I have stopped watching the news when the reporters with their concerned look come on. We all know it is ratings that is now driving this. I wish that the news would also leave those people alone and let their healing begin and let them comfort each other.

Excellent article but alas, the media are like ticks...once they latch onto something, they gorge themselves until there is no more blood. They then seek another victim...err, story!

I dream of the day that someone looks into the camera when an invasive reporter sticks the microphone in the person´s face and says "don´t all of you out there think these people are nothing but g-d vampires? They´re living off of the blood of others and pretending to be legitimately interested when all they want is more blood" or something like that. I like #3´s tick analogy, but it still seems to me that they are more like vampires - ticks at least don´t intend the harm they cause.

There might be some justification if some actual hard facts would come out. It seems the products of this harassment are merely rumor, speculation, and scam.

Allows them to aide and abet the gun grabbers in their next step, and gives them an excuse to ignore the Benghazi hearings and oblamer´s intransigence over the "fiscal cliff" negotions. Win win win for the socialist propaganda complex.

In addition to the on-site media, I have a huge problem with the TV doctors, psychiatrists, etc. who continue to diagnose and put labels on people they have never even seen. Those of us with someone we love who has aspergers just have to shake our heads and get angry. With each day that passes I have less and less respect for most of the media.

The media throughout have been reprehensible.

No sense of proportion, propriety, or humanity whatsoever.

By dumb [and bad] luck, I heard several minutes of Mike Gallagher the other day. ["The Happy Conservative Warrior" -- so he says; IMHO, you could stick your bare hand in a metaphorical knife-drawer full of Mike Gallaghers and pull it out without a scratch; same for several others.]

I thought the segment-opener was a parody of the media wallow re Newtown. Nope, It was his actual intro to the discussion or whatever he did from there. I hit the tuner button.

#5: The commercial aspect of all this is obvious and understood. But hey, drug dealers sell their stuff as part of an "economy." Buying and selling are legitimate acts. Choosing to make drugs the product traded isn´t. Same here. Furthermore, there is a huge difference of both kind and scale between an intrusive "journalist" [hah!] sticking a mike in the face of someone suffering hideous loss, doing it again and again [as well as searching-out people who might have been affected], with no honest human compassion, and any given private individual seeing it on their TV [or iPod, whatever], alone. All the more when they keep watching and keep watching the sufferers. A huge difference. Is that "rubbernecking" blameworthy? Yes. Are the actions of the media people far, far, far worse? Absolutely! Absolutely! Reporters and viewers are not at all "equally responsible," any more than the Boeing assemblers are as responsible as bin Laden or Atta for the 9/11/2001 murders.

This has given me much time to listen to my beautiful Christmas CD´s. This story was worn out to me by last Friday night. Once you cover the basics, that about does it except for the rubberneckers who have to hear every little detail.

I was worn out the second time they repeated themselves without any accurate facts at all.

If I ruled the world, when something like this shooting happens, the TV stations would grow a brain and a conscience. They would "cut in" to programming no more than once in fifteen minutes and if they had updates, they could scroll it along either the top or bottom of the screen, while continuing "regular" programming.

I detest all those supposed "experts" being "interviewed" (actually spouting unproven theories) ad nauseum while never knowing any facts and just inflaming the public.

Not wishing ill on anyone else, but if there is another tragedy, they will be out of there in a flash.

It´s morbid curiosity.
