Dem. Rep. Jerrold Nadler is at least being honest about how he, and no doubt many Leftists, would like to feast off an unthinkable tragedy and exploit it in order to pursue a nonsensical agenda that would ensure only bad guys have guns. Last night on "The Ed Show," Nadler openly called for President Obama to "exploit" the murder of 20 children, “I think we will be there if the president exploits it, and otherwise we’ll go on to the next.” In his statement to the country yesterday, while he wasn´t specific about what action
Too bad Jerry, Bayrock has not passed a budget since he has been POTUS. HE got to do that first. Don´t you wish he had been taking care of business? Give the teachers a $50/Month stipend to maintain a CC permit and end "GUN FREE" zones!

No sane, rational personal can fail to be heartbroken over the deaths in the Connecticut school shooting this past Friday.
The young man who did this was mentally ill.
He is now being judged by his Maker for the deeds he did in the flesh. Unlike this life, justice in the next life is certain.
Now our politicians and others will begin the ritual of trying to eliminate guns (it began before we even knew the name of the assailant, or knew that he was a young male with mental problems)
The young man could have killed by setting fire to the school... maybe with even more deaths. He could have killed by running over the kids with a car or truck as they waited for the school bus. He cold have killed them with nails and nuts and bolts in a pipe bomb. He chose to use a gun.
Each year there are about 12,000 people killed in the US by all type of guns. Each year there are about 4,000 people killed with knives. Each year there are about 1,000 people killed with blunt objects like baseball bats, shovels and lampstands. Each year there are about 2500 people killed by other methods (poisoning, etc.)
Total - about 20,000 people.
Each year (over the last thirty years) there is an average of about 40,000 people who are killed in automobile accidents.
If we really want to save lives – the MOST lives - ban the automobile.
YES, that’s stupid. So is it stupid to ban all knives, all baseball bats and all lampshades. WHY? Because it is PEOPLE who kill, not the implement.
Michael Bloomberg didn´t even have the decency to wait until there was a final body count before he was on national TV calling for the end of private gun ownership.
As for Obama, you don´t have to fret about missing his opportunity. While the rest of the country mourns these little kids, you can count on Obama seeing a world rich with political opportunity ripe for the milking.
Let´s try not selling guns to mentally unstable people...opps, already do that.
Let´s ban guns altogether... Opps, See how well that works for cocaine.
Reinstate the "bad gun" ban.... Opps, he had pistols as well.
What really needs to happen is for people to get over the idea that they must not report unstable people for fear of stigmatizing them. opps, they don´t get in the database that bans them from buy guns. Well, at least you didn´t stigmatize them.
If people get their cues from government, it might be wise to condider a few facts: 1. The U.S. is one of the largest exporters and suppliers of light and heavy firepower to much of the Third World. We are also on the U.N Security Council. I won´t even talk about China, Russia, and the major players in Europe. The Left worships at the altar of the UN 2. The Left was all in a lather over the Iraq War. But now that a Democrat is in charge, and is ordering armed drone strikes on suspected terrorists without due process, the collective Left is mostly silent. 3. The Left screams and rants over an aberrant school massacre carried out by a maniac, and claim to care about the children. Yet, they continue to cheer and promote the daily slaughter of life that is carried out in abortion clinics. The estimated death toll is 300 million and rising since Roe v Wade was decided by the Supreme Court. 3. The Left considers G. W Bush one of the worst, evil presidents in U.S. history. Yet, they continue to worship Bill Clinton, a serial sexual harrasser, abuser, and unindicted rapist. I could go on and on and on, but the fact is, we live in an insane world that is run by various sociopaths and psychopaths. And we´re shocked when another isolated loser snaps his tether and mows down a bunch of helpless children.
I´m sure this thought immediately occurred on the left, and they´re pausing briefly to make it less obvious. I don´t doubt some silently celebrated this opportunity to push their agenda, though it´s likely one of their own that perpetrated the crime.
there are more people killed in car accidents than guns. Should we ban all cars? Air travel isn´t guaranteed. Many have died from plane crashes. Should we ban all flight. People have stabbed people to death, should all knives be collected? People have strangled others, should all hands be amputated?
How about EVERY person calling for more gun control, fire their personal, armed, guards and turn in any guns or knives they own. THEN let´s talk about gun control (after they have spent a few days, unarmed, on the streets of chicago). Nadler, you first.
