Connecticut school shooting: no law can abolish the human capacity for evil

| The news coming out of Newtown, Connecticut is sickening. If reports are correct, a young man has killed a family member and 20 children at a school. It’s an act of animal savagery – yet it is also uniquely human. No animal would do this. According to Mother Jones, there have been at least 61 mass shootings in the last 30 years, including 15 in 2012. (Snip)You can take what lessons you want from these statistics, but I sincerely hope people will take time to cogitate before they do so.
|
Comments: As Stanley opines, we should be looking at what causes the sick or evil individual who does this sort of thing.

The terrible Ignorance of the Liberals and their perpetual presentism make them unable to comprehend much of what goes on in the world, none of which happens to be new at all.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster is a link to a Wikepedia article about the Bath public school massacre, the worst in U.S. history.
The resolute denial of ineradicable human evil is of course a fundamental characteristic of Leftist fantasy ideology. One might have thought that the slightest acquaintance with history or even a little honest introspection would quickly disabuse Leftists of their utterly fallacious ideas about human beings, but one would be mistaken. They cling to their illusions like the drowning to their flotsam.
There is nothing metaphysical or obscure about it. One need not believe in Original Sin or even the Id to acknowledge that human beings are capable of terrible acts of evil. It is quite disingenuous to pretend otherwise, especially in view of the record of the Left, the friends of humanity, when they acquire despotic power over people.

Wrong! As long as we have institutions and laws that are put in place to feed someone´s greed, urge for power or revenge, this mayhem will continue. If you want to stop the mayhem, then base your laws and institutions on moral reasons. Otherwise, expect more....lots more.

#4 has posted some extremely wise responses to the articles about the shooting. Unfortunately, those who hold similar viewpoints are about to be drowned out by the unwise- the mindless Hollywood celebrities, the opportunistic politicians, and the chattering media. We need to stand firm that it is the cultural rot that is the catalyst in these tragedies. All we then need is the selfish nihilist, devoid of any empathy, to then act out.

I´ve posted this on other threads, but the thing that most of these monsters have in common is that they are young, white men who are either in their teens or 20s. They have been diagnosed with Asbergers (highly function autism), ADHD, OCD or some other sort of behavior disorder. They are then given Class II Narcotics like Adderall, Ritalin, etc. Rarely do they actually undergo behavior therapy...and, often times the ADHD drugs are coupled with anti-depressants like Zoloft, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, etc. And guess what a lot of these young men do? Well, they do one of two things...they crush up the adderall and take it like straight cocaine, or they just go cold and stop taking it altogether or take it periodically.
The result -- they make themselves manic. They literally change the chemistry of their brains and their personalities. It´s a deadly problem. If they don´t kill or severely damage themselves, they kill other people. Take away the guns, and they´ll find another way to create destruction and chaos.
They (the media) stopped reporting this, because the gun story is always so much better, but all the young men in the ´90s who shot up their schools were all on these drugs. Every last one of them.

America´s Founders, inspired & guided by their Judeo-Christian heritage & personal faith, in prayerful Wisdom sought from God, to establish the U.S.A. upon solid, timeless principles to secure Life & Liberty for each individual American citizen. The Founders in Wisdom did thus value, treasure and seek to secure, ´´Domestic Tranquillity,´´ and the Right to Pursue Happiness here in this brave new country. America´s is a diverse society yet has always been a society known for its benevolences, good will and good cheer because of the faith of its good & free people, united in the Constitutional goal of equal respect & opportunity for each individual, ...´´E Pluribus Unim,´´ has always been the determined, principled goal, and American´s have fought & died for that peaceful America, ...and for the world beyond, a welcoming haven from tyranny. ...A light of truth shining in a dark world.
But today there is much senseless PC-driven division and strife fosterd by the disruptive agenda of the statists and their lsm/hollyweird/musis/alphabets. We can no longer even think of once common daily things such as safely going for an evening walk as was taken for granted just a few decades ago here in the USA. (-Remember that lilac scene in, ´´It´s a Wonderful Life?´´) We hardly gave a thought to any threats against our personal safety nor of our property as doors & windows were routinely left unlocked at least until the mid ´60s.
The farther our society gets from knowing the difference between, ´right vs. wrong,´ ...and CHOOSING the right, and the more we ignore the basic Wisdom of The Golden Rule, the more rude & crude society becomes. We have witnessed this negative CHANGE since the ´70s.

