MSNBC host Chris Matthews is a “statesman,” according to the network’s president, Phil Griffin. In a recent Associated Press story, Griffin praises the always impassioned anchor for being a “model figure” for the network. Griffin expressed confidence in Matthews’ style and where he is now. “He’s as good as he’s ever been,” Griffin told the AP. “He’s at a place in his life where he’s really comfortable in his own skin. He’s a statesman. He has so much knowledge and I think he understands it better. He’s always been great, but I really think he’s

This kind of inanity is what is dragging this culture down. First, Chris Matthews is not the "model figure" for anyone other than crazy people who happen to be liberals.

As for being a "statesman", to which State is Griffin referring? The state of mind of maniacal, delusional, self-absorbed, mindless mouth-breathers?

Griffin´s comments should be taken as seriously as the channel is taken.

WASHINGTON — Bill Clinton found him to be cold and worrisome, but predicted he would be a tough and able leader. George W. Besides Hobby Lobby, there’s another business involved in the the landmark religious-protections case being argued before the Supreme Court this week: Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp. There’s something that makes the current Supreme Court different from some of its recent predecessors. The justices got religion. Or at least they seem more open about their faith, appearing before devout audiences and talking more about how religion shaped their lives or guides them now. As the court this week weighs religious conviction vs. legal obligation in the latest challenge to the Affordable Care Act, those who study the court say the change is hard to quantify but easy to notice. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. are devout Catholics who faced questions
