Rick Perry, looking the part of a newly elected senator: sharp-eyed, coiffed, wearing a bright pearl necklace. For many, this was a first glimpse at the New Braunfels Republican, who doesn´t yet have an office in the Capitol but now represents state Senate District 25, which includes northern Bexar County.

Great American women are the core of the TEA Party. Texas has women like her, while the best Nevada and Delaware can do is Angle and O´Donnell (who´s not a witch!).

That´s right. Texas Monthly already has their list of "worst legislators" (a token democRAT will get the honor to make the list maker say he´s bipartisan).
They´ll go all crybaby that their RINO pal, Jeff Wentworth was beaten by this Tea Party gal ... you know the Wentworth type. Kinda like Romney. Run hard against Republicans in the primary, go squishy when the Democrats are the opponent.

During this year´s Conservative Political Action Conference, the American Conservative Union paraded its star lineup of African Americans who share their political philosophy. They were featured as a “stunning array of speakers from the African American community.” But in reality, they are not known by black America, with the exception of Dr. Benjamin Carson and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. The problem that conservatives face when featuring these people is that even though they are black, they are not in tune with African Americans. They do not share the struggles, frustrations and everyday problems of the community they claim to represent.

She admitted voting twice in the presidential election last November, and now, Obama supporter Melowese Richardson has been indicted for allegedly voting at least six times. She also is charged with illegal voting in 2008 and 2011. The 58-year-old veteran Cincinnati poll worker, indicted Monday, faces eight counts of voter fraud. Two others, one of whom is a nun, have been charged separately.

When Democrats in the Texas House met in late January to elect Rep. Yvonne Davis of Dallas as their leader by the slimmest of margins, she promised to listen to their voices and not to unelected outsiders, specifically, Houston Democratic benefactor Steve Mostyn. Almost immediately, the phone of the successful plaintiff´s lawyer lit up with text messages from lawmakers lamenting the remarks of the woman they had just elected as their leader. After all, Mostyn and his wife, Amber, have infused $25 million into Democratic efforts in the past two election cycles. Surely, some respect was owed.

In a worldwide sweep to rid its workplaces of sexually charged materials, the Air Force found 32,216 inappropriate or offensive items, including 40 pornographic magazines at the Air Education and Training Command headquarters at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. Another Maverick County commissioner was indicted on allegations of corruption Thursday, making it three of the five commissioners facing federal charges. With the arrest of Precinct 4 Commissioner César Flores, 46, only Precinct 3 Commissioner Jose Luis Rosales and County Judge David Saucedo are not under indictment. Flores was released on $40,000 bail, and Precinct 1 Commissioner Eliaz Maldonado, who´s also facing corruption charges, is out on bail as well, so the court can make a quorum.

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources.
