| Twenty-six people -- 20 students and six adults -- were shot and killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14. Details continue to emerge about what precisely happened. Below is a timeline of events that compiles the latest reporting. At some point before he went to the school, investigators believe Adam Lanza, 20, killed his mother, Nancy Lanza. He grabbed three guns from the house -- a semi-automatic AR-15 assault rifle made by Bushmaster and pistols made by Glock and Sig Sauer -- and went to the elementary school wearing black

And nearly four hours later a woman came out of an inner office where she had been hiding and said the police officers were surprised to see her.

Time for police to show up-- 20 minutes. Time for an authorized staffer to get shotgun out of safely locked area-- 45 seconds. Time for a teacher to pull out a concealed weapon-- 5 seconds.

Relying on the Police to be there to save your life is foolish.
As citizens, we need to take responsibility for our safety and our community, rather than relegating the responsibility to others. On that path, lies Tyranny.

The 20 minute delay in responding to the 911 calls will never be explained. Worse, normal citizens will be told to give up their weapons because "the police are there to protect you". Actually, to put up the yellow "Crime Scene" tape when they eventually arrive and then stand about for hours on double overtime.

When the Kumbaya crowd made schools “gun free zones”, they set them up for this sort of slaughter. Perhaps next they’ll give us gun free police departments and military bases.
The shooting at the school ended when someone with a gun showed up. Why wasn’t the man with gun there in the first place? Oh, right, it’s a gun free zone.

Yep, #2, when seconds count the police are just minutes away.
Too many people believe the propaganda that the police are there to protect you. Nope. No legal liability for that at all. The police are there as muscle for the government to promote ´public order´, follow orders, and clean up the mess and arrest citizens after they defend themselves (though the latter is less likely in a few states). Oh, and collect ´fines´, ´fees´ and ´taxes´ involuntarily from citizens. The founders warned about standing armies and tyranny. Lazy citizens who want someone else to be responsible for them ignored the warnings - if they ever bothered to learn of them - and bought the lies. These days look at how ´militarized´ the police departments are before you argue that the police don´t constitute a ´standing army´ in addition to the federal forces.

Stop making sense, #2. The police are there to protect us, or failing that, to draw pretty chalk outlines around our dead bodies. They´re very good at that.

In an attempt to make our society safer, there are two misplaced points of view; those that think the government should remove all our guns and those that think everyone should be armed. The real problem, the problem no one wants to address because it points the finger at our culture, is the heart. As with all these mass murderers, they plan these evil acts in their heads, days, weeks, and months ahead of time. In their heart, they commit murder before they ever grab a gun. The heart is where the problem lies and the heart, conditioned by a culture of death can do some horrendous things; just look at history. We are living in that culture today, brought on by ungodly secularists destroying everything that was once held sacred. Just take a look at life. We murder 400 unborn children a day and the nation turns its head. We sell violence in the form of movies and video games. Our families are being systematically destroyed leaving kids to be raised by gangs and marketers that put their profits before the welfare of our children; teaching them that feelings are the standard of morality. God is gone, thrown out by secularists and atheists and along with God, our culture, values, morals and the sacredness of life.

No disrespect to individual officers intended, but the job of LEO has become cleanup not protection. And as long as liberals and the ACLU stand in the way and prevent justice and deny commonsense solutions because they don´t feeeel right, we will continue having these attacks committed in ´gun free´ zones.

11, the State Police have said over and over since Saturday after the autopsies that ALL the victims in the school were SHOT WITH THE SEMI-AUTOMATC RIFLE which Lanza took into the school along with the 2 handguns. He only used one handgun to kill himself. I can´t imagine how you missed that if you have been paying any kind of attention at all.

What happened is most of America clings to magical thinking. Now, if someone tries to hijack an airliner, the passengers figure out a way to fight rather than do as instructed. We still pretend that offish TSA agents frisking grandma is effective security, but at least every passenger has a reality card to play now. It´s odd that no administration official or media pundit has suggested following El Al/Israeli techniques, but we know why, it profiles and it´s harder than pretending.
Domestic ´security´ is the same way. Some Americans have always understood the predator/prey roles. Many, especially urban residents want to or have to pretend there are new ways of dealing with personal responsibility. Again, we could look at how Israel deals with threats to their children, but that solution involves the same hard work and honest talk that few will stand behind. Maybe this horrible event will at least pull the covers back on the pretending that having a law, a sign and even a lock can protect anyone.

15- in the immediate hours on Friday it was said by media that the rifle was in the car. On Saturday, 5 days ago, both the State Police (many times) and the Medical Examiner who did all 26 autopsies along with his medical team, have OFFICIALLY said at press conferences over and over that the fatal wounds had ALL come from the one rifle, not a handgun. Each child was hit from 3-11 times. These were live police and medical press conferences, not media hearsay. The rumor you quote that the rifle was in the car was from the media and incorrect according to the official police statement and the ME. You are quoting rumor and hearsay from Friday, not the official live statements made every Saturday morning.

20 MINUTES! For the police to respond, seriously?
I do not want to believe some of the conspiracy theories, but all the contradictory stories make that hard. Was Adam a normal kid or mad at his mother? You can find reports of both. If the mother really wanted to commit Adam, she had the money to do so. I read another story that Adam went to the school for 8 years. I thought that the school only went to 4th grade? As another poster already said, there are many differing reports of the mother´s connection to the school.
But 20 MINUTES! That is the most inexplicable fact of all. If it is true.

James Holmes, the gunman behind the Dark Knight massacre in Colorado last July, has reportedly turned Muslim and prays five times a day. The killer showed off a lengthy, thick beard during a court appearance earlier this month, and a prison source has claimed it is a symbol of his new-found faith. The source said Holmes has turned to Islam as a way of justifying his horrific murder spree in an Aurora, Colorado cinema on July 20 which left 12 people dead and 58 people wounded. ´He has brainwashed himself into believing he was on his

New Pope Francis I is a conservative in the mold of his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II. That’s especially true on the issue of abortion, which he called a “death sentence” for the unborn in 2007. “We aren’t in agreement with the death penalty,” he said during that speech, “but in Argentina we have the death penalty. A child conceived by the rape of a mentally ill or retarded woman can be condemned to death.” In his writings, Francis wrote, “we should commit ourselves to ‘eucharistic coherence,’ that is, we should be conscious that people cannot receive holy communion

Democrats were overjoyed when George W. Bush left office in January of 2009. Obama had promised to end Bush´s hawkish foreign policy and the "war on terror´s" detention and interrogation regime. But in the beginning of his fifth year as president, Obama´s record has been surprisingly similar to his predecessor´s in those areas. 1. Democrats fought George W. Bush’s troop surge in Iraq in 2006. Obama copied it in Afghanistan in 2009. You would think Democrats would react the same way they did to Bush´s surge policy. But they were really more like

The court sided with the country’s chief oil and gas lobby, the American Petroleum Institute, in striking down the 2012 EPA mandate that would have forced refineries to purchase more than $8 million in credits for 8.65 million of gallons of the cellulosic biofuel. However, none of the biofuel is commercially available. “[W]e agree with API that EPA’s 2012 projection

Of all the diabolically clever moves the anti-choice lobby has ever pulled, surely one of the greatest has been its consistent co-opting of the word “life.” Life! Who wants to argue with that? Who wants be on the side of … not-life? That’s why the language of those who support abortion has for so long been carefully couched in other terms. While opponents of abortion eagerly describe themselves as “pro-life,” the rest of us have had to scramble around with not nearly as big-ticket words like “choice” and “reproductive freedom.” The “life”

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
