| Last week, I wrote about the fact that President Obama’s approach to taxes as part of the “fiscal cliff” negotiations is billed as taxing the rich but would end up hurting the poor and possibly deepening inequality. Policies built on the flimsy populism of “fairness”–at least as modern Democrats define it–are quite often devoid of economic common sense. What’s more, the Democrats seem to know this. They want a Soma like population totally dependent on Dems generosity with other people´s money. Why are you being so insulting No. 1? "Bonehead", "jellyfish", and "get drunk" is no way to talk about a guy with Boehner´s responsibility. How would you like to try to cope wth the results of the election with the hand he has been left with? You assume failure before you see it and your suggestion that Boehner gets drunk on the job (or off it) is a low blow and something you know nothing about.

Last month, the Supreme Court decided to allow the importation and resale of foreign editions of American works, which are often cheaper than domestic editions. Until now, courts have forbidden such activity as a violation of copyright. Cyprus postponed for yet another day an emergency parliamentary session to discuss a bailout plan that will see the country´s bank depositors share part of the burden, the house speaker said Monday. The Cypriot parliament is now scheduled to meet Tuesday at 1600 GMT, house speaker Yannakis Omirou told reporters. The parliament had been due to meet Monday at 1400 GMT as the government sought to push the levy through parliament before banks reopened Tuesday after a three-day bank holiday. The vote delay means that the bank holiday will likely be extended for at least another day.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon.
