1 Dead, 13 Wounded In
Christmas Eve, Christmas Shootings

CBS Chicago, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:lasvegaslou, 12/26/2012 11:00:16 AM

One person was killed and 13 wounded in gun violence over the Christmas holiday, including an 11-year-old boy grazed by a bullet and a man who was shot to death during a dispute in the Englewood neighborhood. Joshua Davis, 18, was shot to death in the 2000 block of W. 69th Street — a few blocks from his home — after an altercation with several males on a CTA bus, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Comments:
I´m confused. Chicago already has about the strictest gun laws in the US so what can we possibly do? We could ban the people doing the shooting. No, they won´t let us do that. What about putting criminals in jail and keeping them there. Put a little fear in them. No, won´t let us do that either. Wait, I´ve got it! Let´s take all guns away from honest citizens. That will do it.

Most amusing. Chicago has a body count equal to the ´current events school shooting´ - about every week...and as noted - the toughest city gun laws in the country...

Obama? Obama? Ob....Bueller?...Bueller?

And it *certainly* isn´t like the Judicial system in the US - of late more concerned with ´humanity´ than actual punishment of crime - has anything to do with this mess...

It sure didn´t seem to stop the ´Fireman Killer´ from obtaining firearms - after killing someone previously with a hammer.

Guess he forgot to check the ´Convicted Felon´ box at the gun store. Ya´ think?

Mistress e. holder of dog fame had great plans for population elimination (control in gov speak) with the covert well offending faster and furiouser plan and by packing the penal system with constituents. After all most felons are "heped" and paid to vote by the feral regime.
This would have solved all of their problems with housing, welfare, but they over looked one facet.

Who would be left to carry out the dimfecal multiple voter plan? Perhaps the dims are not as smart as they think.

Of course the Plan B might be to simply have the gummit printing presses print the ballots and keep the press running until they win.

There has to be a point at which the black community just says enough, and begins to clean their act up.

Judging by some (many) replies in this thread, it seems many must have missed the news just a couple of weeks ago? Guns are no longer banned in Chicago. The ban was found unconstitutional, and CCW is now legal. They were given sonething like 180 days to cone up with guidelines for CCW. I would presume with the state of affairs in Chicago open carry would be a death sentence, albeit legal, a death by cop that is uneducated to the new laws would be of concern.

With legal guns in Chicago now, more if the statitistics you will be seeing will be the cleansing of the entitlement gene pool. Pay closer attention, you should.

A Slate article by David Gans makes much of the fact that business groups haven’t stood up to support Hobby Lobby’s religious exemption claims: This spring, the Supreme Court will decide — for the first time in our nation’s history — whether secular, for-profit corporations are entitled to invoke the constitutional guarantee of the free exercise of religion. The stakes are huge, as the justices will determine whether business corporations can claim a religious exemption from federal laws that protect the rights of their employees.

Fact Checking the 2014 State

Washington Post, by Glenn Kessler    Original Article

A State of the Union address is often difficult to fact-check, no matter who is president. The speech is a product of many hands and is carefully vetted, so major errors of fact are relatively rare. But State of the Union addresses often are very political speeches, an argument for the president’s policies, so context is sometimes missing. Here is a guide through some of President Obama’s more fact-challenged claims, in the order in which he made them. At the end, we also examine one fishy fact in the Republican response.

Approximately 18 people die every day waiting for an organ transplant. But that may change someday sooner than you think -- thanks to 3D printing. Advances in the 3D printing of human tissue have moved fast enough that San Diego-based bio-printing company Organovo now expects to unveil the world´s first printed organ -- a human liver -- next year. Like other forms of 3D printing, bio-printing lays down layer after layer of material -- in this case, live cells -- to form a solid physical entity -- in this case, human tissue.

Or to Citizens United, which allows money to literally control politics and has made political parties less relevant, and allowed the proliferation of the ultra conservative Tea Party. The Supreme Court decision Tuesday striking down a key plank of the Voting Rights Act dramatically eases the way for states to push through stricter voting laws — and the flurry of action could reverberate into 2014 and beyond. Some states such as Texas moved within hours of the landmark ruling to implement so-called voter ID laws — requiring voters to show valid identification before they can cast ballots — that had been on hold. Others, such as swing state North Carolina, are expected to pass legislation this year that could complicate Democrats’ chances in 2014 midterm elections.
