Exclusive: Huawei partner

A major Iranian partner of Huawei Technologies offered to sell at least 1.3 million euros worth of embargoed Hewlett-Packard computer equipment to Iran´s largest mobile-phone operator in late 2010, documents show. China´s Huawei, the world´s second largest telecommunications equipment maker, says neither it nor its partner, a private company registered in Hong Kong, ultimately provided the HP products to the telecom, Mobile Telecommunication Co of Iran, known as MCI. Nevertheless, the incident provides new evidence of how Chinese companies have been willing to help Iran evade

Just one example of why Obama´s Swiss Cheese sanctions will never work on Iran.China and Russia backdoors them practically everything they need.It wouldn´t surprise me at all is US companies were doing business there also.Obama couldn´t care less about anything Iran does, whatever proposals he puts out are nothing but stalling tactics.

To me,Obama violated his own sanctions by dealing directly with the regime. He made a blurb about it a couple weeks ago to test public reaction and nothing but crickets from the media about it.

A Malaysian government official says investigators have concluded that one of the pilots or someone else with flying experience hijacked the missing Malaysia Airlines jet. (Snip) The official, who is involved in the investigation, says no motive has been established, and it is not yet clear where the plane was taken. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to brief the media. The official said that hijacking was no longer a theory. “It is conclusive.’’ The Boeing 777’s communication with the ground was severed under one hour into a flight March 8 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Classified intelligence analysis of electronic and satellite data has indicated that the missing Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight 370 likely crashed either in the Bay of Bengal or somewhere in the Indian Ocean, an exclusive report by the CNN said. (Snip) It had enough credibility for the United States to move its guided missile destroyer, the USS Kidd, into the Indian Ocean, and Indian officials to expand its search effort into the Bay of Bengal. An aviation industry source told CNN that the flight's automated communications system appeared to be intact for up to five hours, because "pings" from the system were received after the transponder last emitted

Columbia, SC - Four of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham´s announced challengers in June´s Republican primary pledged support for each other Thursday if any of them end up in a runoff with the Seneca incumbent. But a news conference announcing their alliance on the State House steps took an unexpected turn when the most minor of the candidates, Dave Feliciano of Spartanburg, took the podium and called Graham "ambiguously gay." Feliciano said, "It´s about time that South Carolina (says) hey, We´re tired of the ambiguously gay senator from South Carolina. We´re ready for a new leader to merge the Republican Party.

Kuala Lumpur - Military radar data suggests a Malaysia Airlines jetliner missing for nearly a week was deliberately flown hundreds of miles off course, heightening suspicions of foul play among investigators, sources told Reuters on Friday. (Snip) Two sources said an unidentified aircraft that investigators believe was Flight MH370 was following a route between navigational waypoints when it was last plotted on military radar off the country´s northwest coast. This indicates that it was either being flown by the pilots or someone with knowledge of those waypoints, the sources said. The last plot on the military radar's tracking suggested the

After seven days of fruitless searches for MH370, new reports suggest the plane made several course corrections after the cockpit’s last known contact with air traffic control. The New York Times is reporting that radar signals recorded by the Malaysian military appear to show the plane ascending to 45,000 feet and making a sharp turn to the right not long after it disappeared from civilian radar. (Snip) The same data suggests the plane descended to 23,000 feet as it approached the Malaysian island of Penang, but then re-ascended and flew northwest over the Straits of Malacca. CNN is reporting that authorities think the plane may have gone in

Why millennials have abandoned Obama

The day before the Iowa caucuses in 2008, I wrote about the massive crowds of young people at Barack Obama rallies, noting that his candidacy would collapse “if they don’t show up.” The next night, after Obama’s victory celebration in Des Moines, Obama strategist Steve Hildebrand spotted me in a crowd. “The kids showed up!” he said fiercely. They did. But where are they now? An army of 15 million voters under 30 swept Obama past Hillary Clinton and John McCain and to the presidency in 2008. More than 12 million helped him return in 2012. But now his presidency is on the line — and the Obama youth are abandoning him in

During the health care debate, President Barack Obama said people can keep their doctor if they wanted. Now he’s explaining why that might not be the case. Don’t blame his health care law, Obama suggested in a Friday interview with WebMD. He said it comes down to narrowing provider networks, a health care trend that predates Obamacare. Here’s how Obama described it this morning: (Snip) But that’s true if your employer suddenly decides this network is going to give you a better deal. ‘We think this is going to help keep premiums lower. Three minutes. That is the time frame to deliberately switch off a plane´s transponder and remain invisible on radar without arousing any suspicion if they are flying between Malaysian and Vietnamese airspace, pilots say. One pilot familiar with the route said there is a point over the Igari navigational waypoint in the South China Sea where commercial pilots have to use radio to communicate with air traffic controllers as the planes would be out of reach of civilian radars. Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 carrying 239 people on board disappeared over the Igari area last Saturday while en route to Beijing.

A bipartisan group of senators says they have reached a compromise extending jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed for five months. If the Senate approves the deal, it would break a months-long stalemate over the issue in the chamber between the two parties. Two leaders of the negotiations -- Democratic Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island and Republican Sen. Dean Heller of Nevada -- said in a statement that the deal would be retroactive to the end of last year. Since that time, jobless coverage has expired for roughly 2 million people. The proposal would be paid for by extending some customs fees and changing how some

Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease. Boys need lessons in basic ethics and moral reasoning

US officials believe that two communications systems aboard Malaysian Airlines flight 370 were shut down separately, 14 minutes apart - which indicates the plane did not come down because of a sudden catastrophic failure. The data reporting system was shut down at 1.07 am and the transponder was turned off at 1.21 am just after the the pilot signed off to Malaysian air traffic controllers with ´All right, good night,´ and before the Boeing 777 apparently changed course and turned west. According to investigators this indicated that the switch-off could have been a deliberate act and officials told ABC News that the

House Democrats again targeted the controversial Issa on Thursday, with a bid to force the California Republican to publicly apologize for what they dub his “repeated history of abuse” toward the minority party. In case you hadn’t heard, young people these days — a.k.a “the Millennials” — are the most cynical and distrusting generation ever recorded. Only 19 percent think most people can be trusted. According to a big study from the Pew Research Center, they are less attached to marriage, religion, and political institutions than Gen Xers, Baby Boomers, and the other demographic flavors journalists love to use. They like their friends, their digital “social networks,” and their toys, and that’s about it. Not even a majority will call themselves “patriotic.” Probably more dismaying for liberals: Of any living generation, they are
