Deranged Left-Wing
Fundamentalist Syndrome

FrontPage Magazine, by Mark F. Tooley

Original Article

Posted By:Judy W., 12/26/2012 4:55:15 PM

Children of conservative religious backgrounds who spend a lifetime rebelling against their parents often replicate the “fundamentalism” of their youth. Except their mutated version is often angrier, more intolerant, and unmitigated by the sense of divine grace that permeates even the most zealous of Christian “fundamentalists.” Franky Schaeffer, hyper resentful son of the late great evangelical thinker Francis Schaeffer, is an icon of this pathology. But in the wake of the horrible Connecticut killings, he has outdone even the most foaming at the mouth caricature of himself.

I´ve read many theological works from Augustine to Bonhoeffer but seldom as one pertinent to today´s world as Francis Schaeffer´s "A Christian Manifesto." I always disliked the title, but the content is amazing. If Franky never read it he should, as should everybody.

He never had any faith as described in Holy Scripture.

Francis Schaeffer was a truly great man. Franke Schaeffer dropped out of the south end of a north-bound horse.

What a nasty man. His foam-flecked rant reminds one of hydrophobia. He has become politically rabid. He is a gruesome example of Nietzsche´s maxim that he who fights monsters must take care lest he become one. And he is a chilling example of the malice and moral vanity that constitute the core of Leftist ideology. This is not Eros but Thanatos.

He needs to take a good look in the mirror. He has become what he claims to be against.

Yuk. Just reading his words makes one feel unclean, craving the decontamination of a shower. They are the malevolent howlings of a demon. I don´t think the Oedipus Complex should get him off the hook for such almost(?) insanely hateful slanders. They are the external manifestations of a profound inner wickedness. This is precisely the same kind of paranoid narcissistic rage that causes some people -luckily a very few- to take up a semi-automatic weapon and begin shooting strangers.

The worst thing is that he is not the only one. There are others equally hateful and malicious - equally self-righteous and vindictive. They actually seem to thrive on their hate. It is perhaps their main, even their only raison d´etre.

The author of the article mentioned Harold Zinn, the "historian" - isn´t it Howard Zinn? The subject matter of the article is indeed wretched, but the author needs some editorial help.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe the other side is being honest. Democratic politicians and liberal writers accuse Christian employers of “tell[ing] women what to do with their bodies,” and trying to “control” “access to birth control.” But a contraception ban is not on a table. Forcing religious business owners to buy birth control is the matter at hand in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby, on which the Supreme Court heard oral arguments Tuesday. The Hobby Lobby case hinges largely on the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. When conservatives invoke religious liberty – whether it´s employers who oppose the contraception mandate or wedding

As one of the relatively few people (percentage wise) to have spent more than a decade on both sides of our political divide, and also to have participated personally in the civil rights movement in the South in the sixties, I am going to say something that will be extremely controversial to liberals, indeed make them hate me. Given all those years I spent on the two sides, I have observed liberals to be vastly more racist than conservatives and libertarians. It isn’t even close. During the time I was on the left, I heard many racially disparaging comments by my associates either offered in confidence or as off-hand remarks.

Comes the news that Britain’s dreaded National Health Service — a dreamboat to American lefties who have obviously never experienced British “medicine” and a nightmare to conservatives who have — has been incinerating the body bits of aborted babies as “medical waste.” Coming from the folks who gave Ireland the Drogheda Massacre, this should be no surprise, since a healthy regard for human life has never been characteristic of the former colonial power that left trails of dead bodies in its wake from China to India to Africa to Ireland. A new study by the Non-Governmental International Panel on Climate Changeshows that the benefits of a warming earth will outweigh any costs incurred. (Snip) The authors find higher levels of carbon dioxide and warmer temperatures benefit nearly all plants, leading to more leaves, more fruit, more vigorous growth, and greater resistance to pests, drought, and other forms of “stress.” Wildlife benefits as their habitats grow and expand. A settlement between California and left-wing groups begins to reveal the political architecture of Obamacare. From the ACLU press release: In a victory for voting rights, the state of California has agreed to mail voter registration cards to nearly 4 million Californians who have signed up for health insurance through the state health exchange, Covered California, and to ensure that Californians who apply for health benefits through the exchange going forward are provided voter registration opportunities. The action is the result of a settlement agreement reached with the ACLU of California, the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project, Demos, and Project Vote, which

Agreed, Holy Father, that Human
Dignity Needs Work. Then What?
American Thinker, by Christopher Chantrill    Original Article

The Holy Father visited an Italian steelworks last week and declared that human dignity requires a job. In the current mess the unemployed risk being marginalized, “victims of social exclusion,” he said. What does “the very serious problem of unemployment” tell us, he asked? It is the consequence of an economic system that is no longer able to create work, because it has placed at its centre the idol of money. Therefore, the various political, social and economic actors are called upon to promote a different approach, based on justice and solidarity, to ensure the possibility of dignified work for all. The 41-year-old Republican FCC Commissioner had a baby daughter in October, leading to many sleepless nights. Pai had become fully aware of the “Critical Information Needs” (CIN) study last December, when the House Energy and Commerce Committee sent a letter expressing their concerns. The FCC was moving quickly with the study. The agency had spent $500,000 planning a study that would have involved grilling editors in 280 newsrooms over how they decide which stories to run. Legislation that would end an unusual loophole in Pennsylvania´s anti-stalking laws that exempts union-related activity is slowing making its way through the Republican-led statehouse. It has a good chance of getting enacted, aides say. The Keystone State defines stalking as "following the person without proper authority, under circumstances which demonstrate either an intent to place such other person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or to cause substantial emotional distress to such other person." Repeated, unwanted communications count as stalking, too. But the law also states: "This section shall not apply to conduct by a party to a labor dispute." State Rep. Ron

Nobody works harder or spends more money to elect liberals than teachers and their labor unions. But these same elected officials are now asking the one question that teachers never thought they would hear: “Why are you so racist?” The question was posed last week following a Department of Education study about the educational and disciplinary differences between white and black students. “This critical report shows that racial disparities in school discipline policies are not only well-documented among older students, but actually begin during preschool,” said Attorney General Eric Holder. “This Administration is moving aggressively to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline

Today at the Supreme Court, some courageous Americans are standing up to Obamacare’s trampling of religious freedom. But outside the Court, the debate rages over the place of this valuable freedom in our lives. Planned Parenthood put together a graphic to express one argument—that Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood want to “deny their employees access to birth control.” As Heritage expert Sarah Torre explained in our video, nothing could be further from the truth. The companies actually pay to cover 16 different types of contraceptive drugs. Check out our version of the infographic, which explains what’s really at stake today.

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has said that ´a trained ape´ could do a better job managing American interests in Afghanistan than President Obama. The retired Republican made the insult while doing a phone-in interview for Greta Van Susteren´s Fox News show on Tuesday. He argued that the President made a serious error by failing to negotiate a status forces agreement with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Gawker points out that such an agreement would effectively commit the United States to having a certain number of troops in the country for a number of years beyond the already-agreed-upon plan which

A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company
