Obama Gives Raise to Biden,
Congress as Fiscal Cliff Looms

Breitbart Big Government, by Warner Todd Huston

Imagine you are working for a company that is going bankrupt, but everyone you work with and your bosses are getting pay raises. Seem absurd? Not if you work for the failing federal government, because President Obama has decreed that Vice President Biden, members of Congress, and most federal workers are getting raises for 2013. As the U.S. government is losing its luster on the bond market and as the fiscal cliff looms, President Obama issued an executive order to give everyone raises. Obama has generously bestowed a $6,379 per year raise on Grampa Joe;

Out of his own pocket I hope - that seems to be a very high handed sort of "look at me, I´m Mr.Wonderful" gesture without asking our approval - because we all know in reality where this pay raise will come from, and I for one think all involved should have their pay slashed for putting us all in such jeopardy.

This pay increase is, of course, necessary to cover any higher costs the federal worker(s) may have to pay as a result of any new rules, regulations or taxes coming their way due to, among the following, but not limited to, Obamacare - of which they are not subject to, but must still pay higher deductibles, necessarily skyrocketing energy prices and/or basic increases in the standard cost(s)of living. State, county and city municipalities may follow suit if they can sneak increases into their budgets without the private work force noticing.

As you may have guessed, govn workers have no economic cycle. When times are good, they wish to partake in the increased private sector largesse through tax increases. When times are bad, govn wishes to not feel your pain and tax increases are necessary to stave off any possible lowering of their standard of living.

Have a Happy New Year.

Let´s call it what it is: Bribery, treason, taxation without representation (if this is taxpayer money, he allotted it without it going through our elected officials), Lets call them all what they are: Criminals waiting arrest and judgement by their citizen peers.

The need for the Second Amendment as a curb on tyrannical government was never more clear - and I am thinking we will have to put it to use very soon.

It is terrifying that America has come to this.

I have the horrendous feeling/belief that the damage BO and his cronies will cause this country in the next four years will be undoable in decades to come.

The essemtial foundations of our US Constitution have been completely ignored by this administration, Congress and the Supreme Court.

It will take, if possible, leaders of tremendous resilience and strength to remotely overturn the oppressive regulations the current dictator has foisted on the American people.

I fear for my future and all Americans. The last four years was a dress rehearsal for the devastating production to occur.

BO has carte blanche to destroy our nation, and he has revealed it by erasing our military and economic domination in the face of horrific and diabolical enemies who will delight in our demise.

Welcome to the 9th world. Under BO´s belief...some pigs are more equal than others.

Why the h does Biden deserve any pay increase? Oh I know it´s an advance for the perceived upcoming performance in the gun query/panel. ha ha ha ha. The Feds will give him a cut $ from every gun they get as well. They´ll make a statue of him out of the melted down steel and put it in Times Square, right before the Chinese army arrives.

I´m still waiting for the republicans to start a petition against insane Hussain to have him impeached, highlighting his multi-page list of high crimes and misdemeanors against this nation, the security team on the way to arrest him. If not, they will be lumped into the lot of them facing charges for sabotaging and betraying this nation. Do something or go down with them.

This is what Dims do. I work for local government, overrun by Democrats, and management underpays us compared to local wage rates, while paying themselves 3 to 4 times as much. They put us off the past two years by contracting a salary study by consultants, and now the study is done. The results... they gave themselves a 10 percent pay raise! We are still waiting. We are not allowed to speak to our representatives or the media, only HR and management, and they are the ones doing it. Total corruption. But of course, to hear them talk, they are for "the little guys."

Nothing will get fixed until all government employees are restricted to the same programs that the general population is subject to...Social Security instead of their gold-plated lifetime retirement programs, Medicare/Obamacare instead of their super-duper Cadillac-care, etc. If they want to get any such enhanced programs, they can pay for 100% of it out of their own pay checks. No more taxpayer funded benefit programs, period.

The next two years as someone said are going to be hell. But, just imagine the Republicans (as lame as they are) losing the House in 2014. And this is what Barry and his Communist cohorts in the government are setting up right before our eyes. The damage this man and an unchecked Democrat Congress will do just cannot be imagined.

And this is what our country voted for. Dear God help us in our time of anguish.

Problems getting judges confirmed by the Senate have been a constant complaint for this White House — but this week, President Barack Obama’s aides are celebrating a confirmation count that outpaces President George W. Bush’s. They’ve had that goal on their minds for over a year, ever since chief of staff Denis McDonough and counsel Kathy Ruemmler reprioritized judicial nominations for Obama’s second term. John Owens, confirmed Monday to the Ninth Circuit, along with Edward Smith and Gerald McHugh, who confirmed to the district court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania last week, put them over the top. “Hooray, hooray”! they said in print. 192,000 jobs were created last month according to the Department of Labor’s somewhat flawed mathematics that the media is eager to ignore. Because hidden inside that job gain is another disheartening sign for the workforce: the number of workers who could only find part-time jobs rose by 225,000. Leading the field in job creation, not surprisingly, was education and health services with 34,000 jobs—thank you Obamacare-- the retail trade with about 22,000 jobs—thank you Obamacare-- and temporary workers with 28,500 jobs —thank you Obamacare. The unemployment rate remained 6.7 percent. After five years of being in and out of work, Tara Dublin found a job a few weeks ago as a hostess at a restaurant in Portland, Ore.. "I´ve been hired by this restaurant I absolutely love, but it´s a part-time position," Dublin says. She makes $11 an hour, plus tips. In March, of the 192,000 jobs created, 30,000 were in

