It "Went So Wrong" when the snot-filled "Euro-elites" convinced themselves that the disparate Western European Nations could be yoked together by the means of imposing a fake currency upon them all.

Thatcher called it years ago: you eventually run out of other people´s money. Especially the USA, which is now broke.

#2 is right on the money. Lust for a share of wealth created by other people´s sweat. It will lead to eventual downfall, every single time. One hopes the Chicago Thugs ruling us would see the light.

Socialists always think they know best what everyone else wants and like our congress they get rich and the laws they impose are for all but themselves.

The cream of Europe´s DNA, the bravest and best, was destroyed in the two great wars of the 20th century. The remnant has ruled since then - with results that could easily have been predicted. The plight of Europe should at least remind us that a fool´s paradise is no paradise at all. Now that the waves of collectivism are lapping at our shores, Europe is a preview of where we are headed. The West is going down like some great ocean liner, with America still above the surface and lighted for the moment like the captain´s bridge. But the lights are beginning to flicker even here. Meanwhile, Obama and his followers are busy opening bulkheads and knocking holes in the hull to let in more water as fast as possible, apparently under the impression that this is the best way to save the ship.

So is this what hope and change is like?

The results are in and it is now evident: The past 40 years of lefty/lib/statist policies, BOTH in Europe and the USA, have departed from the tried & true historic principles of Liberty. There is no, ´´Third Way,´´ which can combine Liberty and tyranny. As Mark Levin´s best selling book, ´´Liberty and Tyranny,´´ relates, individuals have the awesome responsibility of choosing between the two, ...voting for one or the other, for they are poles apart.

The last time there was a "Festival of European Culture," most of it ended up in Goebbels´ rec room.

It would have worked out just fine, but someone in Brussels forgot to move a decimal point for the price of Spanish eggs, or was it Italian erasers? At any rate the careful central planning of balancing things to fit a shifting master plan was brilliant and all they need to make it work is a very fat check book that never, ever, needs to be balanced.

An initially stupid concept doesn´t need to "go wrong".

It just has to play itself out.

The question should be, Where did any of it go right?

Just conceiving it (and eventually implementing it) were enough to make all wrong. Stupid people fall for the leftist lies every time.

A selling point was that the USA states were united under a federal government. This was a stupid argument because the different European coungtries were in no way the equivalent of our states. There was no common language and no pressure to conform and join up with any one culture. The individual countries remained individual countries and the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels had no constituency. Anyone with half a brain should have known it couldn´t work.

Greed, laziness, and arrogance. Not a recipe for a robust union.
