Americans from coast to coast hit the road and hopped aboard planes this week en route to their winter holiday destinations, hoping to make the most of what little vacation time they get during the year. Unlike in countries like Australia and Brazil, where workers enjoy more than a month off each year, most people in the U.S. only get to have about two weeks off, and many don’t even use all of their vacation time out of fear of losing their job or appearing lazy in the eyes of their co-workers and managers. For comparison, workers down under

I´m too busy working paying for the 47% of those who don´t pay taxes, for those constantly making excuses because they have children, for disabled, i.e, missing most of their frontal lobe. Think the above encompasses about 80% of the workforce....If I´ve offended anyone too bad...

It´s not that I´m afraid for my job, because that is in the Lord´s very capable hands, but I turned back 5 days this year simply because I was too busy to take a day off. I´m "interrupt driven", so when the phone rings I have to take the call. Pretty disappointing at times, I assure you.

My husband, after many years, now gets 4 weeks vacation. The past 4 years we have gone NOWHERE because we have to borrow days to make ends meet when there is no work.

If fact we have already used half of our 2013 days already.

I was soooo hoping for a different result on November 6th.

For the last five years we have watched President Obama try time and again to use government to create jobs. More government spending. More government programs. Just more and more federal government. And time and again, he has failed to actually create jobs—to the tune of unemployment still sitting above seven percent. I know some people believe if you say something enough, it will come true. After "If you like your health insurance you can keep your health insurance," I would hope the president would finally realize that’s not how things work. And no matter how many times he says

Paul´s wife, Kelley, made similar remarks in a Vogue profile last year, and her husband agreed with her Sunday in an interview on NBC´s "Meet the Press." Rand Paul said the scandal is about more than just infidelity and lying to the American people, but also as "predatory behavior" from the former president. AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas started a trend by making most of its high school students tackle algebra II. But eight years later, the state often watched for education policy is abandoning the requirement. The move is being praised by school districts for affording them more flexibility. But some policy experts are nervous because nearly 20 states have since followed Texas´ lead in requiring the advanced math course. Supporters say fewer curriculum mandates give students more time to focus on vocational training for high-paying jobs that don´t necessarily require a college degree.

Stephen Hawking has produced a "mind-bending" new theory that argues black holes do not actually exist - at least not in the way we currently perceive them. Instead, in his paper, Information Preservation and Weather Forecasting for Black Holes, Hawking proposes that black holes can exist without 'event horizons', the invisible cover believed to surround every black hole.During a previous lecture, 'Into the Black Hole', Hawkins described an event horizon as the boundary of a black hole, "where gravity is just strong enough to drag light back, and prevent it escaping".
“Falling through the event horizon, is a bit like going over Niagara Falls in a canoe", he said. "If you are above the falls, you can get away if you paddle fast enough, but once you are over the edge, you are lost. There's no way back.

The number of people enrolled in private health insurance under Obamacare has soared by more than one-third in recent weeks to around 3 million, according to government data released on Friday. Marilyn Tavenner, administrator of the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), announced the preliminary tally in a blog posting. She forecast that enrollment through new federal and state health insurance marketplaces would continue to grow in coming weeks as a public outreach campaign accelerates. The new data adds to evidence that President Barack Obama´s administration has turned the corner on enrollment after a botched October 1 launch.
