2013? Poll finds Americans
weary and wary

USA Today, by Susan Page

PITTSBURGH — Remember that wave of optimism and good feeling that typically greets a presidential inauguration, not to mention a new year? This time, it´s hard to find. Battered by an economy that is only slow recovering — and soured by the spectacle of Washington dysfunction in the "fiscal cliff" debate — views of the nation´s future and its fundamental promise have darkened in the four years since Barack Obama´s first inauguration. Then, even during an unfolding financial crisis, Americans believed by a double-digit margin that it was likely young people would have a better life

Gotta laugh at the unabashed BS from the social worker about racial slurs at her kid´s school and how Obama would be treated better if he were White. Is she stupid enough to think Obama would have even been considered for the White House if he were not black?

Americans need to express their loathing of this Marxist traitor and loudly demonstrating it during his sickening inauguration--where the LSM cannot ignore it--would be a good start.

Then find a leader who will bring that message home every day going forward.

In the run-up to the inaugural, we´ll have to find alternatives to TV and cable news and specials with all the boot*-licking press will be doing to see how close they can get to Obama.

Netflix will become my new best friend. (*the other word would stick in the filter).

Was immediately turned off by the illogic of the large "predictions" graphic at the top.

It is not balanced. The pros and cons are all mixed up.

I for one am NOT looking forward to the inauguration. Saw those govt workers sawing and hammering away on that temporary structure...for what?? What a waste of money, in a time like this. To say nothing of the excess of that Hawaiian "tradition" that sprung up after The Won got his hands on the US checkbook.

Next year we get the best revenge...
We vote in the midterm elections.

The sixth year of a presidency is traditionally bad news for the prez.
Expect his party to lose seats in Congress...
both in the House and Senate.

Bamster´s popularity has nowhere to go now but down.
Happens to every second-termer.

He will be hated.
The taxes and unemployment and health care mess will drive Americans nuts.
Buyer´s remorse is long overdue...
and will set in at some point.

Buh-Bye, Bamster!
Greet your upcoming Lame Duck Status with that snarky wink, whydoncha... ?

WASHINGTON — More than half of Americans have no idea who the Koch Brothers are, according to a new poll released Tuesday morning. Democrats have spent a large amount of time in the last few weeks posturing Charles and David Koch, the billionaire oil tycoons who donate significant amounts of money to conservative causes and candidates, as the sort of bogeyman of the Republican Party. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid even blamed them in part for Russia annexing Crimea. But according to a new bipartisan George Washington University Battleground Poll, that strategy may be less than fruitful. The poll shows 52% of

Behold one of the most chronically misinformed members of the US Senate surprising utterly no one with the extent of her insight into the Hobby Lobby case. Barbara Boxer appeared on MSNBC this morning to declare her support for the HHS contraception mandate, claiming at one point that it protects the religious freedom of employees. As Twitchy captured in this segment, Boxer then goes on to challenge Hobby Lobby’s owners for hypocrisy for not opposing insurance coverage of Viagra for men … which even flummoxes Boxer’s MSNBC interviewer:

Filed for bankruptcy in the past six months? Had medical bills you couldn’t pay in the past two years? Been a victim of domestic violence? Received a shut-off notice from a utility company? If you don’t want to buy insurance under Obamacare, you don’t have to. No penalty. The individual mandate may be the most despised part of Obamacare, but the reality is that it’s much smaller than people think. It’s riddled with exemptions, hardships and other loopholes that allow millions of people off the hook for enrollment by March 31. Some exceptions are part of the law. Some were added

Prescription drugs: Harder to get in O-Care?

ObamaCare participants are twice as likely to face administrative barriers to using certain prescription drugs as people who receive health coverage through an employer, according to a new analysis. The research from consulting firm Avalere Health points to a little-known facet of policies on the ObamaCare exchanges known as "utilization management controls." The controls allow insurance companies to limit access to certain medications to try and control costs and prevent abuse. People who enroll in ObamaCare plans are likely to encounter the hurdles if they´re prescribed brand-name cancer or mental health drugs, Avalere found. Most people (53 percent) now disapprove of Obamacare, compared with 41 percent who approve. Indeed, just a week before the deadline to buy health insurance on the Obamacare exchanges, opposition to the law is as high as the annual cap on out-of-pocket expenses for a family plan at the Bronze level. The bigger problem? Many uninsured people have no idea what that last sentence means. For a new study released today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers asked 3,414 Americans a battery of questions about Obamacare. Since most people get health insurance through work, they also

A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company

The Supreme Court was hearing arguments Tuesday in a landmark religion-based legal challenge from family-owned companies that object to covering certain contraceptives in their health plans under ObamaCare. The case challenges the health care law´s so-called "contraceptive mandate," which requires employers to offer health plans with a range of services at no extra charge, including all forms of birth control for women that have been approved by federal regulators. Some of the nearly 50 businesses that have sued over covering contraceptives object to paying for all forms of birth control. But the companies involved in the high court case are willing to

President Obama is unwilling to engage militarily in Syria. Assad’s butchery has not moved him, nor have the 150,000 deaths produced thus far by the civil war. When Assad and his Hezbollah/Iran backers crossed the “red line” by using chemical weapons, Obama punted. He has even been unwilling to provide meaningful assistance to Assad’s non-radical opponents. In Iraq, Obama opted for a total U.S. pullout. He appears poised for a similar pullout in Afghanistan, which would mean abandoning those Afghans who put their life on the line to support his surge. In addition, Obama has thus far turned down requests for arms

The Roosevelt administration once talked loudly of pivoting to Asia to thwart a rising Japan. As a token of its seriousness, in May 1940 it moved the home port of the Seventh Fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor — but without beefing up the fleet’s strength. The then-commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral James O. Richardson, an expert on the Japanese Imperial Navy, protested vehemently over such a reckless redeployment. He felt that the move might invite, but could not guard against, surprise attack. Richardson was eventually relieved of his command and his career was ruined — even as he was

Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
