| MIAMI -- Around 7:30 p.m. ET on Jan. 3, 2012, DeAndra Chapman wrote the following message on a CaringBridge page, a website that was providing family and friends with updates on the condition of her ailing 3-year-old daughter: It is with an overwhelmingly heavy heart that I type this status. Today, after a seizure, Starla left us. And after two minutes of chest compressions she was revived. We later found that another ECHO showed even more decreased heart function than before. She is now on life support and we need a miracle!!!!!!

On the night Starla was diagnosed with leukemia in September 2011, and the day before she would begin grueling chemotherapy treatments, the little girl told her noticeably concerned parents, "Just trust."
Wow.
Many Catholics pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, a devotional centered around the words: Jesus, I trust in you. This little girl understood this concept of deep faith at only three years of age! What a miraculous story! I will certainly pray for her, and I hope many more do. I will remember her words when I think of her: Just trust.

"Just trust", from the heart and lips of that baby to comfort her parents made me cry.

I´ve been following Starla´s story for over a year. I remember the horror I felt when I read that update on Jan 3, 2011.. and the weeks of echocardiograms that showed her heart function very slowly but consistently returning, against all odds and could only be classed as a miracle. AJ has been wonderful to this little girl, and another one, Emma Perkins, who is treated at the same hospital for a different form of Leukemia, and is now, also, in remission. God Bless AJ. And no matter what the future holds I will always be in awe of this little one´s miraculous recovery...and the miracles this family,and Emma´s too, have received.

Not everyone will have to abide by Senator Dianne Feinstein´s gun control bill. If the proposed legislation becomes law, government officials and others will be exempt. "Mrs. Feinstein´s measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel," the Washington Times reports. The Huffington Post confirms these exemptions, and adds that guns owned prior to the legislation becoming law will be permissible, too.

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
