Politics 2012: It hasn´t been two months since Barack Obama won re-election, but already we´re finding out things that were kept from us during the campaign. Expect to hear more in the coming months. lElections are clarifying events, we´re told. But sometimes what they clarify is merely the gap between what we were told during the campaign and the reality on the ground. Often, the two don´t match. That´s certainly true with Obama. How often in recent weeks have we learned that what we heard on the campaign trail from the Obama camp, and which were echoed by
Comments: ACTUALLY only the Low Information Voters WILLINGLY drank the Hussein brand of Flavor-Aid. A LOT of us were NEVER DUPED from the beginning about the Godless Humanist Hussein Regime or the Democrat Party.
Anymore I just call ´em two times stupid! Hey, it´s just easier than using the more lengthy, but far more accurate reference of: Dumbed-down, barely aware, dope-smoking, self-absorbed, media-influenced, celebrity-obsessed, Food-Stamp wielding, Kool-Aid drinking, entitlement rich, uninformed, government-dependent, busted-ass Obamaphone zombies as well as the ignorant, gullible, White guilt-ridden, Volvo-driving, Birkenstock-wearing, bottled-water-drinking, Politically Correct, Xanax-disabled, Valium-dependent liberal lemmings!
Most people don´t read. I think we underestimated the power of shows like the View, Leno, Letterman to influence the idiots. None of them even know where Benghazi is. The Idiocracy wasn´t a movie, it was a documentary.
Yes, those who voted for him were duped. Have they "found" that they were duped? No. The kool-aid has long-lasting effects, and the denial is so deep, I don´t know what it will take - judging from the libs & black on my radar.
The Dems and the Press have been lying to the People for 4 years. The biggest lie is that taxes won´t go up and big government will care for you better than you could. Within a month, people will begin to learn the hard way, when even more lose jobs, everyone pays more taxes, and the free healthcare doesn´t develop.
It wouldn´t have mattered if the man had a history of this kind of behavior, they would have voted for him. He does have that history. It wouldn´t have mattered if he had written books and given speeches that said what he planned to do, they would have voted for him. He did write the books and give the speeches. It wouldn´t have mattered if he had a history, for four years, on the national stage and that the country he led lost:money, lives, futures, its Constitution, they would have voted for him. And he did ALL of the previously mentioned things.....and now has four more years to destroy MY COUNTRY!
I would say ´´elections have consequences´´ but that´s getting old and tired. The past two elections have been carried by unions, white guilt and low information voters. And they don´t seem to give a damn about consequences...
I say bull to this article, especially to this line, "So were Americans duped? Sure. They were told to believe one thing only to discover right after the election reality was something else." Everything the writer says was hidden from the masses was there all of the time. They didn´t want to know. Now the writer tells us it´s all come out since the election. Bull. The people who voted for O still aren´t paying attention. To paraphrase Hooper in "Jaws", "They aren´t going to believe there´s a shark out there until comes up and bites them in the arse."
The truth about BO and the complete failure of progressive philosophy is readily available and obvious. The majority of people CHOOSE to believe something else and continue to do so. They live in fantasy land.
Nor is this unprecedented. FDR was elected over and over even though his policies were extending and deepening the depression. People will believe what they want, even in the face of obvious evidence. It took a World War to pull us out of FDR´s idiocy.
What will it take this time? World collapse? Arab terrorists launching a nuclear attack?
This is the risk of democracy, people can "elect" to be morons.
The difference between then and now is, they are elected not in spite of their dishonesty, but because of it. The Idiot Electorate loves that Barack Obama is fooling everyone and that the utterly corrupt Court Eunuch media is acting as his armed guards. They love it. Country be damned, they love it.
They were not duped. They wanted free stuff and not a job. They voted for the Kenyan idiot welfare boy because he promised them free stuff paid for by those of with jobs. They intended this result. Now we just have to pay for it or revolt. I already bot my guns.
