This is exactly correct, and exactly why I have refused to give my money to the RNC for over 20 years now.

Too late. Too late. The members of the congress and the executive and getting wealthy at such a rate that they don´t dare change anything and with half the country on some sort of welfare, there´s no way conservatives can ever get a firm foothold again.

Everything Dr. Sowell said is true, but I don´t like the headline. The Republicans Deserve to Lose indicates that this is about the Republicans, as in the Republican Party. It is NOT about them. It is about US, and WE are the ones who suffer when the Republicans lose, and we do not deserve it!

I´d be interested to know how many people have changed their voter´s designation in the last four years. And how many changed in November 2012. Yet the republicans state their big plan is to be more like the dems. Go figure.

The Republicans lost because they reverted back to their Rockefeller, Country Club Republican roots, and froze out the Tea Party. After all, who needs all those scruffy, smelly working class louts in their small time jobs, and mom and pop businesses who are trying to make it on their own without a handout from Uncle Sam. All the welfare recipients are going to vote for Obama anyway, and besides, The Tea Party types are all a bunch of racist rednecks. Isn´t that what the Democrats told us? And as for Sarah Palin, don´t even go there.

I am also with Sowell as to being bothered by the fact that a simple coherent message wasn´t forthcoming from the pubs explaining our real fiscal problems. Two months from now we get spending cuts. If only we could replace just one of the so-called leaders in congress with a brilliant man like Dr. Sowell... Our only non-violent choice at this point is to keep throwing the incumbents out until we finally get some real courage and intelligence in there such as that of Paul Ryan. Problem is, the hourglass is nearing the bottom for America.

What can you say about COngress when they agree to spending cuts to raise the debt ceiling, but when time comes to implement the spending cuts, they then agree to not do the spending cuts.

Sowell is correct. And a larger point overlooked is that any party that nominates for POTUS the likes of Alf Landon, Wendell Wilkie, Dewey, Sassen, Eisenhower, Nixon, Dole, the Bush Buffoons, McCain and Doofus Romney; is most emphatically NOT a conservative party.

I don´t like the word "deserved",I lost because many voters stayed home, why? The "e" CHRISTENS wouldn´t vote for a Mormon.Others shot themselves in the foot voting agaist something not for something or some one.

I don´t think the establishment of the Republican party has been making the same mistake for years. At some point one begins to suspect deliberation and capture.

I liked Romney and disagree that he is ´hollow´. If anyone represents a hollow man it is Obama and, evidently, plenty of hollow-headed citizens are okay with that.

GOP must learn that the American voter is an ass.We must fight fire with fire and stop the Mr.Nice Guy stuff.Our Country is damn near gone because we are trying to fight by the rules when the demos never even knew there were rules.

One could almost be excused for suggesting that they actually wanted to lose the presidency in order to retain their own seats...

People started to get involved and fight back in 2010, but then we all got complacent again. We saw that some other people began to take the reins and began to fight, so we all went back to our little routine lives again. Then when the left started calling the TEA Parties bad names, more people gave up and so the few that were left began to go off in different directions and lost site of the people´s goals. Some let their heads get big with power, others started pushing other agendas, like social issues...and the focus was lost. Now we still sit on the sidelines once again and let the left think they defeated us, when in truth we defeated ourselves and we LET them win again. Yes, Romney´s campaign screwed up but we could have done more ourselves too. We can do more now...but I don´t see it happening. I think people are just accepting the mess we´re in and don´t care enough to change it.

Hopefully, Marco Rubio, who voted against the Republican debacle, will take what he has learned and apply it to his successful election in 2016. We should all be so fed up with the RINOS and Democrats that we will see the light of conservative action.
