President Obama Returns
to Hawaii Vacation
Post-Cliff Deal

ABC News, by Devin Dwyer

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 1/2/2013 1:42:17 AM

Less than an hour after Congress and the White House resolved the fiscal cliff, President Obama boarded Air Force One to return to his planned Hawaiian holiday vacation. He boarded the plane at Joint Base Andrews in Camp Springs, Md., shortly before midnight Wednesday following a New Year’s Day of political drama on Capitol Hill. The 10-hour overnight flight was scheduled to arrive in Oahu around 5 a.m. local time Wednesday when he will reunite with First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia, who have been vacationing there since just before Christmas.

Too bad the deal didn´t cut all funding for Air Force 1. That would have been sweet to see him go through airport security like the rest of us as he takes multiple hops in coach class red-eye flights to get back to his multi-millin dollar, tax-payer funded vacay.

Other than wasting a LOT of jet fuel, why exactly did 0bama leave Hawaii in the first place? It´s not like he helped things along...he could have given arrogant interviews from Hawaii.

Found out over the holidays that more relatives than I thought had voted for this poseur. Depressing. Very depressing.

Message: Dear Leader cares, he really cares. So much caring. He flew all the way to DC just to help people. Those greedy Republicans caved under the weight of his massive leadership skills, and now the nation is once again saved from their meanness and ignorance. Dear Leader saved the day, and now on the 7th day must he rest.

Dittos #4 - What was the point of Barack coming back to Washington in the first place? It´s not like he was needed there for anything. The government runs along fine without him. ValJar runs the White House, the government basically runs itself. All Barack does is cost the taxpayers more money. Maybe it would be better if he just spent his time away on permanent vacation? If spending more time with his family is apparently what he wants, putting in for early retirement would be the way for him to go.

Think “President Joe Biden.” People in the know say if you ask to see his birth certificate, he shows it to you without a moment’s hesitation. With Biden, I believe he’s pretty much a ‘what you see is what you get’ guy. With Obama, we certainly know better by now, don’t we?

Woodward also said that the former VP “pressed him on why the journalist didn’t go after Bush, who beat Gore in the 2000 presidential election, over the war in Iraq.”

CARACAS - Venezuelan opposition leader Henrique Capriles expressed outrage on Monday at the description of his supporters as "heirs of Hitler" by election rival and acting President Nicolas Maduro. The buildup to the South American OPEC nation´s April 14 vote has been characterized by highly personalized attacks between both candidates hoping to replace the late Hugo Chavez. At the weekend, Maduro compared opposition complaints about Cuban doctors working in Venezuela with the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. MOBILE, Ala. — The crippled cruise ship whose sewage-filled breakdown in the Gulf of Mexico subjected thousands to horrendous conditions tore loose Wednesday from the dock where it´s being repaired, lumbered downriver and crunched into a cargo ship. Wind gusts near hurricane strength shoved the 900-foot Carnival Triumph free from its mooring in downtown Mobile, Ala., where the ship was brought in a five-day ordeal that began when an engine fire stranded it off of Mexico in February. Hours later, four tug boats were using several mooring lines to secure the ship to a nearby pier.

At least 46 died Wednesday in and around the city of La Plata, Gov. Daniel Scioli said. Six deaths were reported a day earlier in the nation´s capital. Many people climbed onto their roofs in the pouring rain after storm sewers backed up. Water surged up through drains in their kitchen and bathroom floors, and then poured in over their windowsills.

Communist Party (PC) leader Guillermo Teillier has attracted vehement criticism from fellow politicians after admitting to authorizing a failed assassination attempt on right-wing dictator Augusto Pinochet in 1986 and defending the use of violence in certain political situations. In an interview by El Semanal published Sunday, Teillier spoke frankly about his role as leader and military chief of the Communist Party during the 1980s. Teillier described the attempt on Pinochet’s life as “a party decision” and, although it was unsuccessful, lauded it for “laying bare the weaknesses of the dictatorship”

Amid an accelerated rise in expenditure, increasing losses in state-run oil companies, and costly subsidies, Venezuela´s income is not enough for the Government, which currently faces a serious fiscal imbalance although the oil basket averages a record high of USD 103 per barrel. As a result, two devaluations have been implemented in the last five weeks so as to obtain more bolivars per petrodollars. However, it all seems that despite the significant adjustment in the foreign exchange rate, which will spur the cost of imports and therefore will hit the people, the fiscal crisis will continue.

Texas employment surged in February as employers added the most new jobs ever in a month. The Texas Workforce Commission on Friday reported 80,600 new jobs across the state. That more than made up for a slow start in January, when an upwardly revised 13,800 jobs were added. The job growth appears to be the highest monthly gain since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking such data in 1939. Texas’ unemployment rate, however, inched up to 6.4 percent, though it was still well below the U.S. rate of 7.7 percent for February. “The addition of over 80,000 jobs in a single month

It’s no secret that Egyptian slavery is as old as the pyramids. It’s also common knowledge that Barack Obama’s ancestors owned slaves. So it’s really no surprise that he helped usher in a radical Egpytian regime that is restoring slavery. According to the AP Egypt’s new constitution has dropped its ban on slavery: Omissions of certain articles, such as bans on slavery or promises to adhere to international rights treaties, were equally worrying to critics of the new draft, who pulled out from the panel before the vote. The Obama administration declined to criticize Egypt’s constitution despite its slavery clause.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