I am going to copy this article and send it to my SIL who is 80..and altho an intelligent woman..a low information voter or I should say no information voter..she voted for BHO twice...it boggles the mind..she has no cable..just the alphabets and PBS..and our local paper.which has turned into a liberal rag..she even filled in her mother´s absentee ballot for BHO..MIL is 104 and doesn´t have a clue of course at this point.. It makes me crazy but at this point, I am not going to start a family issue..but, I did show her something that she didn´t know..actually she doesn´t know what she doesn´t know...she always said she hated GWB because he didn´t do anything for AIDS..then I had to print out what Bob Geldorf and Bono said about W..of course, she said..well, I didn´t know that!!! AAAARGH!!!!

I quit sending these informative articles to my relatives when I found out were just deleting them and making fun of me behind my back. When the crash comes and they come asking for food, I´ll tell them to get it from Obama and slam the door in their face.
though i voted for rom i am glad he didn´t win. zero and the dems need to wade through the mess they created. i don´t want the repubs to be blamed for the trouble we are facing. i lived through the great depression and though i was 4 years old i never forgot it.
#39 ~ I appreciate your point of view... but Bush will continue to be blamed for any negative outcomes over the next 4 years. The LiMi (Low-information, Media-influenced) voters are now running the show
Even with all he stolen votes(2 million more blacks and latinos than in 2008) Obama still got barely over 50% and if read the news it looks like there´s only 10 conservatives left in this country. They´re trying desperately to break the back of small businesses which makes the employer and employees independent of gov´t handouts. Besides if you´re white and go to a social service office, they´ll call the cops on you for being an intruder.
The college crowd loves the free living expense money they get from Obama. I say free because they expect loan forgiveness any time now.
On the other hand you have some high profile blacks saying Obama is too white and he´s shunning the brother´s needs.
Absolutely many of Obama supporters were duped, but many knew exactly what they were voting for - they are kindred spirits. I´m not so sure so many favor him, however; and I don´t believe for a minute the last election was an honest one; ergo, I don´t know how many were duped.
Blaming Republicans and branding them the party of the rich is very long standing. Herbert Hoover, and the Republicans, were blamed for the depression forever after. . When I was working at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft during WWII a co worker was amazed to learn that I was a Republican and asked me to confess that it was because I came from a wealthy family.
We hear all the time that Republican leadership does not explain clearly enough, allows itself to be vilified, etc. But think what Republicans are up against. The first thing an immigrant is told when he arrives here is that the Republicans are the party of the rich. They swallow that whole. Not many are smart enough to see they are being misled and most of the ones who do are from countries that had communist governments. No one pays any attention to them.
I have a cousin who recently told me that she feels so sorry for President Obama. That he doesn´t want to, but he has to raise taxes to help pay for the mess that he inherited from President George W. Bush. I replied that it´s been four years and isn´t it time for the President to take some responsibility for our present state of economic disarray? She said that we are not in disarray - that President Obama saved General Motors and that our economy is growing by leaps and bounds and that the President just needs a little more help from the ´richest people´. I asked her if she knew how much General Motors still owed the taxpayers of the United States. She said General Motors is making huge profits, has paid off its entire debt (!!!), and is more profitable than ever. I asked her if she is still getting her disinformation from, ´The View´. She said, of course - those ladies really keep up on things.
Was she ´duped´ into voting for President Obama? Not at all - she still agrees with, and supports, him and the Democrat talking heads 100%. As for me, I´d like to say more, but it´s holy Christmas day.

Imagine the following NY Times headline and sub-headlines and enjoy, if only:
"ROMNEY RETRACTS CONCESSION, DEMANDS INVESTIGATION OF 2012 ELECTIONS-Electors on hold after injunction issued by unanimous DC Appeals Court
-Whistleblowers coming forward with documents, tapes, photos of "irrefutable evidence" of stolen Romney/GOP senate candidates´ votes- Upwards of 12-20MM pub votes "machine expunged" discovered, now recovered and being held, FEC spokesman claims-
It would be great news if Americans know already that they were duped but willful ignorance is not overcome this easily. It takes lots of real suffering and all of us will have a full share in that whether we were among the duped or not.
