Ronald Reagan’s

To the beat of Joni Mitchell’s song, Big Yellow Taxi running in the background, we’re calling on Michael Reagan and NewsMax.com to come to the rescue of an American tragedy in the making. Somewhere among the environs of the University of Chicago Medical Center, they’re about to “pave paradise and put up a parking lot”. In political lingo, the university medical center is going to demolish the house where President Ronald Reagan grew up in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighbourhood. In an era where overzealous revisionists are throwing American history out the window, it’s curtains for the

It looks like a large apartment building.

FTA: ~~Meanwhile back at that ranch known as the University of Chicago, university officials, which once included Michelle Obama, are tied up in a pet project of their own. They are actively lobbying for an Obama Presidential Library. Obama’s own Tony Rezko-enabled home also happens to be in the Hyde Park neighborhood. (A Google map search places the two homes less than half a mile apart.)~~

I know I read yesterday about this here and he only lived at this address for a very short time. Never considered his "boyhood home". The house where he was brought up and considered "home" is in Dixon IL and has been preserved.

Love our Ron, but this is stupid. His ranch and the place in the hills are both lovely and well done. Terrible road goes to the mountain retreat. Property has been
changed, I would guess, well, anyway, the road.

If it was his family´s personal home I´d understand the outrage, but an apartment building? Apartments are transient residences, not where one sets down roots. His family home was in Dixon, IL, where he is revered.

Who gives a s? Let the vandals build a replica of the Robert Taylor Homes at the location. Then they can tear it down 50 years from now just like they did in the 90s on State Street. I don´t care what anyone says about Detroit, but the Taylor Homes were the worst Democrat-run hellhole in America.

I lived in about ten houses while I was growing up. I would not expect each one to be treated like a shrine if I somehow managed to become rich and famous.

This is silly. Reagan did not live in that place for a long time, and had no real ties to the area.

I honestly don´t think Obama will locate his library in Chicago. He used the place as a crash pad while he learned how to be a black community organizer. He has no real ties to the place either.

In present-day America, we are being bombarded with increasingly dire headlines about the condition of our nation. Common elements among these headlines of domestic disorder and discontent are reports of unbridled government overreach into our lives, from much-publicized gun control laws, warrantless searches and seizures, to the perverse and absurdly shameful degradation of our human dignity at the hands of the TSA and the DHS. Today, we are facing an assault on our freedoms for which those who lived before us have shed their blood, entrusting us with the gift of an indivisible nation under God. Yes, under God.

Children have always been political pawns where overbearing leftwing regimes are concerned. Political Science professor and small-time MSNBC weekend host Melissa Harris-Perry is tripping down the primrose path as carved out by the trademark lean-on-the-kids Barack and Mrs. Obama. For almost five years Barack Obama has talked almost exclusively to university and school children. Imperious, duck-the-adults Obama has his very own Youth Corps. With zero experience and zero charisma, Michelle Obama has remained stubbornly on school children’s’ lunch plate.

In midst of the modern, mindless battle to drive religion completely from American life, a small and inconvenient fact has been ignored: Virtually every important, original American idea is a product of Christianity. Further, had these doctrines never been developed, the US would arguably not been nearly as productive, free or happy. These ideas involve property, liberty, and the rule of law.Today the government bears down upon the Constitution, menacing the Bill of Rights and our entire way of life, offering to trade our freedoms for the supposed security of state control. For the many whose complaints were marginalized when New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan invited President Barack Obama to the legendary Al Smith dinner two weeks before the November 6 election on the weak-kneed alibi that “he invited Mitch Romney too”: Cardinal Dolan gave abortion-loving Vice President Joe Biden Holy Communion and a gleeful shout-out from the altar of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, New York City on Palm Sunday. Most shamefully and unabashedly, yes he did.Even as the faithful were honouring the beginning of Holy Week 2013 in the memory of Christ riding a donkey into Jerusalem,

If President Barack Obama is serious about pioneering a Congress-paid, $100-million mapping expedition into the human brain, he should seek the help of celebrated brilliant brain surgeon Dr. Ben Carson. But it’s far more likely that megalomanic Obama is only jumping onto the human brain study bandwagon because that’s where the increasingly popular Dr. Carson is. “Obama, who jokingly labeled himself “Scientist-in-Chief”, said the so-called BRAIN Initiative could create jobs and eventually lead to answers to ailments including Parkinson’s and autism and help reverse the effect of a stroke.

The new battle-cry to save a disappearing Republic should begin with the words: “Set our children free”. While the President Barack Obama-led Socialist regime in Washington calls the tune by keeping the bouncing ball over the concept of Government-Fighting-Patriots, the real battle is the one where it gets to take over your children. With all eyes trained expectantly on the latest Obama executive order; with the definition of one man, one woman marriage being rewritten by the Supreme Court, progressives in office have been working out the details to come up with a way to capture your children.

Former famed CIA director David Petraeus apologized last week for his blackmail-able extramarital affair with sycophant author Paula Broadwell that “caused such pain for [his] family, friends and supporters,” during an event honoring the military at the University of Southern California. While it must have been devastating for his wife Holly of 37 years to have to go to the family doctor to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases thanks to her husband’s infidelity and lies—something all spouses and partners need to do under such circumstances, that is between them. The truth is Petraeus is getting off easy.

It’s Good Friday and a government holiday in Ottawa. No point trying to reach Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty today. So rather than wait until Monday, Canada Free Press (CFP) is posing this cliff-hanger question: “Is that a Cyprus-style “Bail In” proposed in the newly-minted 2013 budget?” That’s what economic gunslingers on both sides of the border and dozens of letters to the editor are charging. What began as a rumble is growing into an ear-splitting cacophony—and the Canadian government should post a truthful, detailed and in-plain-English explanation on its website.

In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.
