Welfare recipients ‘missing’
Boston Herald, by John Zaremba

Red-faced state officials admitted last night they are trying to find as many as 19,000 missing welfare recipients — after the controversial taxpayer-funded voter registration pitches the state mailed to their addresses last summer were sent back marked “Return to sender, address unknown.” The Department of Transitional Assistance contacted 477,000 welfare recipients who were on their books from June 1, 2011, to May 31, 2012, after settling a voter-rights lawsuit brought by Democratic-leaning activist groups that demanded an aggressive voter information effort by the state. That $274,000 push by DTA resulted in 31,000 new voter registrations — but revealed

If that newspaper in New York that published the names of good citizens, the registered gun owners, would publish the names of welfare recipients it might do good by saving the state a lot of money.

Many welfare recipients, I am told on good authority, have multiple names, multiple IDs, and multiple addresses.
Back in the 1980s, NYC took a good look at welfare recipients, and discovered that there were more children on welfare in NYC than there were children in NYC. Baby mommas would borrow friends´ chillun to take to the welfare office.
And Judge Judy is doing some cases where chillun are being put on more than one tax return to generate that earned income tax credit.

So now that I have chatted with my MA family there seems to be no fight left in them. They don´t care that Barney Frank wants to be their next Senator. They don´t seem concerned their taxes are being sucked into a padded Welfare System full of illegals(like Obama´s relatives) and the fact that many collect checks while working" under the table". I get so discouraged after speaking with them. It seems they just keep their heads in the sand waiting to be rescued. Oh well, guess the old ghosts of ´73 have fled the Bay State.

President Barack Obama has invited Angela Merkel to Washington in an attempt to settle the row over the bugging of her mobile phone by the US National Security Agency. The US president made the invitation to the German chancellor as he called to wish her a speedy recovery from a recent skiing injury. Mrs. Merkel´s office said she would accept the invitation, but did not confirm a date. Revelations last year that Mrs Merkel´s phone had been tapped by the Agency triggered a furious reaction from the German leader. Robert Gates’s tenure running the Pentagon might go down as the greatest performance in acting history. On the outside, he was an even-keeled, plain-speaking former college president, one who declared to Congress he hadn’t returned to Washington to be a “bump on a log.” He cleaned house at the Air Force after an embarrassing nuclear weapons scandal and, most of all, righted the course of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan — as much as any secretary of defense could. On the inside, according to an early copy of Gates’s new memoir obtained by POLITICO, he was apparently hating every minute of

Maximum emissions would be reduced by one-third next year and by 80 percent in five years, the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported. Fine particulate pollution is made up of solid particles and liquid droplets that measure 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less. The EPA currently certifies non-catalytic wood stoves if they produce less than 7.5 grams of fine particulate per hour. Fine particulate absorbed by breathing has