Many people I know that voted for PBO voted because of his skin color, period. It did not matter what his politics were - his skin is black and that´s what counts.
I heard The Great One, Mark Levin, one day and he made this statement: leftists don´t care about solutions to problems, they only want to control you - so very true - who cares if laws they pass work (and we know most don´t - look at Chicago and the gun laws) just as long as they take away the rights of the law abiding citizens!!
Every employer that has to lay off a worker, cut back their hours or start deducting from the employees pay for health insurance should do so with the explanation of ‘If you voted for Obama, campaigned for Obama or did not vote,’ thank Obama for what is happening to you and many, many others.
How polite! How genteel! How politically correct! How close to me is the nearest air-sickness (barf) bag because I really don’t wanna make a big mess right here on this brand new carpet?
There’s just something fundamentally absurd about allowing people who know nothing about anything to be given the right to vote in an election held in the United States of America. Scooping up busloads of oblivious, totally ignorant people, getting them registered and then carting them off to precincts, after telling them how to vote and who and what to vote for, and then labeling what they’ve done their “ground game” ought to result in a one-way trip to court and prison.
Unfairness? Voter suppression? And dare we forget those who can be depended upon to reflexively make the accusation of racism?
On the old Radio and TV game show, “You Bet Your Life,” host Groucho Marx used to give contestants who won nothing at least a chance to win something by answering the question, “Who was buried in Grant’s Tomb?” They’d say “Grant” and win a consolation prize. However, in truth, one is entombed, not buried, in a tomb. Details! Details! Details!
#17,Fool me once, shame on thee. Fool me twice shame on me. Fool me thrice, the fool I be!
These weren´t duped, they were doped with the drug "freestuff." What bothers me most is that many well educated, intelligent, and at least partially informed are the "idiots" that put the Squatter back in office.
It is the "dopes" in the GOP that don´t have to guts to dig up the fraud that overcame the well informed. It is the hard working of US that got duped and are going to have to defend our freedoms that are rapidly being stolen by the "dopes."
Its time to send him packing, call your Congressman to vote him out of office on Jan. 3, 2013, because he is not qualified to hold the office of President. It is, as matter of fact, their duty. He is not qualified to be President under Article II, Section 1.
It only requires as simple majority under Amendment 20 of the Constitution. The House of Representatives must determine if he is qualified to hold office. He is not.
He is, by virtue of his father, a British subject, and once a subject, always a subject. That is make clear in Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution. All those dual citizens, born before the Constitution was ratified, were permitted to be President. All born after were, by law, not British subjects if both parents were only American citizens.
Obama does not meet the requirement of being born prior to the ratification of the Constitution, and as a consequence, is not qualified to hold that office.
Educate your Congressman. It only takes a majority to dethrone him.
I don´t think anyone was duped. Obozo simply promised everybody a free ride and lots and lots of free "stuff" and it would all be paid by taxing "the rich". And it was bought by enough people to win re-election. It´s that simply. If you surveyed Obozo voters, you would probably find out that the majority of the don´t know where Lybia, Syria, Israel, or any place know as the middle east is. Give them a map and they couldn´t find any of these places. The only bit of federal policy they know is how to scam the system to get their free stuff. At that, the excel beyond belief.
#53 has got it right. We were not duped; we were defrauded. Yes there are low information voters and dupes and idiots, but there are also evil people who will stop at nothing to destroy this country.
Read "Master Plan to Steal an Election" at www.brushfires-of-freedom.com/steal-an-election.html That´s what happened. That´s why there is no sense of momentum or support behind anything Obama is doing or wants to do, and in fact there is growing resistance. He didn´t win. He lied, cheated and stole, and he is being aided and abetted by our left-wing media. And everyone senses it.
