Trenton — A Linden man pleaded guilty today to various weapons charges for selling two assault rifles, an assault pistol and a revolver to an undercover detective and an informant, the state Attorney General´s Office said. Andre Doss, 31, also admitted to conspiracy to distribute various illegal drugs, the office said in a news release. Prosecutors will recommend Doss be sentenced to 10 years in prison, including five years of parole ineligibility. Sentencing is set for April 15. Doss admitted that in July and August 2011, he arranged, and with the help of co-defendant Duquan Wells,

Look what the penalties are for selling full-auto weapons and drugs in "tough on guns" New Jersey, then ask why they want to take away weapons from the law-abiding.

This is an illustrative incident where Criminalizing Crime would be a greater deterrent than Criminalizing a gun. Five years??? good thing he didn´t get caught with a pastry in his pants, He could be in REAL trouble. Check the Murder rate in Illinois´ 2nd largest city,-0-, zilch, none. The difference? It´s not gun control Laws. It´s prosecutions of targeted crime in targeted places...the BAD part of town.(and a much more Republican Electorate)

Well, in the interest of accuracy I guess I should point out that the WWII German submachine gun often called the "Schmeisser", the MP40, actually was called a "machine pistol" (that´s what the "MP" stood for, "Maschinenpistole"). So in the case of a Mac-11, if it was full-auto, "assault pistol" may not be that far off the mark. My guess, however, is that Christopher knows nothing about that, and is just widening the "assault weapon" net even further.

Parole ineligibility for 5 years on a 10 year sentence?

What he meant to say was that he´s eligible for parole in 5 years.

So they give his buddy 3 years and him 5 and they are out on the street and back in business in no time.

This is for selling a MACHINE GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Selling gun is a crime. So is this "....antiques dealer David Place, who was sentenced in 2011 to nearly three years in prison for importing and trafficking in sperm whale teeth and narwhal tusks worth up to $400,000."

Now that´s tough on crime.

Trenton — A new effort is underway in the state Legislature to allow unauthorized immigrants to legally drive in New Jersey, setting up what could be the next state debate over immigration policy. Under the measure, New Jersey would be required to issue photo “driving privilege” cards to residents who could not prove that they were in this country legally but were able to show they lived in the state. “It’s about public safety,” said state Sen. The Boston public school system, as it prepared to make condoms available to students at all its high schools last fall, received what seemed like the perfect donation from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health: 40,000 free condoms. But now the system is pulling the donated contraceptives from its schools after some parents raised questions about whether the messages and images on the wrappers are appropriate for teenagers, even as they voiced support for the condom-distribution policy. The wrappers featured such messages as “One lucky lady,” “hump one,” and “tasty one,” which was accompanied by picture of a shark preying

One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey
