| Newly announced changes to Instagram´s terms and conditions give the Facebook-owned photo-sharing site ´perpetual´ rights to all images uploaded, and allow Instagram to use them for commercial purposes without identification. "You acknowledge that we may not always identify paid services, sponsored content, or commercial communications as such," the new terms say. That may let advertisers use teenagers’ photos for marketing, raising privacy and security concerns, Jeffrey Chester, executive director for the Center for Digital Democracy, told Bloomberg. I deleted my Facebook after the election (easier than defriending the few remaining dems...) but still enjoy Instagram. Oh well! Guess I´ll delete it too. There goes another fun little distraction. I hope the whole service goes under.

I ALMOST deleted my account. But I´ve changed how I use Facebook. I´m a supporter of Ryan Ferguson, who has been incarcerated in Missouri for 9 years, and absolutely deserves a new trial (but I don´t believe for a second that he murdered the man he was convicted of murdering...I believe he deserves flat out freedom.)
Recently a FB employee named Mike helped Ryan´s family put together a "Free Ryan Ferguson" cause page that is now up to over 8500 "likes". In just 2 weeks. While this may sound trivial, it´s such a source of hope and support to Ryan and his parents, who have fought for years to get him out.
Ironically, support for a complete stranger has made me see the personal side of Facebook. No politics, no trivial posts, no fights...just thousands of people from around the world giving hope to a family fighting injustice.
So I´m over the trivia...I just go to the pages I support, visit my kids´ updates...check to see what´s up...and then off again.

Facebook is wonderful for connecting with friends and family. It is also great and for sharing imagery with like minded artisans, if you work in creative fields, as I do. It´s an important vehicle for marketing.
But I have always avoided Instagram and Pinterest for this very reason: my images are MINE.

Delete all you want. Facebook who owns Instagram says they still own the images.
The "founder" who lied to the real founders also committed stock fraud and made billions.
He does not care about what his customers thinks. He will lie and lie.

So if someone posts the next viral cat photo, Instagram will claim the royalties. If they post child porn instead, Instagram would have some excuse for why they´re not culpable. This is wrong. They cannot have it both ways. They cannot make money off of some photos while denying responsibility for others.

#5 - You can´t delete your account. The most you can do is "close" it. It actually remains there, though not accessible to anyone else, and you can still access/reopen it (whether you want to or not) with the user ID & password.
I´m a regular FB user, for human rights/Tibet causes and to connect with friends near and far. It certainly has its down sides but has been more of a blessing to me than anything else.

I removed all personal information and pictures a couple of years ago when I learned FB does things like this. Thankfully I didn´t have any of my children´s pictures to post.
After that I learned FB scan for political posts and turn them over to Politico, a separate news organization, who then turns them over to the DNC.
When will we get an internet site like this that is not owned by the Liberals Marxist traitors?

The team found that being left alone to breed on its own was key. The discovery raises hope that other damaged reefs could ´regenerate´. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