#51-----Yes, yes, yes! These voters are still blaming Bush for this mess. Obama is the innocent by-stander. He didn´t do anything except carry on Bush´s failures. The biggest one was TARP!!!! We all know that TARP was the result of Democrat financial failure. That´s why the morons love to blame Bush, because in their little pea brains history started with that Bush blunder. The Dems started it and can´t seem to finish it. We are in for a long dark period in our history if we cannot stop blaming Bush.
Rush said we used to call the low-information voters "morons". But watch your 401Ks. Levin interviewed a professor from the New School, a small college in New Jersey. Her name is Theresa Ghirarducci (sp might be off slightly). She proposes that 401Ks are a bad deal for the US and the Taxes missing frome that total $81 bilion,i.e that tax-payer saves and the govt does not get. Also the boomers and beyond are looking like they will run out of money in their retirement.(Further there is no SS for boomers in a cash acct, just a chit from the feds, my comment) So briefly her propsal is that the govt takes the 401Ks and puts that amt with the chit for the Social Security amount and issues a 4.4% annuity to all retirees. It might extend to IRAs too. Listen to her interview at www.marklevinshow.com This propsal has had Congressional RFI hearings and it is moving forward, I think. Professor says current plan is a bad deal for the USA, better to get the 4.4% the govt determines for you. This could happen over night.
Wait until working Americans receive their first paychecks of 2013, just as the Christmas bills are coming due, right before Obama´s second inauguration. Maybe then it will dawn on Obama voters what they have done to America on November 6. Maybe not. Low information and all.
Speaking of low information, the MSM´s wall-to-wall, glowing coverage of Obama, along with their nasty and relentless attacks on Mitt Romney, likely cost the Republicans 8 - 10% of the vote. The MSM stole this election for Obama.
#70, thank you for the link. I have said this all along. The numbers for the last election simply don´t add up to an Obama victory. And again, all this talk about all the other reasons why Romney lost simply weakens who we are. When democrats lose they don´t rethink their message. They get more determined, more strident and more vicious. And, they continue to win, even when they lose. We don´t need to change our message; we need to change our methods.
Obama reminds me of Jim Jones. When persuasion failed, Jim Jones told his goons to force the people to drink the KoolAid. Can you imagine how the Johnstown mess must have looked to the poor healthcare workers when they saw the bodies. I hope the Obama Government (since the do not believe in God) do not end up looking like Johnstown.
Time magazine gave us a hint a few weeks ago what the administration might be thinking about 401Ks and IRAs. There is between 3 and 4 trillion dollars sitting untaxed in both types of accounts. The government could take those accounts from the owners and give an owner, instead, a 3% interest rate return of their funds for life. Upon death the funds would not go into your estate. Since they are already held by the USG they would revert to the US Treasury. Argentina did this with retirement accounts some time ago. With 16 trillion in US debt this would be still only be a drop in the bucket but the fact of these untaxed funds just sitting out there might be too temping for the government to resist.
We were duped by the RNC. They spent a billion of our dollars and failed to deliver the obvious message of the criminality of Obama and his dictatorial czars. Millions more would have voted if only told the truth.
The lies are continuing & expanding... There is a tv spot running on cable channels that is selling Obama coins... And the speel of great Obozo accomplishments they list are absolutely hilarious... if it wasn´t so sad.
My daughter goes to a university in Ohio, and she told me that she doesn´t know anyone there who voted for Romney. She said they think that "he hates women," and that he "would close down Planned Parenthood" and then "poor women wouldn´t have anywhere to go to get their mammograms." My daughter knows this is malarky. I told her that if PP gives ANY mammograms, it´s probably an accident, and as far as I know, they only give referrals! (My daughter did NOT vote for Obama.)
