| The State Department slammed former United Nations envoy John Bolton over his suggestion that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton falsely claimed a concussion to avoid a potentially embarrassing appearance before Congress to explain the deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya. In an appearance on Fox News, Bolton said that Clinton’s claim that she had fainted because of the flu, hitting her head and suffering a concussion, was what foreign service officers call a “diplomatic illness,” intended to free a diplomat from an unpleasant duty.
|
Comments: So, John Bolton steps up and call this "illness" balderdash. So, where are the GOP with the hearings? Are they going to postpone until she gets well enough to ...run for office [2016], and then get the witch´s testimony on Herself´s version for the Congressional Record?

Good for Bolton. The burden of proof is on Hillary. Even if she should "recover" she will, of course, have lapses in memory regarding critical events. That might get her past the hearings, but should disqualify her, like Tom Eagleton and others, for the job as POTUS.

If she eventually has to testify, claiming a ´concussion´ helps makes a case for her inevitable ´I don´t recall´. I would expect nothing less from ´the world´s smartest woman´.

Where exactly was she when she fell? Is there footage of the flop? Seems to be there should be since there´s cameras everywhere! Since she had such a severe ´´flop´´ she should not be able to run for any other office since her faculties are now more impaired than ever! The swearing in of ´´Madame Flopper´s´´ replacement should be stalled till she does testify UNDER OATH!

It wouldn´t matter if it was brown bottle flu, without exception my employers would require documentation within 24 hrs or I would be terminated. So, tell me how , without any hospital intervention, such a diagnosis was made.

This was actually a lighthearted jab but the thin skinned left can´t take it. It´s interesting that this phrase is well known through the community though.
They also claim Hillary has varying degrees of fatigue to get her a break. She can´t go on vacation because she´s already been everywhere at taxpayers expense. Condi didn´t go anywhere without a distinct purpose. We´re paying for the state dept to fly chefs around the world as an outreach measure.Despite the spending cliff we´re at.But according to the left there´s nothing to cut in gov´t and boehner is terrible at pointing out government waste to bolster spending cuts.
they just had something on about Medicare being billed $900 for a $100 back brace. Medicare and medicaid are wasting billions on crap like this..Of course bribes get things like this approved.

It is absolutely inconceivable that a Cabinet-level Secretary of State could suffer an injury as serious as a concussion without an ambulance taking her to Walter Reed, hospital admission records, doctor reports, X-rays, etc.
On the other hand, anyone can self-describe a lump on their head as a concussion. (And a mosquito bite is a wound.) Absent any medical records, that is the case here.
It has been demonstarbly proven that the State Department has consistently lied about Benghazi. So, tell me, why would anyone believe Shrillary and Nuland are suddenly truthful?

I´ll bet someone told her, a few weeks ago, that obama and company would lay the blame at her door. And she decided she had had enough and would not testify. After all, our congress is full of gutless people, why should she treat them any different than her master, obama, does? Her entire career has been comprised of being the kicked dog of powerful men. And liberal women think THAT is a reason to make her potus?

GardenGal, 12/20/2012 7:18:46 AM (No. 9075730)
The explanation is absurd. No one of any age is supposed to self diagnose a concussion. The normal thing that is done is a CAT scan to make sure no active bleeding or swelling is occurring. If they do this with young adults and teens, you can bet anything that such procedure would be done with an older woman who is much, much more likely to have a brain bleed.

They were expecting this. I noticed how, first on The Five - Beckel - and then Alan Colmes on O´Reilly both exhibited their shocked face and insulted demeanor at THEIR OWN suggestion that someone ELSE was suggesting that the Madame was faking this. Oh! The horrors!
Heck, maybe they even planned it this way.
But, if she ends up with the ´can´t recall´ memory lapse, then this ´concussion´ incident should disqualify her for ever holding the highest office in the land. She would not be able to make coherent, sound decisions with this in her medical history.
Then again, maybe THAT´s why she did not allow hospitalization ... no records to lose - uh, I mean, to produce.

The Clintons seem to find a way to squirm out of everything. Maybe Hillary should wear a helmet when walking (drinking) to try to avoid another concussion.
It´s odd isn´t it that football players have to be hit with great force to get a concussion, and racecar driver have to have a really, really terrible accident to get a concussion, but Hillary? She falls while walking, gets a concussion. Her mind gets/was pickled. She can´t recall, poor dear.

It is so obvious that Mrs Clinton is trying to weasel out of testifying and everyone turns a blind eye to her pathetic excuse. This is what ticks me off to no end. The dems always get a pass when they out and out lie. They are never held accountable for anything they say or do. This country is like a huge dysfunctional family. The dems are the golden children and the republicans are the scapegoats and everything is their fault. Sorry about the juvenile rant, but this administration reduces me to whining from time to time.

