Take all the pork out and then consider.

Has anyone bothered to tell all these people who need help that the bill includes everything under the sun besides help for them?

Hey who cares about the wasteful pork? It´s not there money that is being wasted afterall.

This is Chris Christie "laying the ground work" for his Democrat Party announcement, and his pathetic sop for us to pay for his corrupt and unprepared state´s problems.

I can´t stand Boehner, but he was right on this one. Then again, typical of Boehner, he was a eunuch when it came to explaining why he was right, something he never can do worth a rip.

Blowhard Christie used the American taxpayer as a pawn in his rant.

The reaction of the NE Republicans is a perfect example of what is wrong with Repub members of Congress. I´m no fan of Boehner´s but he was right, but now he has caved. As far as Christie, he is beginning to sound more and more like a small child who throws tantrums when he doesn´t get his way.

Please notice that the individual(s) that stuffed the pork in the bill is not identified. Who in the hell thought it was a good idea to contaminate the legislative vehicle intended to help those people in drastic need with their petty, unrelated, scratch-my-back, garbage projects? If Congress would man-up and identify these culprits by name, it would stop. But, of course, they won´t - if they do, they´ll be named next time they do the stuffing.

Lawmakers stick the pork in these emergency funding bills because of the urgency factor. Those who do this kind of thing are the ones the GOP should excoriate, not Boehner. Gov. Christie never wastes a chance to shoot off his mouth.

The rush is to slide through the pork. Nothing more. These jobs are not shovel ready. Of this $60 Billion, only about $2 Billion to $4 Billion will be spent in the next six months. If this money is audited 36 months from now, the scandal would be breathtaking. It will be in the pipeline but I expect nothing controls how it´s spent. Our Tea Party is in the process of stopping garbage like this at the County Level. Others should do likewise. Get involved.

Hey, Sandy victims: direct your anger to the appropriate target. Those politicians that are still practicing the pork barrel politics of the past should be named and evicerated. We have to stop the madness sometime. This is as good, or better, a time as any. NO FUNDS UNTIL ALL PORK IS REMOVED!

Note to congress
Do us all a big favor and vote down this Porkulous 2013 bill. We are still paying for the 0blamer Porkulous 2009 bill.

It still amazes me that Boehner could make such an elementary blunder. All the complaining in the world about what the public SHOULD think can never change the image of business-as-usual heartlessness resulting from delaying action on the Sandy relief bill. It should have been a top priority. Boehner stumbled badly on this. I am beginning to wonder if he is the man for the times. This is a small misstep, but it is such an incredible, avoidable, wholly unnecessary black eye that it does raise some concerns about his leadership.

Politics is about perception. The perception is now that Boehner and, by extension, the Republicans "don´t care" about victims of hurricane Sandy. We know this is not true. We know that the bill was deliberately porked up, no doubt in part to lay precisely this kind of trap for Republicans. Boehner walked right into it. I don´t understand how a professional politician with decades of experience would not have had more foresight than this.

Not only will Boehner be reelected Speaker, but the Sandy legislation will grow from 60 to 80 billion dollars.

Did those people not have insurance? Why are the taxpayers having to restore their normalcy? What have they done to help themselves? Just curious. I´ve been thru a hurricane and we weren´t still living in a car 66 days later.

I´d make a bet that most didn´t have "flood" insurance. I believe that flood insurance is a federal program that must be purchased separately.
