Tebow said on Wednesday that he told Ryan last Tuesday that he was “definitely disappointed” he wasn’t going to be the starting quarterback in place of the benched Mark Sanchez, and added that he told the coach he wanted to play “regular quarterback.” “I never said, ‘Hey, I don’t want to do anything,’” Tebow said.

O.P. -- it reminds me of high school in the ´70s, when a guy who openly pursued keeping his nose squeaky clean was ´uncool´ enough to be anathema, and when a guy who strove to remain a virgin until marriage was looked upon with mistrust or even accused of being gay.
Tebow the QB? meh.
Tebow the competitor and team leader? yeh.
Tebow the human being? above and beyond.
I hope Tim remembers Luke 6:22 and Matthew 5:11-12a when he gets grief like this week.

Another good Scripture verse is 1 Peter 2:20-23. Tim Tebow will do just fine. Just as a metal is purified and made stronger and more valuable after being heated over hot coals, so Tim will come out of this much stronger. He has been a terrific role model for kids to emulate. I had a sister who once worked in the office of a newspaper, and she said the morals there were like those of an alley cat. Which might be why Tim receives so much vitriol from the media - they can´t stand the comparison.

I played a little bit of football. (The older I get, the better I was.)
And as a lineman, I blocked for dropback qbs and also for scrambling qbs. It is much more difficult to block for scrambling qbs - almost freelancing, instead of following blocking assignments.
So in order for a scrambling, running qb to be successful, he must have a line willing to do the nontraditional blocking.
Separate from that, though, is that a person who shows his Christianity is not cool. (A muslim, however, is cool when he shows his religion.)
And Merill Hoge had to give up the game because of several severe concussions. I think there may be some early signs of a brain disorder because of his history. Sort of like Joe Biden. They just say stuff.

A huge sunspot known as AR1654 produced the M1-class flare at 4:11 a.m. EST, officials with NASA´s Solar Dynamics Observatory said in a description of the event. It was the Year of the Big Tuna in sportfishing, so it’s appropriate that 2012 end with the International Game Fish Association approving the 427-pound yellowfin caught in September by Dana Point’s Guy Yocom as the new all-tackle world record. The IGFA announced that the giant tuna Yocom caught while fishing on his boat, El Suertudo (The Lucky One), approximately 100 miles off Cabo San Lucas, is the new standard for yellowfin. Yocom’s catch broke the record of 405.2 pounds set in 2010 by Mike Livingston of Sunland aboard Mike Lackey’s boat, the Vagabond, out of Point Loma Sportfishing.

A strong earthquake struck off the southwestern coast of California early Friday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. It was a 6.3-magnitude earthquake that rattled at 2:36 a.m. PST Friday. The epicenter was 163 miles south-southwest of Avalon, Calif. The quake occurred at a depth of 7.0 miles. Some light shaking was felt around Los Angeles and San Diego. Aftershocks have occurred after the quake. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs.