Mentally deranged individuals commit violent acts in many different ways: bombs, knives, guns, etc. For me, this tragedy isn´t about guns but liberal laws that allow maniacs to roam the streets. Pass some laws to involuntarily lock up these nut jobs before they destroy others; hospitals for the Criminally Insane exist for a reason. Contrary to Liberal do-goodism, not all maniacs can be helped or should be allowed to live in society, period. Society has the right to protect itself from these out of control lunatics.

Two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing have been singled out in surveillance videos of the scene, sources told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday. U.S. counter-terrorism and law enforcement officials told The Times that the suspects in the Boston bombings were seen in a department store video that caught images of a man leaving a backpack near the finish line. A second federal official said he has been briefed that authorities believe a second video or photo shows “two men with two backpacks.”

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

Beautiful Rosa Parks sits alone in the Montgomery, Ala., city bus she desegregated, an image endlessly replicated, most recently on an American postage stamp issued in February to commemorate Black History Month and what would have been Parks’s 100th birthday.(Snip) President Obama voiced the familiar view that she was “just wanting to get home after a long day at work” and “may not have been planning to make history.” But as Jeanne Theoharis shows in her insightful biography, “The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks,” this perspective obscures Parks’s lifelong activism and “fierce determination.”

Leaders of the five BRICS nations plan to create a development bank in a direct challenge to the World Bank that they accuse of Western bias. The bank would use $50 billion of seed capital shared equally between Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa but would undoubtedly be dominated by China. It would be the first institution of the informal forum started in 2009 amid the economic meltdown to chart a new and more equitable world economic order.

SANFORD -- For the first time, we are hearing from the teenager believed to be the last person to talk to Trayvon Martin moments before his deadly confrontation with George Zimmerman. The teen, known only as "Witness 8," is considered to be the prosecution´s key witness, but Zimmerman´s attorneys said she lied during a deposition by the Martin family´s attorney, Benjamin Crump. A new motion filed Monday said the state knew Witness 8, said to be a girlfriend of Trayvon Martin´s from Miami, had been lying, but never came out with it.

SANFORD - Attorneys for George Zimmerman have filed a new defense witness list, and it includes more than 130 people. Among them: Trayvon Martin´s mother and father, their attorney Benjamin Crump, former Sanford police Chief Bill Lee Jr. and former State Attorney Norm Wolfinger. It also includes Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte and several other members of Trayvon´s family, including his step-brother and the Oviedo cousin with whom he´d spent the night the evening before he was fatally shot. Attorneys seldom call all the witnesses they list, still the list placed in the official court file Monday is extraordinary

It´s a measure of how little he values the special relationship — and a sign of his own smallness. Back in more gracious times, vice presidents routinely attended funerals of foreign dignitaries. As such, the presence of Vice President Joe Biden — if not Obama himself — would seem fitting for as significant a U.S. ally as the late Prime Minister Thatcher, if not out of warmth of feeling, then simply to represent the U.S.´ gratitude. As we now move into the official Political Aftermath period of the Boston bombing — the period that will determine the long-term legislative fallout of the atrocity — the dynamics of privilege will undoubtedly influence the nation’s collective reaction to the attacks. That’s because privilege tends to determine: 1) which groups are — and are not — collectively denigrated or targeted for the unlawful actions of individuals; and 2) how big and politically game-changing the overall reaction ends up being.

Mark Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), is threatening to back an election challenge against Sen. At a Christian Science Monitor breakfast on Tuesday, Kelly said he would back an opponent to Flake if the "right candidate" was available and if the senator failed to support a background check bill, according to reports. Flake, who is not up for reelection until 2018, has been close to Kelly and Giffords. But Kelly said the issue of control trumped their ties.
