House GOP´s Plan B Tax-
Only Bill on Floor This Week

National Journal, by Michael Catalini

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 12/18/2012 10:57:01 AM

House Speaker John Boehner said the House would vote this week on a tax-only measure to keep rates low for most Americans. Two congressional sources said the vote would probably be held on Thursday. The tax-only measure is being called "Plan B" by Republicans and they are looking at it as an alternative to a broader plan that the speaker has been negotiating with the White House. Talks between the White House and House Republicans have not yet yielded a broad deal, but the two sides have moved closer together in recent days.

As predicted, cave on taxes and do nothing about spending. The second this passes, I am changing from Rebublican to independent and will no longer give a flip about the party of lite socialism, the Rebublicans.

This will put a target on any Republican voting for this, with almost two years to find candidates for the primaries. That said this may pass the House with Democratic support.

It may be tough to get the Tea Party House Members to vote for any surrender bill, but I bet most Democrats will. You should know that any good bill will have all Democrats voting against passage.

Elections have consequences, and the President has the veto. This is the least bad scenario, which is the best that can be gotten given electoral reality. I will not shed a tear for the millionaires in CA, NY, MA, NJ, CT who voted to re-elect President Obama. They got what they wanted, and deserved.

What is "Plan C"?

How about only passing what NerØbama campaigned on, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, and go home? We´re going over the faux cliff anyway - let the Dems own it.

come on folks, you need to understand that taxes were going to go up one way or another.

The current rates expire in a few weeks and are automatically going back up. theere is nothing the repugs can do to stop it, they can only limit the damage 0bam and the dimms are doing to this economy.

this is what happens when you have failed political parties.

the only thing the repugs can do to save thier party is to take a moral stand on deficit spending during the upcoming debt limit talks. if they fail they will be placed on the ash heep of history like the Whig Party.

Excuse me, but what limited information I have seen, this is a very limited cave in that it allows the taxes to go up on those making 1 million or more per year. Spending cuts are still in effect Jan 1 as part of the sequester. I hate that anyone representing conservative believes they can fix a problem by throwing a small percentage of taxpayers to the taxing wolves. My guess is that this will split both parties and fail to pass in the House and therefore not see the light of day in the Senate.

I am sick to death of these marxists & their MSM getting away with lying. Time for the 23 states to secede.

People running back into the apartment building from the back porch were confronted by a man at the front door who also opened fire, he said. Problems getting judges confirmed by the Senate have been a constant complaint for this White House — but this week, President Barack Obama’s aides are celebrating a confirmation count that outpaces President George W. Bush’s. They’ve had that goal on their minds for over a year, ever since chief of staff Denis McDonough and counsel Kathy Ruemmler reprioritized judicial nominations for Obama’s second term. John Owens, confirmed Monday to the Ninth Circuit, along with Edward Smith and Gerald McHugh, who confirmed to the district court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania last week, put them over the top. Leading the field in job creation, not surprisingly, was education and health services with 34,000 jobs—thank you Obamacare-- the retail trade with about 22,000 jobs—thank you Obamacare-- and temporary workers with 28,500 jobs —thank you Obamacare.
