheal Jackson,Whitney Houston saw their lives go down the tubes. Both Jackson and Houston made millions but wound up owing drug dealers and pharmacies millions of dollars.Where these teachable moments for kids? nah.

I want to know how many of these "crises" were spurred on by some anti-gun nut or organization to create a platform to push gun control. How much did psyche drugs contribute. No hard evidence yet, but the veil is getting thinner by the day.

Progressives takes lessons
from ‘Downton Abbey’
Washington Post, by George F. Will    Original Article

Many “Downton Abbey” watchers are nostalgia gluttons who grieved when Lord Grantham lost his fortune in Canadian railroad shares. There are, however, a discerning few whose admirable American sensibilities caused them to rejoice at Grantham’s loss: “Now perhaps this amiable but dilettantish toff will get off his duff and get a job.” This drama’s verisimilitude extends to emphasizing that his lordship had a fortune to squander only because he married an American heiress. By battening on what they disdained, this republic’s commercial culture, many British aristocrats could live beyond their inherited means — actual work being, of course, unthinkable.

Ohio wind turbine project

TOLEDO, Ohio - A group of birding enthusiasts hopes a decision to halt plans for a wind turbine at an Ohio National Guard base will send a message to developers proposing other wind power projects along Lake Erie. Federal officials sent notice this past week that they are pulling back from building the proposed wind turbine just weeks after two organizations threatened to take legal action. The American Bird Conservancy and the Black Swamp Bird Observatory argued that the wind turbine would endanger migrating birds and bald eagles while also violating several federal laws designed to protect those birds.

Democratic senators to file amicus brief

Yahoo News, by Liz Goodwin    Original Article

In a brief to be filed with the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday, 19 Democratic senators are siding with the Obama administration against evangelical Christian businessmen who argue that paying for their employees’ birth control, a requirement under Obamacare, violates their company’s religious freedom. The senators—five of them women—argue in their “friend of the court” brief that the owners of the Oklahoma-based crafts store chain Hobby Lobby are not exempt from the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate simply because some forms of birth control offend their religious beliefs.

Let´s get a few things straight about what Phil Robertson said that got him in trouble. Defenses of Robertson, the star of "Duck Dynasty" suspended for his remarks in an interview with GQ, have focused on the idea that he was just crudely expressing the sincere, Christian view that homosexuality is sinful. (Snip) Robertson´s defenders should read his comments again, because their defenses are off-point. If you´re defending Robertson, here´s what you´re defending: 1. Robertson thinks black Americans were treated just fine in the Jim Crow-era South, and that they were happy there. 2.Robertson thinks the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor

Now the network has plans to re-air the three-hour production on Saturday at 8 p.m. "The Sound of Music Live" originally aired on Thursday and was a huge success for the network, which took a risk with a live broadcast of a musical that's been around since 1959. The first airing had a total audience of 18.6 million viewers, which outperformed the network's expectations.

The University of Notre Dame must provide birth control to employees and students after a federal appeals court ruled Friday, a move the school says will force it to violate its religious beliefs. In a blow to religious colleges and universities across the country, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago denied Notre Dame´s request for an injunction to the ObamaCare birth control mandate that requires the school to provide coverage for contraception. The injunction would have given Notre Dame a temporary reprieve from the birth control mandate, as the Roman Catholic school challenges the rule in court.
