Hollywood wants gun control?
"Thespian, heal thyself…"

Telegraph [UK], by Tim Stanley

Original Article

Whatever your stance on gun control, I’m sure we can all agree that the last thing the world needs to know is the opinion of the entire cast of the sitcom Parks and Recreation. “Not so!” says Hollywood, which feels that we not only need to know their views but we also need to see a glossy public service announcement about it. “Lights, camera action! Cue the liberals…!” [Snip] It’s also a wide open goal for conservatives. There have been a couple of parodies of the ad that are far more powerful than the original. My favourite is one

Comments:
Good one--more exposure of Hollywood´s hypocrisy.

This is rich. Those who make fortunes from gun play want to... is this from the Onion?

Hypocrites of Hollywood unite. They also blackball conservatives (open-minded liberals that they are) and, with an eye on the bottom line, pardon, have been known to blackball gays ($$ - 1 principles - 0). What a bunch of cheesy sleazes.

File this one under B for Blowback...or B-Slapped. Hollywood deserves it!
Frankly I´m really tired of dysfunctional Hollywood Liberals who can´t figure out how to wind their watch without a personal assistant, a personal trainer, multiple house-keepers, psychologists, psychiatrists and a well-stocked personal pharmacy, who´s lives consist of shuffling through the revolving door of rehab centers, divorce court, custody battles, bankruptcy and criminal courts, then turn around and gladly tell us what to eat, how to raise our kids, Green energy is the best, what´s good for the planet, who to vote for and how exactly WE should live OUR lives!!!
Hey, if you can´t practice what you preach, don´t climb into the pulpit!

The real hypocrites are in the deep blue states. Massachusetts and Connecticut are the mecca of weapons manufacturing in the US employing thousands of people. You can bet the Globe is quiet on the subject.

Dismiss it...but "hypocrisy" works politically. If propaganda is such a waste of time, so transparent, why is it produced in large quantities and broadcast at great expense? You can argue the facts...until the facts pale when overwhelmingly confronted by "facts." Yup, no one buys this stuff...ask Julia´s sisters.

Celebrities are all about gun control except for when they are getting paid millions to glorify guns on screen. Calling them whores is right on target. Pun intended.

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. Some conservatives have called on Obama to give up golf, especially since popular public tours of the White House have been canceled because of

Disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, whose career was destroyed after embarrassing sexts he sent to young women leaked online, is rumored to be planning a bid to run as New York mayor this year, according to reports today. Numerous sources claim Weiner, the Brooklyn congressman forced to step-down amid the embarrassing scandal in 2011, is about to make his entry into the race and put himself in contention for the Democratic Party primary. The New York Post today claims that Weiner is laying the foundations for a comeback after agreeing to a lengthy interview in the New York Times with

The most successful politicians write their own obituaries. I have read a number of Baroness Thatcher´s today and wondered whether the writers would be surprised if they were told she would probably agree with most of what was written, even in the Left-of-centre outlets. This is because successful politicians so dominate the debate on the issues they care about--which were many, in Thatcher´s case--that they determine the course of the argument including the response from opponents. They do this by defining themselves in the public imagination by what they are against rather than what they are for, and leaving only

North Korea´s army was deeply split over whether to accept the command of Kim Jong-un, a former officer has revealed, giving a possible clue to the tensions lying behind the young leader´s calls to war. First Lieutenant Kim, 42, said he had been forced to flee North Korea after he murdered a rival officer as the factions within his army unit battled for control. "I killed a three-star company commander, the same rank as me," he said. "He was the head of the faction supporting Kim Jong-un. There were two fights. In the first fight, they surrounded us

Looks like there are too many cooks in the White House kitchen. White House assistant chef Sam Kass, who cooks weekly for President Obama, said Tuesday that he is facing a furlough brought about by crippling federal budget cuts. The chef, who is also the president’s senior nutrition policy adviser, is one of nearly 500 White House employees who are expected to receive furlough notices because of the so-called sequester. Speaking with food reporters Tuesday, Mr Kass said: ‘We’re being furloughed,’ according to Reuters. Hundreds took to the streets as macabre ‘Thatcher death parties’ were held late into the night across the country, organised by critics of the ´Iron Lady.´ Smashed shop windows, paint bombs and police being attacked were all consequences of the Left´s sick ´celebration´ of Baroness Thatcher´s death. In Brixton, south London, riot police were deployed as the crowds, which had been drinking since 5pm, started to become more aggressive smashing shop fronts and throwing paint bomb. In Liverpool, flares and fireworks were set off outside Lime Street Station by revellers, while in Bristol, seven police officers were injured--one seriously--as violence

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won.
