| The President and First Lady wished the troops a merry Christmas with a visit to a U.S. Marine base on Tuesday. His appearance with servicemen at a Christmas ceremony was his last public stop in Hawaii before he cuts short his vacation and flies back to Washington to return to negotiations over the fiscal cliff. Barack Obama is expected to arrive in Washington early Thursday, the White House said Tuesday night. Michelle Obama and the couple´s two daughters will remain in Hawaii. In the past, the president´s end-of-the-year holiday in

Yeah, they are going overboard on these photo ops with veterans and soldiers. I think they are just hoping to polish their legacy. This must be the transparency they wanted because we see right through it.

Doesn´t every woman wear a cap sleeved day dress with big tall brown suede (outdoor) boots? Intended to go above the knee, the boots have had to give that up. Yes, she´s a mess.
As for her being surprised by big Bo´s wanting to be a lap dog, the video puts the lie to that as well. She coyly motions him into her lap. This is obviously not a first. May be the only bodily contact she gets with any being.

The ALIbama´s visit to the Marine Base to boost the morale of our fighting forces can be called an official trip and, therefore, paid for by the government with tax payer money. He used this little ruse all through his three plus years of campaigning. You know, make an "official visit´ to a fire station or a school or a solar panel manufacturer and his trip is paid for by us.
I just pray that some time in the future somebody with some guts will demand that all of this ´stolen´ money be accounted for and returned to our treasury.

If the photo-op flunkies had put up cardboard cutouts of marines in lieu of flesh and blood ones, I truly don´t believe The Won would have noticed the difference.
These brave marines, soldiers, and airmen are merely props in his epic life story, as he imagines it.

Does Mo pick these inappropriate "costumes" all by herself? If so, her taste is only in her mouth. Gosh, we can do better than this for a First Lady! It goes without saying about the C-I-C.
No matter how much I can´t stand Mo & Big BO, the dog BO is precious and I´d love to own him.
My three dear, sweet guys that I have owned over the course of thirty plus years, have gone on to doggie heaven. They all were similar in appearance to BO and just as much big babies who liked to sit on laps. They always seemed to be understanding of when I was happy or sad, which endeared them all the more to me.
One of my favorite songs sung by Doctor Dolittle expressed my great wish: "If I Could Talk To The Amimals". Now we have two cats which we love, but they just don´t convey the same understanding as our dogs did. Maybe I need to work on their language "catonese" a little harder.

Probably the only marines 0blamer saw were the ones assigned ton caddy for and guard him on the Kanehoe golf course. The real question however, is will 0blamer [pay for the added cost of flying the family home from vacation on a separate flight from his. If he had any sense of responsibility he would be setting an example by spending our money wisely, instead of wasting it on his own show of "how great I am".

Amazing what you can get away with when the mediots are running interference for you. BO goes on golfing vacation #666 or so and then "comes back early" to solve a problem. So, it´s all good.
Wish this logic was OK for the rest of us. We could then:
Rob a bank of $100,000, give back $10.00 and say it´s all good.
Take a week off work "sick" to go golfing, then show up an hour before quitting time on Friday and, hey, it´s all good.
Run out on the kids at age 3 then show up at the wedding with a gift, and, hey, it´s all good.
Remember the mediot fuss made of GWB´s visits to his ranch, even after conceding that the place was set up with everything needed to fulfill all Presidential duties and responsibilities?

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell´s campaign has contacted the FBI after a recording of a private strategy meeting was published Tuesday in a liberal publication, claiming the campaign was the victim of "Watergate-style tactics" to bug the office. Several snippets of the audio from the February strategy sessions were published Tuesday by Mother Jones magazine, along with a lengthy article. The recording, obtained from an unnamed source, included McConnell aides discussing ways to politically damage actress Ashley Judd, who at the time was talked about as a possible McConnell challenger.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