Remember that the Dems have the Senate and (2) TWO Supreme Court Judgeships are soon to become eligible. So bad as it is and appears it will be NOW, IT WILL GET WORSE when the Dems get in charge and pick up another Kagen and Sonia.
They were willingly duped. America´s basic belief system is Beat The System. Something for nothing. The free lunch. More Free Stuff. Rules are for suckers. Rules created by lawyers, people trained to manipulate, distort, and pervert language, people immune from their own rules. A tax system designed for thieves and frauds. Rules so complex and incomprehensible that lawyers don´t bother to read them. They know what the deal is. Beat the System, rig the system, beat the suckers.
The Obama voter voter wanted something for nothing, and expected someone else to pay for it. Obama said (lied) he could do that. It might work for a while, but not long term. The Obama voter is about to learn there is no such thing as a free ride. Regretably, the Obama voter will refuse to figure this out so Obama is safe.
Obama voters only care about the handouts and all the free stuff. They and the union drones, public and private, will not vote for anyone who in anyway could be a threat to their gravy train. They care about nothing else. They now have the real Americans outnumbered. Those whose votes that should really count the most elected Romney president by a landslide.
It was the 47% that do not pay income taxes, the 47 million that extract Food Stamps, the young that do not want to repay student loans, the millions on permanent fraudulent disability. The Communists/Progressives knew exactly what they were doing. In the end their purpose is to destroy Christian Civilization.
We truly are surrounded by idiots. Dupes. Socialists. Activists. Community Organizers. Homosexuals. Lesbians. Unwed Mothers. Welfare Lovers. Foodstamp lovers. Politician liars and thieves. Fake organizations (Acorn, Aclu, et al) full of conniving, phony, far left dweebs. Twerps. Sissies. Illegals. Racists who vote only for their own race.Hollywood boneheads and Advertising liars. Media lap-dog rump-swab Hussein-lovers. Twisted left-wing academic advisors who indoctrinate rather than teach. And, as Rush so aptly named them, "low-information voters" who permeate our university campuses, neighborhoods, and ghettos across America, seeking gifts and handouts rather than true American leadership. Is it any wonder we´re going to Hades in a handbasket?
Merry Christmas to whats left of our American heritage. And a Happy New Year.
RUSH: Let´s go to the audio sound bites. The gross domestic product number is out. And, by the way, I don´t know what this is. There´s a new way of measuring the GDP. The Obama administration is measuring it in an entirely different way, which is showing growth. The standard measure of gross domestic product is showing flat. But this new measure, which the media is applauding and loving, is showing a growth rate of 1.7%, and it´s being hailed. The stock market earlier today was having a pretty good day.
RUSH: In one hour, we´re gonna have Utah Senator Mike Lee on the program to explain in detail and in an understandable way what he´s trying to do. As you know, Mike Lee is leading the effort to defund Obamacare in the United States Senate. The entire Republican establishment has aligned against him. Consultants, establishment bigwigs, party bigwigs, even some donors have aligned against him because they are convinced that attempting to defund Obamacare at the next negotiation, the end of September, on a continuing resolution will lead to a government shutdown,
RUSH: Here´s Brad in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It´s great to have you on the EIB Network. Hi. CALLER: Mega dittos, Mr. Limbaugh. A pleasure to speak to you. I told your call screener there that I am an attorney. I teach law. I´m a former public official and a Republican, and I advise my clients and my students, "You can´t take legal advice from the people across the table. They´re going to give advice, obviously, that is in favor of their position." RUSH: Exactly. CALLER: That sounds so obvious, why even say that, right?