Everybody should go back and watch the body language on the day that Hillary and Obumbum announced this tragedy to the world. Hillary looked awful -- really shaken and (dare I say) guilty. This was not the usual state department announcement. Subsequent announcemnets she´d recovered her poise somewhat. But I think she knows a lot more than she´s said publically and should have been debriefed 3 months ago.

Kinda reminds of um, old Russia and their modus, doesn´t it?
To find a big player like Hillary guilty of negligent homicide etc could be the beginning of holding this whole administration responsible for their foreign policy of aiding and abetting our enemies. That is an outcome they desperately want to avoid.

These accusations were made without any evidence at all. Now those self same leftists are all up in arms about any negative comments about Hillary´s fall. I don´t know what happened, but I have not heard one comment from the conservative side that Hillary had imbibed just a little too much Holiday Cheer before taking a face plant. Routine procedure for a patient experiencing head trauma is to rule out a subdural or epidural hematoma - this would never be ignored with the Secretary of the local Rotary Club much less Secretary of State. The current administration - all of them being the smartest guys in the room - think we are stupid.

Bolton was being gentle. When you get stomach flu and other intestinal disorders the effects dehydrate you. Being dehydrated is not good. The cure: rehydrate. When do we learn this awesome medical/scientific fact? At around the age of 12 or earlier. If you don´t rehydrate and make yourself so dizzy that you collapse and even concuss yourself, you are either ignorant or stupid. The PIAPS is either a fool or a liar; pick one. If a republican presidential candidate concussed himself the media would scream that s/he lacked the wherewithal to be president.

Especially after the widely publicized Natasha Richardson death from what was thought to be a ´´mild´´ brain injury, SoSt GreasyLocks would get immediate medical care, if the concussion in fact happened.... Which it obviously did not. Who ever thought this fiction would pass the smell test???

Hillary is the squirrel. The truth is not out, and won´t be without an impeachment trial of this communist crew, followed by hanging. It´s that serious. Lets start with testimony from the survivors, who may as well have also been killed, as they have been barried for over three months now. Bring them out! Put them under oath. Next tell of the mission of the "consulate"; i.e., buying Gadaffi weapons, storing them at the compound, and then getting ripped off by obama´s muslim brothers. AQ didn´t need no stinkin money; and Chris Stephens had to go as he knew too much, like killing the hit man to cover up the crime. This was a hit, and the truth stares us in the face. The bigger the front, the bigger the behind. We could get free of this conspiracy if we would did deeper. On a parallel track, we need to unseal all of Obama´s hidden records, and air out these lies about his past, and who planted this Pied Piper of communist collectivist muslim oppression in our midst.

# 29 is absolutely correct. Hillary , as Secretary of State , she absolutely would have had a CT , not to diagnoses a concussion, but , to rule out a subdural hematoma or fractured skull. Fainting and hitting one´s head is serious business. How long was she unconscious, did she have memory loss and confusion ? And what kind of medical care has this woman had , anyway ? Has " do it yourself " Obamacare already kicked in ? We´re told days prior that she´s ill with a stomach virus and yet, she apparently wasn´t treated properly because her dehydration and electrolyte imbalance escalated to the point where she was so ill, that she lost consciousness and suffered a head injury. Her fuzzy memory when she testifies will be blamed on the alleged concussion.

Hillary is a liar and an incompetent in everything she does. Her recent illness is due to the fact that her Benghazi lies are too big and too embarassing to cover up like she covered up the Billy/Monica affair. Hillary should retire, bake cookies and keep an eye on Bill before he exposes himself to a younger Paula Jones.

I haven´t done public relations in a while, but here is some advice for Chelsea and Mr. Bill. Stand by your Hillary!!!
I know you´re busy with holiday parties, so I´ll draft a statement for you: "We are concerned and cautiously optimistic about Hillary´s concussion, which is very troubling and disheartening to us. Please keep her in your thoughts and give our family the time and space we need as we support her in this difficult time."
Release to media and carry on with your holiday festivities, but, uh, up to now, you look uncaring and disengaged.

Shanghai & Hong Kong - China said it was mobilizing resources nationwide to combat a new strain of bird flu that has killed six people, as Japan and Hong Kong stepped up vigilance and the United States said it was closely monitoring the situation. All of the 14 reported infections from the H7N9 bird flu strain have been in eastern China and at least four of the six dead are in the financial hub of Shanghai, a city of 20 million people. The strain does not appear to be transmitted from human to human but authorities in Hong Kong raised a preliminary alert and said they were taking precautions at the airport.

The most rigorous study to date of how much it costs to care for Americans with dementia found that the financial burden is at least as high as that of heart disease or cancer, and is probably higher. And both the costs and the number of people with dementia will more than double within 30 years, skyrocketing at a rate that rarely occurs with a chronic disease. President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that