Imagine going to work one day only to be, in effect, fired -- not because of anything you did or didn’t do at your job, but because of something you did in your personal life. Something religious. Or maybe, something political.(snip)That’s exactly what happened to Brendan Eich, a highly-respected tech guru in Silicon Valley and co-founder of Mozilla Corporation, after he was appointed CEO in late March. In less than a week, he was forced out of this position for no reason other than that he had a made a $1000 contribution to the Prop 8 initiative in 2008. His

The State Department has no idea what happened to $6 billion used to pay its contractors. In a special “management alert” made public Thursday, the State Department’s Inspector General Steve Linick warned “significant financial risk and a lack of internal control at the department has led to billions of unaccounted dollars over the last six years. The alert was just the latest example of the federal government’s continued struggle with oversight over its outside contractors. The lack of oversight “exposes the department to significant financial risk,” the auditor said. “It creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt

In his opening statement during highly anticipated testimony Wednesday on Benghazi, former CIA deputy director Michael Morell claimed to be an intelligence professional who was willing to lay out the facts -- no matter how damaging. "I take very seriously the allegations about how the CIA in general and about how I in particular handled the analysis and the talking points," Morell told the House Intelligence Committee, in his first public testimony on the Benghazi attacks. "The ethical code under which intelligence officers carry out their responsibilities calls for total objectivity." But Morell´s own testimony would appear to undercut that

Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich will step down following uproar over his apparent opposition to gay marriage. In a statement released Thursday, Mozilla -- which makes the Firefox Web browser -- apologized for not reacting more quickly to the controversy surrounding Eich, who made a 2008 donation supporting California´s plan on gay marriage, The Guardian reports. "We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it´s because we haven´t stayed true to ourselves," said Mozilla executive chairwoman Mitchell Baker in a statement. Last week, Eich attempted to dispel fears on whether he would support equality as the head

Earlier this week on Boston’s WRKO-AM’s The Howie Carr Show, conservative commentator Ann Coulter shocked some conservatives when she said she is making 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney her favorite for the 2016 Republican contest. Last month in an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Romney himself ruled out the possibility of a 2016 run and said he was instead focused on who to get behind in that contest. Coulter, however, wishes otherwise. “Well, don´t tell him but I´m planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest -- flying out, kidnapping him and depriving him of sleep, food and

A 54-year-old white man has been left barely clinging to life after he was brutally beaten by a group of black men when he got out of his car to check on a young black boy he accidentally hit. Steve Utash, from suburban Roseville, was beaten into a coma Wednesday by an angry mob in a poverty-stricken Detroit neighborhood after David Harris, 10, ran in front of his truck on a busy street, but police insist the incident was not racially motivated. The gang also stole his wallet before leaving him for dead. Utash is in extremely critical

Muslim moms and dads in Dearborn, Mich. are upset after students received flyers promoting an Easter Egg hunt at a local Presbyterian church. The parents say the egg hunt violates the U.S. Constitution. The Muslims told the Detroit Free-Press that they were concerned about the religious implications of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church’s “Eggstravaganza!” They were also troubled by images of a bunny rabbit. “It really bothered my two kids,” parent Majed Moughni, told the newspaper. “My son was like, ‘Dad, I really don’t feel comfortable getting these flyers, telling me to go to church. I thought churches are not supposed

Attorney General Eric Holder disputed a Government Accountability Office report on his use of Justice Department airplanes for personal trips, saying it overstated the number of trips he took and failed to recognize that some trips were job-related. "My staff keeps telling me to take it easy, you know, well, this is one that gets me," Holder told Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. "There was this notion that we´ve taken -- I think it was described as hundreds of personal trips. That was wrong. GAO counted flights, not round trips. And we looked at it

According to a report via BuzzFeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro, President Barack Obama requested the opportunity to address the nation in prime time on the major broadcast networks on Tuesday night to announce that the Affordable Care Act had reached 7 million enrollees. Those networks did not, however, accommodate the White House’s request. “Three sources familiar with the request confirmed the White House asked for the prime time slot in their effort both to emphasize a bright moment following the challenging roll out and, more important, to try to reintroduce the country to a law that remains unpopular,”

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there

President Barack Obama contended that the government did not “make a hard sell” for Obamacare, despite his administration spending nearly $700 million to promote the law. “We didn’t make a hard sell,” Obama said in the Rose Garden on Tuesday, praising the 7.1 million sign ups for the Affordable Care Act. “We didn’t have billions of dollars of commercials like some critics did.” However, last July the Associated Press reported that Obamacare’s marketing campaign would cost at least $684 million. Taxpayer funding went to all 50 states in efforts to encourage people to enroll, including nearly $28 million for the