IRS-Gate: From stonewalling Congress to Federal Election Commission collusion to harassment of already-tax-exempt conservative groups, the IRS scandal metastasizes. Someone high-up was clearly giving orders. ´Phony scandals," to use President Obama´s term, should not generate near-daily news coverage from a media that would like nothing better than to see its dream president let off the hook. Yet everywhere you look comes another bolt of lightning keeping this Frankenstein monster "alive!": • In addition to conservative organizations being ultra-scrutinized in applying for tax-exempt status, existing conservative groups like Morton Blackwell´s Leadership Institute, around since 1979, and the
So why did the French Revolution — initially premised on the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity — come to be defined by the guillotine, regicide, rivers of blood and the Reign of Terror? To reveal a common historic error, the revolution didn´t start pristine and somehow get hijacked by the likes of Maximilien de Robespierre. He and his notorious Committee of Public Safety ruled through terror and systematically beheaded thousands at the guillotine. The violence was there from the very start, in the bloodcurdling words of the revolution´s propagandists — journalists, pamphleteers and writers, some of whom
The good news is that the Commerce Department´s second-quarter GDP report shows that the U.S. is richer and the economy larger than previously believed. The bad news is that this has nothing to do with anything that has happened lately, and certainly not in the last nine months. The current not-so-great economic recovery trudges on. *** Wednesday´s second quarter report is especially interesting because it includes economic revisions based on new assumptions that re-measure the size of the U.S. economy going back to 1929. The Bureau of Economic Analysis does this every five years or so,
Graft: The relationship between the Clintons and the wife of embattled Anthony Weiner grows curiouser and curiouser. Forget sexting; this may be the real scandal. And one senator sees a possible criminal element to it. Republican Chuck Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is demanding documents from the State Department shedding more light on the private consulting work that Huma Abedin, aka Mrs. Weiner, performed while working for the government, where she had access to top secret information. Abedin served as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton´s deputy chief of staff, where she earned $135,000 a year.
If we learned anything about Barack Obama in his first term it is that when he starts repeating the same idea over and over, what´s on his mind is something else. The first term´s over-and-over subject was "the wealthiest 1%." Past some point, people wondered why he kept beating these half-dead horses. After the election, we knew. It was to propagandize the targeted voting base that would provide his 4% popular-vote margin of victory—very young voters and minorities. They believed. He won. The second-term over-and-over, elevated in his summer speech tour, is the shafting of the middle class. But
President Obama promised to mend the failings in the American health-care system, and yet for cancer treatment, ObamaCare is taking a rotten feature of the old system and making it worse. The Affordable Care Act expands a program called 340B, which siphons money from drug makers and insurers to subsidize certain hospitals. The program has been expanded as a way to offset some of the cuts that the law imposes on hospitals. One significant side effect: 340B is increasing the cost of cancer care—and harming its quality. When the program began in 1992, its aim was to support
Most Americans would agree that academic freedom is a sacred right of the academy and crucial to the American experiment in democracy. But what is it really? That´s the question raised by the Associated Press´s July 16 release of emails between Mitch Daniels, when he was the governor of Indiana, and his staff concerning Howard Zinn´s "A People´s History of the United States." The emails were written in 2010 and Mr. Daniels, whose second term as governor ended this January, is now president of Purdue University in Indiana. Published in 1980, Zinn´s "A People´s History"
Fiscal Policy: President Obama has proposed a "grand bargain" with Republicans: They get a tax cut for corporations, he gets more money to spend on worthless government stimulus. That´s no bargain — that´s surrender. In the latest attempt by Democrats to disguise GOP capitulation as centrist "compromise," Obama said he´ll sign off on a cut in the corporate tax rate from 35% to 28% — with an even lower rate of 25% for manufacturers — if Republicans will agree to spend more on Obama´s "investments" and OK a tax hike on U.S. companies doing business overseas.
