Dukakis seen as possible Senate
replacement if Kerry tapped for State

The Hill (DC), by Alexander Bolton

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 12/17/2012 6:08:37 AM

Former Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis, the 1988 Democratic presidential nominee, may be headed back to the political spotlight as he’s considered a likely interim replacement for Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). President Obama is set to tap Kerry to succeed Hillary Clinton as secretary of State, according to media reports. This means Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) needs to find someone to fill Kerry’s seat until a special election can be held in the late spring or early summer. Dukakis, who is 79, has remained politically active. He campaigned for Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) this fall and teaches at Northeastern University.

#6, Reid has already said the cloture requirement, now 60, is going to be reduced, probably to 51. (Remember how the democrats cried and complained when the republicans threatened the ´nuclear option?´
Reid is using the nuclear option.
From beginning to end, I predict Jon Cary will be confirmed in one week. Same with Hagel at Defense.
Elections have consequences. Just watch the creepy creatures President Zero appoints to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The front men for this regime don´t matter much. This agenda has been carefully crafted for many years. While the prize is totalitarian control of the population, the vectors are:

1-"Redistribution & Fairness"
2-Retribution for "Colonial Exploitation"
3-Alienation of population into hostile sub groups.
4-Stigmatizing and shaming of the military.
5-Promotion of "Gangsta Culture".
6-Disarming the productive sector (Disarming of the new slaves).
7-Environmental extortion operations.
8-Fiscal & Monetary chaos.

I´d worry more if they were bringing in young and charming leading men types.

I guess they can only tolerate one of them.

OMG. The worst thing about Lucy.com is that you Ldotter´s are so fast with and all the good comments are already taken by the time I wake up, have my coffee and try to jump in.

With the re-election of Obummer, Obammy, Ozero, Obozo, etc., etc., etc. what is there to say? I feel like I´m in some kind of surrealistic B., C., or D movie. Can it be worse than this so called administration? Can it be more absurd or bizarre than this administration? More incompetent, more frightening? More totally detached from any kind of reality? Think of the bizarre people attempting to run and ruin our country. "The Won" himself and his shrill harridan and scold of a so called wife, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer, Feinstein, Jarrett, the shameful, strange and incompetent Supreme Court appointees Kagan and Sotomayor, the "concussed" Hildabeast/thing, and now, the lying, pompous, smug, arrogant and condescending traitor Jon Francois Carry.

Excuse me, but WTH is wrong with this country that we would vote ourselves into such a self-destructive death spiral with these absurd "leaders"? Is it just me or is this all too depressingly depressing. I´m hoping that this nightmare is just a dream, just a dream.

He was sent to Turkey last year to assess their problems with their borders and helped Illinois (the brokest, bankrupt state) sell a prison to the Feds for Gitmo N. As if we should all be outraged by the behavior of this delusional crazy woman who thought there might be civil unrest in the near future and wanted some protection. The current scenario in DC would have to work really hard to come up to the level of a D grade movie. Amusing that the dems, after accusing the RNC of ´old white men´ attacking Susan Rice, is now using ´old white men´ for their new nominations.

I guess that because these retreads are dems, that´s ok. And I also didn´t think it was possible for the Senate stature to decrease any more than it already has with dingy Harry in charge. Where do you go from bottom of the barrel?

If Deval Patrick picks Michael Dukakis at age 79, he is picking him to hold down the seat until someone else, maybe even Deval Patrick himself can run for the seat later in the year. That´s if Barack Obama does not pick Patrick for Attorney General if Eric Holder decides to leave or if a vacancy on the Supreme Court does not pop up that Obama can nominate Patrick to fill.

Fariq Abdul Hamid was the second officer. Investigators looking into the plane´s disappearance have focused on the pilot, co-pilot and crew members but haven´t ruled out the possibility that one or more passengers were involved, people familiar with the investigation said Friday. A New Biography Shows That ‘John

“Truly, this man was the son of God.” Thus speaks a Roman centurion at the end of George Stevens’s inaptly named The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965). It’s a line that always gets a big laugh, partly because the idea of anything so irreligious as Hollywood hokum commenting on the provenance of Jesus Christ is axiomatically funny, but mostly because the centurion is played by John Wayne, a movie star who might have known a son of a gun when he saw one, but who patently knew precious little else. Except, one learns from Scott Eyman’s exhaustive new biography, John

When future generations come to look back on the alarm over global warming that seized the world towards the end of the 20th century, much will puzzle them as to how such a scare could have arisen. They will wonder why there was such a panic over a 0.4 per cent rise in global temperatures between 1975 and 1998, when similar rises between 1860 and 1880 and 1910 and 1940 had given no cause for concern. They will see these modest rises as just part of a general warming that began at the start of the 19th century, as the

