Boehner´s clumsiness and incoherence on the fiscal cliff are one thing but having reprisals on his own members who don´t tow the line is something else.

No matter what kind of stupor the House republicans are in,Obama still needs them to allocate money,so they have more leverage than people think.

Obama and his henchmen desperately want the republicans to cave on taxes because they think it´ll be the end of them as a party.

Newt would be great but Ryan should be the guy.

I just want a speaker who doesn´t negotiate with himself in front of every microphone available in the capitol building. That drives me up a wall when Boehner starts discussing all his various options with reporters.

Exactly #10. The Speaker does not need to be a member of the house. I suggested Newt yesterday. I also believe that the Majority Leader and Majority Whip does not have be a member of the house. My suggestions for these positions would be Allen West and Herman Cain. We need people that will fight back.

Oh, come on! With the last election, didn´t this country signal it wanted more incompetent leadership? And, with the universal support for jfkerry, can´t we now acknowledge that we have a congress full of gutless, immoral scum? Boehner will remain because the dems/pubbies (can you tell the difference?)have decided they like the way things are going.

Yeah, and an HONEST ballot could have ended Obama´s presidency.

The Constitution does not require that the Speaker be an elected Member of Congress, but no non-member has ever been elected to the office. Make history. VOTE NEWT. A proven entity.

Paul Ryan or someone who could articulate the debt issues and the insanity of the spending is what we need. Boehner, like the RNC, is only in this for the power grab, committee chairs, and perks that come with the office. A Tea Party revolt in Congress is what we need from Day 1 (actually two weeks before) Obama´s 2nd term begins. Let´s shut this operation down and wield an iron fist in the House. Ryan should also take on and expose Harry Reid. Let´s expose him as the real crook and union crony he is!

We need someone that can make the Low Information Voter (Obama´s crowd) understand what is going on.....explain it in terms that a 1st grader can understand. This person also needs to be able to stand up to Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc. He or she should be able to blast these people for what they are and not feel any guilt when doing it. I recommend Newt.

Boehner has been a pathetic Speaker and needs to go along with the whole RINO good old body network of big money Republicans who have destroyed the Party.

Don´t kid yourselves - a strident, ideology totin´ Speaker would give the MSM a field day and make a terrific foil for Obama. He would not, as some folks here might hope, be the magic change agent who´d awaken America from her stupor. Be glad there are not enough potential votes in the House to elect such an individual.

Boehner told obama that he got some tax increases and asked him what he was going to offer back and obama said that nothing was the answer.

Boehner should have found the nearest camera and stated that instead of having it leak out.