There are a lot of mentally ill people out there who vote for the liberal Democrats, so don´t look for any liberal Democrats to pin the blame for this latest mass murder situation on a mentally ill person, while directly firearms have no vote, so look for the liberal Democrats to seriously attempt a gun control overreach.
When the liberal Democrats did that the last time, a lot of them were voted out of office in several elections. You can look for that to happen again, if the liberal Democrats do not limit their gun control efforts to steps designed to keep mentally ill people from easily getting their hands on firearms.
Yes. They will exploit it- especially since so many people now, in the shadow of the school shooting, don´t give a hoot about the lies the President and Sec. of State told over the dead American Ambassador and others. Benghazi? What´s that? It´s guns that are the real problem- guns in the hands of the damn free Americans!
And if you don´t agree with Nadler that NØbama should exploit this to take away our guns, then NØbama can just take Harry Belafonte´s suggestion and jail you like the third world dictator that he is quickly becoming.
Are there any lie-berals out there that have actually read the Consitituion and understant that it is the ultimate law of the land, NOT what lie-berals think it should be?!?!?!?!?
We need Breitbart to crusade for mandatory confined evaluation for certain mental illnesses. No more pill-pushing psychiatry. It always seems to be the seriously mentally ill people who go on these multiple murder sprees. Look at todays article from China. Another mentally ill person stabbed 20 people to death. Are we going to ban knives?
Is Kathleen Sebelius really the principal behind the fiasco that the Obamacare rollout has become? Drawing on her CNN interview with Sanjay Gupta, Rich Lowry has fun with her in “Heckuva job, Sebelius,” and Rich doesn’t even touch on her memorable appearance on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Sebelius pushed back yesterday in Sheryl Gay Stolberg’s New York Times story “Sebelius thrust into firestorm on exchanges.” Don’t blame her, she’s the piano player or, rather, she’s just a vacuous cipher (to borrow a useful redundancy that was attached to Valerie Jarrett). Stolberg presents the Sebelius thrust: [A]lthough Ms. Sebelius
Inside the National Security Council, most officials aren’t allowed to use or even look at Twitter, the popular social-networking service. But that didn’t stop some of President Obama’s top advisers from trying to identify the person responsible for @natsecwonk, an anonymous Twitter account that published a steady stream of personal and sometimes offensive attacks on White House and State Department officials. Three weeks ago, the group hatched a plan to trick the suspected NSC staffer into revealing himself. They would intentionally plant inaccurate, but harmless, information with him to see if it would pop up as a 140-character tweet
Pity the journalist who wishes to write about Fox News. It can be very dangerous. In his new book “Murdoch’s World,” NPR media reporter David Folkenflik documents one of the perils as part of a chapter on the sharp-elbowed ways of Fox News’s PR operation. These are the folks who take all incoming press inquiries on Fox News, ignore some, scoff at others and arrange access or statements on yet others. An easy way to antagonize this group, says Folkenflik, is to propose writing anything that acknowledges their key competitors — MSNBC and CNN — as existing. “They are a
HOUSTON — Sharon Alford knows what they have been saying about her state’s junior senator up in Washington. Which is why she was standing here, among about 600 people in a sweltering warehouse, holding a hand-made sign that said, “We the people ? Ted Cruz.” “He’s surrounded by enemies up there, and I want to show support for him in Texas,” she said. “I’m just hoping it’s like this around the country.” Cruz may be the most reviled man in the U.S. Senate at the moment, not least among his Republican colleagues. He was the face and voice of the
Robert Laszewski is president of Health Policy and Strategy Associates, a policy and marketplace consulting firm that has him working closely with many in the heath industry as they try to navigate the Affordable Care Act, as well as the author of the excellent Health Care Policy and Marketplace Review blog. As such, he has a unique view on how the rollout looks from the industry side. We spoke on Wednesday. A lightly edited transcript of our conversation follows. Ezra Klein: We last talked about 10 days ago. So in the interim, what are your insurance industry sources saying has
It has become clear after the government shutdown that if Obamacare isn’t destroyed now, it will be with us forever. Waiting until after a series of elections to try to kill it is a fool’s errand. There will never be more support for ending Obamacare than there will be in the next few months. Once the dependency class hooks up their Obamacare IV, it’s game over. Let’s inventory how Texas Senator Ted Cruz won territory in the government shutdown fight. First, the Left knows victories are won through the fight. This is the core of the new Alinskyite model of
