WASHINGTON — A gun found at the scene of a shootout between a Mexican drug cartel and soldiers where a beauty queen died was part of the botched “Fast and Furious” operation, CBS News reports. Authorities had said that Maria Susana Flores Gamez was likely used as a human shield and that an automatic rifle had been found near her body after the Nov. 23 shootout. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, tells CBS News that the Justice Department did not notify Congress that a Fast and Furious firearm was found at

Once again, Fast and Furious was not a botched operation. It did exactly what it was designed to do, put guns in the hands of cartels.

In another story.... Obama ´actively supportive´ of assault weapons ban

!!!!

obama is responsible for selling thousands of weapons to mexican drug cartels and with those very weapons they have murdered at least 300 men, women and CHILDREN in school!!

obama is a mass murderer like George Soros and William Ayers. obama has killed more then they have!

Thank you, #1. You´re right - and it´s infuriating to read "botched" in just about every article on F&F. The only thing "botched" about the operation was that we found out about it.

~~Federal authorities who conducted the operations have faced tough criticism for allowing suspected straw gun buyers for a smuggling ring to walk away from gun shops in Arizona with weapons, rather than arrest them and seize the guns.

Several Republicans have called for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder due to the botched operation.

Tough criticism? Certainly not by our press.

#1, you are mistaken. If it hadn´t been botched you would not know about it. Of course most of the time the people who use the word "botched" with reference to Fast and Furious mean that it allowed guns to get into the hands of criminals, which is indeed not a botch at all. However, if Fast and Furious had not been botched the Administration would be able to use guns like this one turning up at the site of a murder to push limiting access to guns.

How could Big Labor and the Chamber of Commerce and the tech world and Big Agriculture all unite behind one bill? Very tentatively. It wouldn´t take much to break the coalition apart. And if that happens, the effort to enact comprehensive immigration reform could blow up, not just for the moment, but for some time to come. And there are signs that is exactly what is occurring now.
