VATICAN CITY — The pope pressed his opposition to gay marriage Friday, denouncing what he described as people manipulating their God-given identities to suit their sexual choices — and destroying the very “essence of the human creature” in the process. Benedict XVI made the comments in his annual Christmas address to the Vatican bureaucracy, one of his most important speeches of the year. He dedicated it this year to promoting traditional family values in the face of vocal campaigns in France, the United States, Britain and elsewhere to legalize same-sex marriage.

I know some people who are trans. God bless them, but they are so confused and really not happy. I would say they have a mental problem. They would say that society has the problem. I say they are wrong - but they need our prayers regardless.

Nice words, and good start, but until the Pope backs them up with some ´house cleaning´ regarding the cafeteria Catholics,(lib politicians to start) and better enforcement of CC beliefs, he doesn´t have much credibility here.

#5, this is how he housecleans. He states clearly what the Church teaches, then it is up to each individual to stand with or against him. He will not try to force anyone either in or out; in the same way, Jesus did not force Judas out of the Twelve.

First order of business: stop using the word gender. The correct word is "sex" to describe someone as either male or female.
The liberals are changing the language to suit their agenda. Around the mid-1990´s I noticed the first use of the word "gender" in place of "sex." Now it is everywhere.
Maleness or femaleness is innate. The use of the word gender follows the liberal disease of creating your own reality to suit your own desires. If today I "self-identify" as being of the male gender and tomorrow I self-identify as being of the female gender, I expect everyone to bow to my whims. For liberals, there is no objective reality, they are god and will decide what is real and what is not.
Liberals are nuts. Stop playing their game. Take back the language. Stop using the word gender.

I´m not a Roman Catholic, so I can´t really say who´s one and who´s not, but I do admire this pope (as I admired the last one) and it seems clear to me that he is addressing the issue of ´´cafeteria Catholics´´ by continuing to lay out, in clear language, what RCs should believe about a wide variety of issues. If you claim to be Catholic and disagree, then you deserve to get asked by what authority you are speaking. Most times you´ll hear them say, ´´My conscience,´´ as if conscience were supreme over the Bible and historic doctrine. There will come a time, I believe, when all this will get sorted out. We´ll see where the liberals in every denomination end up then.

The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.

SANFORD - Trayvon Martin´s parents have settled a wrongful death claim for an amount believed to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their teenage son was killed.