Last week, Congress voted to end the government shutdown and lift the debt ceiling overcoming Republican demands to delay the implementation of ObamaCare for one year. On Wednesday, just days after Democrats overcame the GOP demands, Democrat lawmakers are suggesting the government should delay ObamaCare. Yes, the irony is rich. Lisa Desjardins @AskLisaD NEW: Democrat @SenMarkPryor tells CNN he wants to extend Obamacare deadline, agrees with @SenatorShaheen (via @psteinhauserCNN )2:29 PM - 23 Oct 2013 The entire point of Sen. Ted Cruz´s epic 21-hour speech on the Senate floor was to draw attention to the obvious failings of ObamaCare. For
If the Obamacare enrollment website seems like a tangled mess, just wait for the lawsuits. The potential for a morass of litigation over who’s responsible for the problems that have plagued the rollout of President Barack Obama’s signature health care law is significant, government procurement experts say. With scores of federal employees and 55 contractors reportedly involved in setting up the Obamacare federal exchanges, it may take years to sort out exactly what happened — let alone for the feds to recover any of the hundreds of millions of dollars already paid out on the project. The debacle could lead
In a bombshell revelation, a consumer sales manager for North Dakota’s largest health insurer said Monday that the Obama Administration asked Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota to hide how many people registered for health insurance through an online exchange that just went up. James Nichol of Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota told a forum in Fargo that the Obama Administration had made the request. The forum was designed for people who wanted to obtain coverage through the online exchange. A spokeswoman from Blue Cross Blue Shield acknowledged that only 14 North Dakotans have registered for coverage
Fox News’s Sean Hannity, that paragon of journalistic integrity, hosted six “average Americans” on his show this month who were “feeling the pain” of Obamacare. One was Paul Cox, who runs a North Carolina construction business and complained that the new law prevented him from hiring full-time employees because he would have to provide health insurance to anybody working more than 30 hours a week. “We’ve had to keep them below 30 hours or we wouldn’t be able to .?.?. stay in business and pay it,” Cox said. “It’s happening all the time,” Hannity contributed. If by “it” Hannity meant
When the new health-care law was being cobbled together, Congress decided to establish a network of nonprofit insurance companies aimed at bringing competition to the marketplace, long dominated by major insurers. But these co-ops, started as a great hope for lowering insurance costs, are already in danger. While the debut of the Affordable Care Act this month has been marred by widespread computer problems, the difficulties facing the co-ops have been less obvious to consumers. One co-op, however, has closed, another is struggling and at least nine more have been projected to have financial problems, according to internal government reviews
The House’s top investigators want to know if the Obama administration made a political decision to get rid of an online tool that would have allowed uninsured Americans to comparison-shop among private health plans on the federal Obamacare website before registering for an account. Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican and chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, wrote to the administration’s top information technology officers on Tuesday to demand answers about the purported maneuver. They cited committee briefings with CGI Federal — the lead contractor on HealthCare.gov, which channels Obamacare traffic from three dozen states — as the
On Sunday night, I wrote a short post soliciting stories from my readers about how Obamacare has already immediately impacted their lives. I asked that all of these emails be directed to ObamacareMakesMeSick@Yahoo.com. I expected a response; I didn’t expect it to be quite so overwhelming. Over the last 24 hours, my inbox has been flooded with hundreds of emails. What you’ll read in this post represents a portion of them. I’m only one guy (with a fulltime job and twins) — I wasn’t able to go through every single message just yet. Some, I left out because the information
Does President Obama belong on the same list as John Kennedy and Bill Clinton when it comes to presidents who are sex symbols? That’s what Entertainment Tonight reporter Rocsi Diaz thinks. First Lady Michelle Obama chuckled and smiled as Diaz asked her what it’s like to be married to someone who’s seen by many women as a “sex symbol,” in an interview that aired Tuesday evening. “He’s got a little swag, you know, that’s okay,” the first lady said. “I’m proud of him. He’s a stylish man who is healthy and he’s smart and he’s passionate and he’s inspiring. And
That was America standing behind President Obama in the Rose Garden this week as he stammered, and droned on and on, trying to explain away the epic disaster that Obamacare has become even before it has begun “About three weeks ago, as the federal government shut down,” he began.Expectant and hopeful, America stood tall on the steps behind him for as long as she could. She was proud and gazed at the nation’s new top health care provider proudly. But as the excuses and mistruths mounted and the barrage of words rolled on and on and on, she could not
