Fix spending levels at 2009 (last actual budget presented by Democrat Senate and House) for 5-6 years with 3% increase.

Stop allowing for 6-10% increases in gov´t spending.

Just state 3% increase across-the-board each year for next 5-6 years. Period.

Make it very simple and easy for everyone to understand.
Democrats won´t be able to claim anything being cut, since every program will see 3% increase.

Then, demand over that same time frame that gov´t departments submit plans to consolidate, improve efficiencies, and increase productivity to find additional savings.

In 1977 I wrote a letter to Senator Clifford Case about a problem I saw the VA Loan Program. It benefitted the big banks and not the veteran (surprise, surprise), when the "good" Senator´s Staff advised that the banks were too difficult to buck, I advised perhaps he needed to be replaced. They were amused. Approximately three months later I went to work for Jeff Bell, became a County co-ordinator against Senator Case and Bell defeated the Senator in a Primary six months later. It starts with identifying the problem and going from there. I hope the Scout has the same result that I did.

If only every citizen took the ´you work for US´ stand, or cared how they voted, this country would be a better place.

My bet is on the standard preprinted blah blah blah yada yada response letter. One I received didn´t make sense and in no way answered my letter to a promising senator.

I love Montana. Not their Senator, but their state.

In Washington State I am represented by a truth challenged democrat congressman and two ditzy democrat senators - it is of no use whatsoever writing to them: they do reply but it´s never in answer to my question or request, just some canned pre digested fol de rol format that goes straight in the circular file.

Talking or even writing to any congress critter is like facing a wall and talking to it.