In Chattanooga on Tuesday, the latest stop on his economic inequality tour, President Obama made himself an offer he couldn´t refuse. If Congressional Republicans agree to a corporate tax increase, he said, then he´ll agree to spend more money on his favorite public-works projects. If Republicans bargain hard, will he also offer an expansion of ObamaCare as a sweetener? We know this sounds like an exaggeration, but that´s the essence of what the President proposed as what he called a new "grand bargain." Mr. Obama will agree to reform the corporate tax code—a GOP priority and one
It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. But within a decade, it is expected that the ocean which the village of Kivalina has so relied on will completely destroy it--creating America´s first climate change refugees. Temperatures in the Arctic region of Alaska are warming twice as fast as the rest of the U.S, causing ice to retreat, sea levels to rise and coastal erosion to increase. It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. The 400 indigenous Inuit inhabitants of Kivalina, who live
Arizona Sen. John McCain was the Republican Party´s 2008 presidential nominee and he still wants the keys to the Oval Office. But he is beginning to sound more like a fan of likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "She´s a rock star," he said in a newly released interview. "She has, maybe not glamour, but certainly the aura of someone widely regarded throughout the world," he added in a reference to her work as secretary of State. McCain, reportedly trying to win back his reputation as a GOP maverick, was asked by the New Republic
President Obama has been rolling up his sleeves campaigning across the country delivering a surreal stump speech message supposedly aimed at the middle class: big government works, Obamacare is manna from heaven, the wave of recent scandals are “phony” figments of the imagination, and all economic problems are the fault of the Republicans. Conveniently, he leaves out the bankruptcy of Detroit, a city run by his own party for more than half a century. His message is so stale and unconvincing, that even The New York Times and Washington Post have noticed. Both papers, usually loyal to Obama, remarked that
FORNEY, Texas - George Zimmerman, the former Florida neighborhood watch leader cleared of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was pulled over for speeding in North Texas on Sunday, CBS DFW reports. According to the station, Zimmerman was armed when officers pulled him over on Highway 80 in Forney, east of Dallas. (Snip) The officer reportedly did not recognize Zimmerman, who was driving a Honda pickup. Zimmerman told the officer he was armed and was then told to put the weapon in his glove compartment, according to the station.
Gotta figure her lead would be even bigger without Joe Miller in the field here. Her nomination for the taking? Alaska should be a top tier pick up opportunity for Senate Republicans next year…but their top choice of a candidate is Sarah Palin. 36% of GOP primary voters in the state say they’d like Palin to be their standard bearer against Mark Begich to 26% for Mead Treadwell, 15% for Dan Sullivan, and 12% for Joe Miller.
Embattled Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner and an attorney in the Federal Election Commission’s general counsel’s office appear to have twice colluded to influence the record before the FEC’s vote in the case of a conservative non-profit organization, according to e-mails unearthed by the House Ways and Means Committee and obtained exclusively by National Review Online. The correspondence suggests the discrimination of conservative groups extended beyond the IRS and into the FEC, where an attorney from the agency’s enforcement division in at least one case sought and received tax information about the status of a conservative group,
Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. The room full of Democrats — who happened to be meeting in the same room where the Senate GOP usually holds their weekly policy luncheons — erupted in applause and laughter as the former Republican presidential candidate made his entrance. As McCain, 76, walked out of the Dem-filled space, reporters pressed him as to why he stepped foot in the room.
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria. Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.
I never thought the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case deserved nearly the attention it got. But reasonable people can disagree about that. What strikes me as unconscionable, however, is the way the supposedly objective media have not only sensationalized a tragedy but at times appear to deliberately bend the facts to fit a desired story line. Maybe it started with the use of pictures of a younger Martin or with the sudden embrace of the term "white Hispanic" to describe Zimmerman in order to more easily paint him as a racist. NBC News was the most egregious offender
No matter how much you may hope for it, it seems unlikely that you´ll be using the phrase "Senator Sarah Palin" with any great regularity in 2015. A new poll indicates that the former Alaska governor is about as popular in the state as Barack Obama — which is to say, not very popular at all. But even more surprising, while the former vice presidential candidate has made Alaska a central part of her public image, the state´s residents split on the question of whether Palin is all that Alaskan.
