Infectiously Positive Man Implores
Americans To Pay Down The Debt By
Donating From Their Paychecks

When is the power of positive thinking not sufficient to solve to a pressing problem? Most of the time, actually, but particularly in the case of America’s spiraling national debt and the looming crisis that mounting debt presents. Since the end of August, America’s debt as ballooned by $400 billion – 100 billion more dollars than there are stars in the Milky Way Galaxy. For businessman Scott Soucy, stopping this runaway spending is a challenge he is ready to tackle. This jolly fellow has a plan to get America’s lawmakers to the table to address the debt,

Comments:
It´s a nice concept and he may be "infectiously positive" but I wouldn´t send one more dime to those corrupt politicians until they stop spending money so recklessly. Even if it came with "express instructions that it be applied towards the debt" it would make no difference to those crooks.
Sorry, count me out.

Let´s see, Soucy stopped paying his mortgagee, bought a lemo with a home equity loan, maxed out his credit cards and now sells T-shirts. Um, what is the difference between him and Tim Geithner? Deadbeat, heal thyself

How about this:

Ask Americans to quit taking so much welfare. Refuse all those food stamps. Don´t activate the 0bama-phone. Turn the thermostat down when welfare pays the heating bill.

After all, it´s "For the Children."

I think a line is crossed between infectiously positive and certifiably insane. It is not positive to give our government more money, and not positive to pretend otherwise. This exercise also presupposes that the problem with government debt is too little revenue, when clearly the problem is too much spending.

The problem is that it wouldn´t pay down the debt at all because the democ rats would simply spend it on their base.

How about cutting out wasteful spending and donating that amount to debt repayment instead? And other idea--cut taxes for everyone and get the economy going again. If more people are working, tax revenues will increase.

Isn´t only infectious if others get the same illness too?
Seriously, I´m supposed to donate more money to this government?
For any of you Kansans out there that ever visited Joyland Amusement Park in Wichita during your youth, do you remember the pig´s head in the center of the park that sucked up the trash through its mouth?
That´s what I think of every time I hear the government discuss taxes. That trash-sucking pig.

Infectious? How about just "sick?"

I didn´t create one dime of our enormous debt and I´ve paid taxes all my life without collecting one single day of unemployment so I take no responsibility for paying it back. The government is just like a bitchy ex-wife who maxed out your credit cards and now wants more alimony to pay her bills. If Scotty Boy wants to contribute more, nobody is going to stop him.

I actually believe that if there was a serious crackdown on spending people would donate towards the debt.

Obama just gave federal workers a raise in the face of yet another recession, probably for their support in winning Va.,at least so yeah, there´s no point in sending these reckless goons more money.

Welfare should simply be stopped 9 months from today with no newcomers hopping on the bus.I don´t want to hear this crap about it not being the kid´s fault.Build group homes to warehouse these reckless people if need be.

Obama´s getting ready to throw even more billions down the refinance rathole,in fact if you were foreclosed on,you might qualify for a big payout. It´s pure insanity.

Our national debt is around 100% of GDP.
If everyone sent in ALL of their earned income for a year, it still wouldn´t pay off the debt.

The debt is being monetized (through inflation) as you read this. Once a dollar is worth a penny, the value of the debt will only be $160,000 billion.

Talk about enabling "addicts". Our custodians of the public good.... Our "elected officials" are addicts - along with the taker crowd. Addicted to OPM (other people´s money).

On what planet does it make sense to give more OPM to an addict?

They (and this Polly Anna) can shove it. They already get too much from me as it is.

Why don´t they encourage people to pay off their own debts - giving themselves more financial stability in times of economic depression? I think they like having people indebted and ignorant. Much easier to control.

