Rep. John Lewis: ´The British are not
coming. We don´t need all these guns´

Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

Original Article

Posted By:CarrotFarmer87, 12/19/2012 5:21:50 PM

On Wednesday’s broadcast of “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC, Georgia Democratic Rep. John Lewis invoked the civil rights movement to rally support for increased gun control legislation. “Well, now is the time to act,” Lewis said. “It’s not a time for a commission, or more studies. It is time for action. It reminded me of another period, 1968, when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated. Robert Kennedy was assassinated. We can go back to 1963, when Medgar Evers was assassinated. We don’t need more weapons of mass destruction. Nothing saddened me more than last Friday.

Comments:
Someone really needs a history lesson. The guns are the reason they aren´t coming, for now...

King George wasn´t the only one with a tyrannical government.
Americans need to be vigilant with the current government.
The first and second amendments are under attack right now, Obamacare is UNconstitutional, no matter what John Roberts has to say.
We have a dysfunctional government.

So is John Lewis in favor of the police, in riot gear, forcibly disarming black gang members with their illegal guns? Is is this just against white people with legally owned guns?

The threat is from within. The Constitution was written to protect us from both foreign and domestic threats.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

Lewis (once again) makes a great case for term limits.

The colonies needed the guns to rid themselves of a tyrannical government who was imposing laws and taxes without the consent of the governed.

There´s a lesson there somewhere!

After all, that´s all it´s worth and they aren´t interested in hearing anything intelligent or engage in a real discussion in the first place.

1. He is a democrat

Actually, ´´Freedom Isn´t ´Free,´´ Rep. Lewis, but must always be protected & defended! -Remember your oath of office?! This is a country of laws based upon Constitutional principles for securing & maintaining Life and Liberty. The Founders in their Wisdom secured the Bill of Rights for each INDIVIDUAL American. Self defense is basic for each individual´s freedom. ...Look it up!

Since the Civil War ended in 1865, why does Lewis´s dem party, currently led by 0bama, use rhetoric more suited to at least 150 years ago than in the here-and-now twenty-first century?!! ...What´s up with THAT, Rep. Lewis? The dems & 0bama preach, ´´FORWARD,´´ but they seem stuck in history from ages past. Sometimes 0bama gets up to the ´30s and all that union rhetoric, but that is about as recent as he ever gets. mmm mmm mmm

When bad things happen the liberal response is always to tax, ban, or regulate. Their hope is that people will be too heartbroken to notice they´re more poor, less free, and increasingly burdened with a behemoth government that still can´t keep bad things from happening.

On Sean Hannity’s Fox News program earlier this week, Dr. Ben Carson, the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, offered his view on the hot-button issue of the week, same-sex marriage. According to Carson, marriage is defined as between one man and one woman, what he called a “well-established, fundamental pillar of society.” And Carson said this institution could not be redefined by any group, including proponents of bestiality and pedophilia. Invoking those groups drew the ire of many, but Carson went on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” to clarify his remarks,

On Dennis Miller’s radio show on Tuesday, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer warned that while the Cyprus bailout may appear to involve a “trivial” amount of money, it could set the stage for wide-reaching consequences. Krauthammer compared the Cyprus situation to the 1914 assassination of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which began the dramatic spiral towards World War I. “The first thing that strikes me is how tiny this whole thing is,” Krauthammer said. “I mean, it could have ripple effects the way, you know, Sarajevo did in 1914. Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
