Islamic jihackers – coming
soon to a bank near you

While our fumbling politicians and toothless regulators aren´t having much success at dealing with out-of-control, too-big-to fail-banks, it seems that online cyber-jihadis are having some success in damaging them. Last week, a group calling itself the "Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters" (named for an islamic militant killed by British Troops in Palestine in the 1930s) issued a warning on Pastebin that it would target US banks, in protest over YouTube not removing the film The Innocence of Muslims. Since then, they´ve made good on their threat. Institutions including Bank of America, PNC Financial Services Group, and SunTrust have seen large-scale

So could we please stop inviting the seed of our enemies into our country via H1-B visas and college places? They learn this stuff from us. We are giving them the IEDs to blow us up with.

They are wearing the same clothes, which suggests it was taken earlier in the day: 09.30 Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, Malaysian civil aviation chief, said earlier that the widened search includes northern parts of the Malacca Strait, on the opposite side of the Malay Peninsula and far west of the plane´s last known location. Mr Azharuddin would not explain why crews were searching there, saying rather cryptically, "There are some things that I can tell you and some things that I can´t."

Even a CPAC veteran like me was shocked on Saturday night. I´ve been to six Conservative Political Action Conferences in six years. But I don´t think I could have ever been prepared for the ´Casa De Liberte´ party, hosted by some friends of friends of mine this weekend. US Secretary of State John Kerry has rejected an offer of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin until Moscow engages with US proposals to tackle the crisis in Ukraine. Mr Kerry told his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov that Moscow´s military intervention in Crimea had made any negotiations extremely difficult. US officials say there will be little to talk about if the referendum on Crimea´s future goes ahead. The referendum is to be held on Sunday. Ukraine and the the West say that the vote is illegal. Moscow has condemned Ukraine´s new Western-backed government as an unacceptable "fait accompli"--it says that

Baroness Sharples of Chawton is immaculate in leather-trimmed tweed. Back ramrod-straight, white hair bouffed to within an inch of its life, nails coral pink, diamonds bobbing cheerily. She is 91 years old, drinks one glass of pink champagne every night (‘It’s a very nice drink but I must get back to whisky’), plays golf extremely proficiently, drove an articulated lorry in World War II and cannot abide rudeness, particularly to members of staff. Over afternoon tea and crumpets in the House of Lords tea room, she is wonderfully chatty.

UKIP could attract 30 per cent of the vote if it can get its act together, a major new study of the party claims today. The academic study, which analysed the views of more than 100,000 voters, says support for Ukip is driven not just by Euroscepticism, but also by ‘hostility’ to immigration and ‘intense dissatisfaction’ with the three main parties. It suggests that almost one-third of voters share at least two of these values and might be persuaded to vote for the party in future if it can succeed in getting its message across. The study also finds that

Churchill had a great fondness for animals, a trait that surprises those who think of him only as the wartime leader promising blood, toil, tears and sweat. But he knew where the balance of power lay in the animal kingdom. “I am very fond of pigs,” he declared. “Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals.” At Chartwell, his home in Kent, he kept ducks and black swans, goldfish and golden orfe, butterflies and bantams; his brown poodles, Rufus I and Rufus II, are buried there, and his budgerigar Toby was a cherished

The two men said by Interpol to have been travelling on stolen passports on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that mysteriously disappeared on Saturday have been identified as Iranian nationals. A BBC Persia report quotes an Iranian friend of one of the men, who said he hosted the pair in Kuala Lumpur after they arrived from Tehran in the days preceding their flight to Beijing. The friend, who knew one of the men from his school days in Iran, said the men had bought the fake passports because they wanted to migrate to Europe. The pair were travelling on passports

Benjamin Netanyahu accused the West of failing to condemn Iran´s involvement in an intercepted weapons shipment on Monday because it wanted to delude itself that the country´s leaders had changed course. Standing beside an array of rockets, mortars and bullets seized from a ship that sailed from Iran, the Israeli prime minister said the international community was guilty of "hypocrisy" for failing to speak out while loudly denouncing Israel for continued settlement building. "At most I heard a few faint condemnations of Iran from the international community," he said. "In contrast if we build a balcony in Jerusalem we hear

A promise made to an ageing Sir Winston Churchill has been honoured after a kitten was given a home at his country estate. For his 88th birthday in 1962, Churchill was given a marmalade cat named Jock after one of his private secretaries, Sir John "Jock" Colville, who gave him the pet. The cat was so dear to the former Prime Minister that it was rumoured that meals would not start until Jock was at the table. He and his family requested that, after his death, there should always be a marmalade cat named Jock with a white bib and four white socks resident at Chartwell in Kent. The reunion of Romney´s political brain trust comes amid a burst of positive buzz about the former Massachusetts governor -- from favorable reviews of "MITT," the Netflix documentary about his campaigns, to chatter among some powerful GOP donors about another Romney presidential campaign in 2016.

CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday. Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network´s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network´s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.

Writing a check on an account with an iffy balance, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told The New York Times that he thinks the Republican establishment is "going to crush [our opponents] everywhere." It took zero-point-zero seconds for that quote to become precisely the sort of rallying point that Republican incumbents would probably rather their opponents not have. The Tea Party-versus-establishment war has rarely been articulated as plainly as in McConnell´s comments. Although it appears that McConnell was probably speaking within the fairly narrow frame of candidates challenging incumbent Republican senators.
