Chinese prison factories revealed
American Thinker, by A.M. Mora y Leon

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 12/28/2012 10:13:09 AM

A Chinese prisoner´s note, found in a box of Kmart Halloween decorations by an unsuspecting Oregonian, described the horrors of China´s prison-factories. Despite that sort of thing not supposed to be happening, it is happening because China remains a communist tyranny. Why is this happening? In part, because the U.S. under Obama has been silent. Maybe that´s because the U.S. relies on China to finance its vast U.S. government spending through its purchase of $1.16 trillion in U.S. Treasury

Comments:
Obama´s reliance on the Chinese to finance his vast deficit spending is why prison labor factories can go on with such impunity. Obama´s not going to do a thing to pressure the Chinese to knock it off.

Not much of an article!

I googled and saw articles dating back at least 20 years. This isn´t anything new, and I don´t imagine it´s going to change.

Prison factories are actually not a bad idea. Keep the inmates busy. Make them pay for their room and board. Possibly teach them a marketable skill.

I´ve read that these are American companies in whose sweat shops they work. If true, I think our gov´t could do something about that.

I also try not to buy Chinese-made goods but it is impossible. I don´t know why more of an effort isn´t being made to shift manufacturing to Mexico if it can´t be done cheaply enough here.

Ukraine And Venezuela: This

Revolts: Two massive uprisings have rocked Ukraine and Venezuela. Neither toppled the countries´ tyrants, but the one more likely to succeed is in Ukraine, where resistance is no longer passive. Venezuela saw some of its biggest protests in years on Tuesday, with hundreds of thousands of citizens marching through Caracas and elsewhere, peaceably demanding an end to the country´s communist government. That government, in power for 15 years as a result of election fraud, has brought shortages, inflation, crime and oppression and is finally running out of other people´s money.

FRESNO — Farmers in California´s drought-stricken Central Valley said the financial assistance President Barack Obama delivered on his visit Friday does not get to the heart of California´s long-term water problems. Amid one of the driest years in the state´s recorded history, Obama came to the Fresno area to announce $100 million in livestock-disaster aid, $60 million to support food banks and $13 million toward things such as conservation and helping rural communities that could soon run out of drinking water. The impending threat of communism in Venezuela is now a reality with the “Decree with Range, Value and Force of Fair Prices” published in the country’s Official Gazette on January 24, issued by President Nicolás Maduro thanks to the special powers granted through an enabling law by lawmakers of the chavismo regime in November of last year. The destructive power of this decree over businesses is enormous when compared to other similar laws passed by Congress over the last 15 years, and that’s a lot to say. Not in vain the goal of that decree is quite explicit: Consolidating the economic

Venezuelan troops fanned out across the capital, Caracas, and other major cities on Thursday after President Nicolás Maduro ordered a military clampdown against deadly unrest that he warned was part of a "fascist" coup plot. Piles of burning rubbish sat smoking along Caracas´ main avenue as troops moved to secure the city following an outbreak of street violence that left three dead on Wednesday. Armed soldiers surrounded government buildings and diverted traffic, while riot troops guarded entrances to the shuttered subway system as residents picked their way through broken glass.

Sarah Palin has made an endorsement in Texas. She’s backing tea party leader Katrina Pierson over Rep. Pete Sessions. In a Facebook post, Palin notes that Pierson’s “life’s story is full of hardships she has fought to overcome, which taught her firsthand the importance of self-reliance, hard work, and the blessings of liberty.” One of those hardships includes a 1997 arrest for shoplifting. As the Dallas Morning News reported on Valentine’s Day, “In 1997, five days before her 21st birthday, Katrina Pierson, then named Katrina Lanette Shaddix, was arrested on a charge of theft of greater than $50 and less than $500.” Pierson,

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 17, 2014 – President Barack Obama has elevated the right to have sex with a member of the same sex to the level of universal “fundamental freedoms” in a new presidential statement criticizing Uganda. But critics say his promotion of homosexuality in a continent that overwhelmingly opposes that behavior amounts to a form of liberal “cultural imperialism.” Obama wrote on Sunday that he opposed a proposed bill in Uganda that would criminalize same-sex “marriages” and impose life imprisonment for repeated homosexual acts, among other provisions, because “as a country and a people, the United States has consistently

There´s a long list of Cabinet secretaries and senior aides to President Obama who have failed the nation so resoundingly they should be shown the door. But Secretary John Kerry, who dumped his military decorations in 1971 and was dumped by voters as a presidential candidate in 2004, should definitely be the first one out. Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel (R-Ky.) are now in position to end the Tea Party’s death grip on the Republican Party’s political future. Last week, Boehner and McConnell faced down the Tea Party’s threat to cripple the government when they supported raising the nation’s debt ceiling. That move prevented GOP political suicide. If the nation’s credit rating, stocks and the recovery went down the sewer because of Republicans’ refusal to raise the debt ceiling, the GOP’s chances in the midterm elections would have been severely damaged. He argued that Americans support raising the minimum wage because it will lift "struggling" families out of poverty: "But they also know what it´s like to see a friend, a neighbor, where one spouse goes back to work, who would prefer maybe not to work. Maybe they´re working part-time just to supplement the family´s income. And they think, if that

As American voters watch ObamaCare continue its Godzilla-like rampage across the national health-care landscape, it´s worth considering the collateral damage this political monster may be doing to the Democratic brand itself. What if ObamaCare´s problems become a metaphor for the modern Democratic Party? Two portents emerged the past week. The United Auto Workers suffered a humiliating defeat at Volkswagen VOW3.XE -0.49% in Tennessee. And days before that loss, voters San Diego elected Republican Kevin Faulconer mayor after he teed up his opponent as a captive of the city´s public unions. Two big constituencies sacked in a week.
