Pentagon, defense industry
brace for looming spending cuts

Fox News, by Molly Henneberg

With Washington so far unable to avert the looming fiscal crisis, much of the attention has been on the more than $500 billion in tax hikes set to take effect Jan. 1. But failure to strike a deal also means the first wave of roughly $1.2 trillion in spending cuts will hit starting next month. Of that, about $492 billion will be carved out of the Pentagon over the next decade -- that´s about $55 billion a year starting in 2013. It was a scenario so dire that for months Defense Secretary Leon Panetta had claimed his department

America´s defense, and the defense of free nations around the globe, is indeed being weakened, and being weakened on purpose. But cutting military spending is not the primary reason. The reason is the false, seditious "presidency" of Barack Hussein Obama. The imposition of this rabid anti-American as commander in chief is more damaging to national security than any military spending cut ever proposed by the Left. Shielded by the "I got bin Laden" ruse, Barack Peace Prize can now go about making sure the USA never again is able, nor willing, to win a war. That is the Left´s greatest dream, and they are going to make it come true no matter how many people die.

Cost of high tech has been collapsing across the board for decades. Just can´t believe the DOD can´t manage to operate with a little less money.

Cut ´em. Take our chances.

The "low-information" voters will wonder why there will be so many layoffs.
They will also wonder why everything they eat or use will double in price.
And they will NOT be able to figure out why.

"Low-information" is too polite a term for the idiots who voted for Obama and the democrats. Plus it´s too hard to enter on a tablet. Let´s just call them "dummy" voters--although some of them were actually "phantom" voters, whose existence is in doubt. In any case, Obama´s reelection is the reason for the fiscal cliff. And those who think defense cuts will affect bureaucrats are whistling past the graveyard. There are lots of hard-working, tax-paying Americans and their families who will suffer because of defense cuts.

The space program is an example of what happens when you defund a high tech industry. The technical talent disburses to other industries, never to return to the one that burned them. Cutting the defense industry funding will cripple it for a generation.

It’s time to oblige the low-information voters. Give them their blue States, give us our red States (those colors are backwards) and let us go forward as a Federation of red and blue States, if not divorced, then at least separated.

Allow me to assure you, there will be NO federal employee cuts. I´m a retired military officer who was recently let go after 10 years providing contract support to the USAF. The government employees on staff were incapable or undermanned to provide this support themselves, so we stepped in. This will be the solution to DOD´s problem, as it always has been. Fire all the contractors, and maybe that´s not such a bad thing. Unless of course, you are one of those contractors! Something needs to be done, and this is just an element thereof.

Thank Speaker Boener and his dupes for being lured into a "committee" to discuss these spending cuts while believing true cuts were going to be made.

Also, blame people like Rep. Jeb Hensarling who would be a person who would make cuts, if any were to be made, who was made out to be a fool, by taking the Speaker´s bait.

Ultimately, blame Zippy, who never had any intention of making any cuts, and is going to use the "so-called savings" of not spending the money on the military, as a way to further help "pay for" (read:subsidize) the extra spending he wants to subject us to when we do not have the money to pay for it.

Lesson learned--don´t make deals with the devil--he never bargains in good faith and all you do is get screwed over!! Where´s my damn Obamaphone?

It will be painful, but the military knows how to handle adversity - even this kind. They will get through it. Right now the internal fiscal threat is more fatal to the Republic. Runaway spending on the domestic and entitlement programs must be stopped, and the "cliff" seems to be the only way to start the process. What good is it to have a Cadillac military and a bankrupt economy? I´m all for "peace through strength" and a non-hollow military, but in this case perfect is the enemy of good. Remember that Reagan collapsed the Soviet Union by breaking its economy. The ex-Communists, still-Marxists, environmentalists, Islamo-fans, and other Alinsky disciples are trying to return the favor. It´s the economy, stupid.

Country first. Look at the overall picture. There are no more easy solutions.

Yes, I am calling the Obamaphone lady a traitor who sold her country out for a bribe. The new set of Clinton documents make little mention of then-first lady Hillary Clinton, and so are unlikely to have a major political impact. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020.