With no evidence that Russia has any plans to withdraw its troops from the border of Ukraine, some former Soviet states are worried about their own regional security. Farther east, other countries, closely aligned with Moscow rather than the West, say they are trying to ease tensions. And several central Asian states have responded by simply staying silent. The United States and NATO announced this week that they are boosting military support in the Baltic region, which is on especially high alert. Moscow has long complained about Russians´ rights there, and its takeover of Crimea suggests it may be willing to

Reginald Clarke is someone Obamacare was designed to help. The 55-year-old, who was homeless for a time, now has an apartment in Gardena and a street-cleaning job that pays him $14,000 a year. He hadn´t visited a doctor in four or five years. Then, last fall, his girlfriend told him he would be eligible for Medi-Cal starting Jan. 1. "I was excited. I could go get a physical," he said. "There are a few things I need." But joy turned to exasperation when Clarke´s application, filed in December, was mistakenly rejected — and then seemed to disappear from county and state computer systems. By law,

The president gave two speeches this week, one in the Rose Garden to talk about Obamacare and one in Ann Arbor, Mich., to push minimum wage increases. What did we learn? We learned that President Obama is most comfortable in campaign mode, and his campaigning has gotten downright ugly. His Rose Garden speech was a typical self-congratulatory moment for supposedly hitting 7.1 million Obamacare sign-ups — although we know that once again, the White House is ignoring some inconvenient truths. We also learned that the president was vain enough to asked the networks to cover his speech in prime time, but

The State Department has no idea what happened to $6 billion used to pay its contractors. In a special “management alert” made public Thursday, the State Department’s Inspector General Steve Linick warned “significant financial risk and a lack of internal control at the department has led to billions of unaccounted dollars over the last six years. The alert was just the latest example of the federal government’s continued struggle with oversight over its outside contractors. The lack of oversight “exposes the department to significant financial risk,” the auditor said. “It creates conditions conducive to fraud, as corrupt individuals may attempt

Muslim moms and dads in Dearborn, Mich. are upset after students received flyers promoting an Easter Egg hunt at a local Presbyterian church. The parents say the egg hunt violates the U.S. Constitution. The Muslims told the Detroit Free-Press that they were concerned about the religious implications of Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church’s “Eggstravaganza!” They were also troubled by images of a bunny rabbit. “It really bothered my two kids,” parent Majed Moughni, told the newspaper. “My son was like, ‘Dad, I really don’t feel comfortable getting these flyers, telling me to go to church. CIA spokesman Christopher White confirmed the death and said the incident did not take place at CIA headquarters in McLean, Va. “We can confirm that there was an individual fatally injured at a facility where agency work is done,” White told the Washington Free Beacon. “He was rushed to a local area hospital where he subsequently died. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared Tuesday his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better´ in a Rose Garden press conference. But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night.

Earlier this week on Boston’s WRKO-AM’s The Howie Carr Show, conservative commentator Ann Coulter shocked some conservatives when she said she is making 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney her favorite for the 2016 Republican contest. Last month in an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Romney himself ruled out the possibility of a 2016 run and said he was instead focused on who to get behind in that contest. Coulter, however, wishes otherwise. “Well, don´t tell him but I´m planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest -- flying out, kidnapping him and depriving him of sleep, food and

A 54-year-old white man has been left barely clinging to life after he was brutally beaten by a group of black men when he got out of his car to check on a young black boy he accidentally hit. Steve Utash, from suburban Roseville, was beaten into a coma Wednesday by an angry mob in a poverty-stricken Detroit neighborhood after David Harris, 10, ran in front of his truck on a busy street, but police insist the incident was not racially motivated. The gang also stole his wallet before leaving him for dead. Utash is in extremely critical

Attorney General Eric Holder disputed a Government Accountability Office report on his use of Justice Department airplanes for personal trips, saying it overstated the number of trips he took and failed to recognize that some trips were job-related. "My staff keeps telling me to take it easy, you know, well, this is one that gets me," Holder told Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. "There was this notion that we´ve taken -- I think it was described as hundreds of personal trips. That was wrong. GAO counted flights, not round trips. And we looked at it

Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney has sworn off running again for elected office, but Americans have certainly heard that one before. Speculation that Romney might run again has largely been stoked by the reunion he planned to host last month in Park City, Utah, for members of his 2012 campaign and debate team and a string of recent public appearances. He has appeared on TV news shows 12 times in the past six months. That’s essentially on pace with Michigan GOP Rep. Mike Rogers, who led all national politicians last year with 26 appearances over 12 months. Romney has
