Disgraceful: Obama Invokes Newtown
Massacre to Pressure Republicans to
Go Along with His Tax Hikes

PJ Media, by Bryan Preston

Original Article

Posted By:SoCalGal, 12/20/2012 12:51:19 PM

During his press conference today, called to announce his new gun control task force, President Obama invoked the Newtown massacre to apply pressure on congressional Republicans in the fiscal cliff standoff. OBAMA: If this past week has done anything it should give us some perspective. (Snip)get a deficit reduction deal in place, make sure middle class taxes don’t go up, make sure that we’re laying the foundations for growth, give certainty to businesses large and small, not put ourselves through some sort of self-inflicted crisis every six months, allow ourselves time to focus on things like preventing the tragedy

Comments:
Shameful. Shameless.

y´know, one of the things that was a bit offputting about McCain was that he wanted everything to be national security, which he understood and which supersedes all that pesky listening business. And Obama is kind of the same, always wanting to pitch things as desperate special cases so that all the usual processes and listening and participation and so on can be swept aside. Doesn´t want to listen. Fingers in his ears.

Obama goes to Newton to "comfort" the community and then switches back to politics as usual and goes on and on and on. He seems to like the sound of his own voice as he continuously bloviates. People have mostly just stoped listening. Boring---

If any republican had a pair, he would hold a press conference and announce that, to protect the future of all the survivors of Newtown, he was opposing any reforms that don´t expose Social Security as a Ponzi SScheme.

Nothing Obama or the leftist media does surprises me anymore. The only part I´m a little bit surprise is that it took him this long. I was expecting it in his speech at Newtown.

I want to hear about spending cuts!
Raising taxes so that Obama gets more money to waste is not going to fix this sick economy.
Obama is President, Harry Reid is Senate Leader..time for THEM to get to work cutting spending. REAL cuts, not the flim flam of baseline budgeting.

Beautiful Rosa Parks sits alone in the Montgomery, Ala., city bus she desegregated, an image endlessly replicated, most recently on an American postage stamp issued in February to commemorate Black History Month and what would have been Parks’s 100th birthday.(Snip) President Obama voiced the familiar view that she was “just wanting to get home after a long day at work” and “may not have been planning to make history.” But as Jeanne Theoharis shows in her insightful biography, “The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks,” this perspective obscures Parks’s lifelong activism and “fierce determination.”

Leaders of the five BRICS nations plan to create a development bank in a direct challenge to the World Bank that they accuse of Western bias. The bank would use $50 billion of seed capital shared equally between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa but would undoubtedly be dominated by China. It would be the first institution of the informal forum started in 2009 amid the economic meltdown to chart a new and more equitable world economic order.

SANFORD -- For the first time, we are hearing from the teenager believed to be the last person to talk to Trayvon Martin moments before his deadly confrontation with George Zimmerman. The teen, known only as "Witness 8," is considered to be the prosecution´s key witness, but Zimmerman´s attorneys said she lied during a deposition by the Martin family´s attorney, Benjamin Crump. A new motion filed Monday said the state knew Witness 8, said to be a girlfriend of Trayvon Martin´s from Miami, had been lying, but never came out with it.

SANFORD - Attorneys for George Zimmerman have filed a new defense witness list, and it includes more than 130 people. Among them: Trayvon Martin´s mother and father, their attorney Benjamin Crump, former Sanford police Chief Bill Lee Jr. and former State Attorney Norm Wolfinger. It also includes Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte and several other members of Trayvon´s family, including his step-brother and the Oviedo cousin with whom he´d spent the night the evening before he was fatally shot. Attorneys seldom call all the witnesses they list, still the list placed in the official court file Monday is extraordinary

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Jose Muñoz was an out-of-work 25-year-old Mexican immigrant who graduated with honors from his Sheboygan, Wisconsin high school in 2005. Since that time, Muñoz — who was brought to the United States at the age of one — has been out of school and out of work, instead spending time helping his family with household chores and countless hours playing sports

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