Healthcare insurance executives were received at the White House today — but not to confront President Obama about the flub-ridden exchange launched on Oct. 1. Instead, the CEOs of Aetna, Humana, CareFirst, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Health Net, Inc., Health Care Services Corporation, Independence Blue Cross, America’s Health Insurance Plans, Molina Healthcare, Centene Corp., Tufts Health Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Wellpoint and Kaiser Permanente got to meet with Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett. Meanwhile, on the Hill, Pelosi brushed off the tech implosion as something they just have to be able to fix because she doesn’t want to
Senate majority leader Harry Reid says that "Everybody" is "willing to pay more" taxes. He said so in an interview with a Nevada Public Radio host. “The only people who feel there shouldn’t be more coming in to the federal government from the rich people are the Republicans in the Congress,” Reid told the radio host, according to Roll Call. “Everybody else, including the rich people, are willing to pay more. They want to pay more.” Reid rebuked the Nevada Public Radio host when he was asked what Republicans would have to concede to get Medicare and Social Security cuts
After a shutdown fight that had Republicans in Congress taking sides against one another, the Senate minority whip put out a plea for unity today in the form of a Fox News op-ed. “In recent weeks, the national media have been obsessed with highlighting divisions and disagreements among Republicans on Capitol Hill. It’s time for GOP lawmakers to remind the American people of what unites us,” Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) wrote. “Republicans are united in our desire to dismantle President Obama’s health care law and replace it with patient-centered alternatives that reduce costs, expand quality insurance coverage, and improve access to
On Wednesday, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) revealed that he was working on a bill to delay the Obamacare individual mandate. He said in late September that he would support efforts to delay the individual mandate, but this is the first time that Manchin has signified that he will lead a legislative effort toward such a delay. Manchin’s spokesperson, Jonathan Kott, said Manchin will not back Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) proposal for an indefinite delay to work out insurance exchange glitches, but that he would instead work on a bill “to delay the pena
More than 700 websites have been created with names playing off of Obamacare or Healthcare.gov, making it likely that some Americans will mistakenly hand over private information to unknown third-parties. For instance, there is a website — www.obama-care.us — that brands itself as part of the "Obamacare enrollment team," directs people to an "Obamacare enrollment form" and asks users for their name, address, Social Security number and other contact information. According to a counter at the bottom of the page, more than 3,000 people have visited obama-care.us.
Juan Williams has a clear grip on responsibility for the failure of a program that got passed in Congress with no Republican votes, and implemented with no Republican management in a Democratic administration. Williams claims that the White House would have delayed the rollout of ObamaCare’s exchanges except for the opposition of the GOP to the program as a whole. As a result, Williams argues, Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius had no choice but to lie about the exchanges and let it unfold. Come on — you knew the media would eventually get around to this argument. You just didn’t
A top Senate Democrat said that a leading House Republican told President Obama that they could not ´even stand to look at you´ during negotiations over the government shutdown. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said in a Facebook post that the alleged confrontation happened during a meeting between Republicans and the president. "Many Republicans searching for something to say in defense of the disastrous shutdown strategy will say President Obama just doesn´t try hard enough to communicate with Republicans," Durbin said. "But in a ´negotiation´ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told the president: ´I cannot even stand to
President Barack Obama didn´t know of problems with the Affordable Care Act´s website -- despite insurance companies´ complaints and the site´s crashing during a test run -- until after its now well-documented abysmal launch, the nation´s health chief told CNN on Tuesday. In an exclusive interview with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, CNN´s Dr. Sanjay Gupta asked when the President first learned about the considerable issues with the Obamacare website. Sebelius responded that it was in "the first couple of days" after the site went live October 1. "But not before that?" Gupta followed up. To which Sebelius replied,
A change to the Marine Corps’ uniform hats could take the hard-nosed Leathernecks from the Halls of Montezuma to the shops of Christopher Street. Thanks to a plan by President Obama to create a “unisex” look for the Corps, officials are on the verge of swapping out the Marines’ iconic caps with a new hat that some have derided as so “girly” that they would make the French blush. “We don’t even have enough funding to buy bullets, and the DoD is pushing to spend $8 million on covers that look like women’s hats!” one senior Marine source fumed to