Following up last weekend’s official White House photo of President Obama talking on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the administration today released another phone photo, this one of a conversation with French President Francois Hollande. This one comes from Key Largo, Fla., where Obama is spending the weekend before returning to Washington to host a reception Monday for the 2012 and 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Champions before moving on to fundraising events Tuesday. “The President welcomed the strong, unified stance of the United States and the European Union regarding Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine, including

Two days after a shocking defeat, liberals are still grousing about the Senate spiking the nomination of former NAACP Legal Fund Director Debo Adegbile to be head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. What really burns them up is not just that Republicans successfully filibustered one of President Obama’s choices for a government post but that six Democrats joined with them. But rather than take responsibility for putting forward a controversial figure who was sure to provoke bitter opposition from both sides of the aisle, liberals are reverting to form by blaming their defeat on conservative demagoguery and racism. WASHINGTON — In late December, President Barack Obama´s new legislative affairs team sent him more than a dozen recommendations for ways to improve his strained relations with Capitol Hill. The president responded with a few ideas of his own, including a request for more social events with lawmakers at the White House. One of the most seismic changes in American politics over the last decade has been the emergence of a sharp generational split among the electorate. The Democratic Party owes its success in the last two presidential elections almost entirely to overwhelming support among the very young, which has overcome continued conservatism among older voters. The Pew Research Institute has dominated the field of exploring the ideological cleavages among different generations. And its latest survey shows again how the liberalism of the youngest voting cohort, millennials, remains firm, and likely to continue to recast the electorate. A few charts from the survey

Sarah Palin, the tea-party-darling former Alaska governor who ran for vice president in 2008, is leaving the door open for a president run in 2016. ´It depends on what it is that Americans really, really want in a candidate,´ Palin said Friday night. ´If they want a fighter, if they want someone who can so respect our exceptionalism, everything that makes America great, the promise of America. And if we don´t find that, then I would run.´ [Snip] Asked who her favorite presidential hopefuls are so far, she singled out Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul while

Barack Obama´s parents were "married in name only," according to David Maraniss´s 2012 Barack Obama: The Story. But since definitions of an "in name only" marriage vary, such as "a marriage of convenience" or "a sexless marriage," and Maraniss failed to explain his claim, it is unclear what he was implying. Therefore, Obama´s oft-told nativity story must be searched for the full implications of Obama´s parents´ "in name only" marriage. (snip) So when did Ann´s and Obama Sr.´s "whatever happened happened fast" wedding happen? For no apparent reason, confusion abounds among Obama´s biographers over the wedding date:

Disbelieving family and friends of an ex-Navy SEAL who died of an apparent drugs overdose on the ship made famous in the movie Captain Phillips are convinced of a ´cover-up´ and have called for a US investigation into his death, MailOnline can reveal today. The body of Mark Kennedy, a super fit, highly-decorated member of the elite fighting force, was found inside a cabin on the cargo ship Maersk Alabama - the vessel involved in a 2009 hijacking that ended with Somali pirates shot dead by SEALs. Another former SEAL, Jeffrey Reynolds, was found alongside him, also dead from a suspected drug

New York City lefty Mayor Bill de Blasio was elected in a landslide with more than 73 percent of the vote last November. Yet after only two months on the job, his approval rating has been cut nearly in half, with only 39 percent of city voters expressing approval of the job he has done so far. (Snip) But this is a brutal start. For a worst-case scenario, consider the rapid slide of President François Hollande—another far-left candidate who swept into office in a landslide. He saw his approval rating crater within months of taking office; it now sits at

The most dangerous parts of a flight are takeoff and landing. Rarely do incidents happen when a plane is cruising seven miles above the earth. So the disappearance of a Malaysia Airlines jet well into its flight Saturday morning over the South China Sea has led aviation experts to assume that whatever happened was quick and left the pilots no time to place a distress call. (Snip) The problem had to be big enough, he said, to stop the plane´s transponder from broadcasting its location, although the transponder can be purposely shut off from the cockpit.

Kuala Lumpur - A Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew crashed in the South China Sea on Saturday, Vietnamese state media said, quoting a senior naval official. The Boeing 777-200ER flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing had been missing for hours when Vietnam´s Tuoi Tre news quoted Admiral Ngo Van Phat as saying he had asked boats from an island off south Vietnam to rush to the crash site. If the report is confirmed, it would mark the U.S.-built airliner´s deadliest crash since entering service 19 years ago. Malaysia Airlines had yet to confirm that the aircraft had crashed. It said earlier in the day that no distress signal
