More than a month remains until President Barack Obama’s corporate-financed second inaugural, but he is already yesterday’s news. There are political battles to be fought and budgets to pass (or not pass) and most likely wars to wage and natural disasters to endure before the country elects its next president. But all of this is a sideshow to the chatterers and scribblers who are busy currying favor with the liberal establishment. The real story, we learn from our newspapers and magazines and blogs and television specials, is whether the current secretary of state will run for president in 2016.
People are looking at Clinton in 2016,only because obama´s so bad and that´s within the dems.
Take the vote to topple the unions in Mich. This would never have happened without Obama getting elected and the 2010 backlash. The people being affected by this probably voted for Obama over 90% both times.Obama never supported the Wisconsin unions when that flap went on but unions still kneel and bow to his every wish.
Obama doesn´t want to admit there´s a fiscal cliff because that would send alarm bells off among his supporters who want more gifts from the government. The meager tax increase he wants is symbolic to make these people think Obama´s getting even for them. When the money disappears in the government black hole, they´ll wonder where their check got to.
I guess Hillary represents some sense of stability to these people, reflecting off the job Bubba did and they want to relive those years.I never dreamed there´d be a worse president than Clinton but of course I never saw obama coming.
If she loses the presidency or the nomination, she will sojourn on, in "no ways tarred" forever, running again and again, like a candidate I recall from years back, one Lars "America First" Daley. She will be Hillary! "America Last" Clinton.
The simple fact is that there is money in sycophancy.
Kissing her ample behind now helps one secure a place (a PAID place, that is) on any future campaign. If she decides not to run, it´s a resume builder for a place on any other Democratic campaign ("I worked with Hillary").
These people promote themselves by promoting Hillary.
Hillary´s fan base must be blocking out the bad memories of how Obama beat her soundly in the 2008 primary races. Her campaign was managed by staffer Maggie Williams and others who had zero campaign experience at the national level.
My bet is that she wants to run her own foundation with minimum heavy lifting, just like Bill does. Most of all she wants to be a grandmother, based on what I´ve read.
Those who long for the prosperity of the Clinton years would do well to take notice of the fact that the bent one presided over a ´dot-com´ boom nicely laid over a real estate boom. Since then the golden goose of private prosperity has been demonized and regulated and taxed and it practitioners are rendering the kind of spirited competition and genius that occurs in in motor sports when the ´Safety Car´ remains on the track for the entire race. Entrepreneurs love a challenge but hate a ´fix´.
The dims dream of the old Clinton years, forgetting that he signed welfare reform and announced the end of big government. The dot.com revolution made him look like an economic genius and he was lucky to have few international events with which to deal. Since dims are unintelligible it´s hard to know what they miss--moderate politics? Sex with an intern? Serial sexual harassment? James Carville?
As long as Hillary has Bengahzi hanging over her head, so won´t be running. This is not going to go away. Obama and his Thugs think if they stall long enough we will get tired of asking. I think the longer they stall the more the Republicans in Congress will dig in their heels and keep the scandal alive. It´s a no winner for Hillary. If she testifies, they will nail her. If she doesn´t, they will crucify her!
Hardly anyone understands why Harold Stassen ran for president on so many occasions. First of all he never ran against an incumbent Republican. But most importantly, he was in an international business and being a presidential candidate gave him prestige overseas, even though many people laughed at him here. However, Stassen had the last laugh as his presidential campaigns made him tons of money.
“Phony” is the new “racist” – at least to the Obama administration. Members and their supporters keep using it in official talking points to describe the myriad scandals encircling the White House like a fog in hopes of shutting down an argument of facts. In a July speech at Knox College, President Obama said, “With this endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals, Washington has taken its eye off the ball.” He added that Republican attention to and criticism of the scandals “needs to stop.” The president’s spokesman, Jay Carney, asked recently to identify which scandals are
On Election Night 2010, I watched the returns come in alongside a prominent liberal columnist. As he observed the Republicans capture the House of Representatives and gain in the Senate, in governor’s mansions, and in state houses across the country, my friend put the best spin on events that he could. “Well,” I remember him saying, “the Obama electorate just didn’t show up.” How right he was. The voters who went to the polls in 2010 were older and whiter than the voters in 2008. Whites made up 77 percent of the electorate in 2010. And the Republican share of that vote
Where’s the cash, Whitey? How very thoughtful of you to want to “cooperate” in solving all the cold-case mob murders, even though in most of them we actually know who pulled the trigger, or at least set the murder in motion. Any number of them need to be solved officially — I’m thinking Donald McGonagle, Louie Litif and Donald Killeen, just to name a few. But the real remaining Whitey mystery is, what exactly happened to all those “millions upon millions upon millions of dollars,” to quote Whitey lawyer Jay W. Carney, that he made in the rackets, mostly cocaine? All the cops
Baltimore- In the near future, historians will struggle to locate the precise moment when civilization’s wheels finally, irretrievably came off. By then, there will have been too many such moments to pinpoint one with any certainty. But I’ll mark the day as having occurred on a recent August weekend when, standing in the concourse of the Baltimore Convention Center, I watch grown men with problem skin and five o’clock shadows prance around in pony ears, rainbow manes, and braided tails lashed to their belt-loops, doling out “free hugs,” starting “fun! fun! fun!” chants, and spontaneously breaking into song. “Give me a
The summer meetings of national political parties are usually quiet affairs, but this week’s Republican National Committee meeting in Boston is full of controversy about who should moderate and run the 2016 GOP presidential-primary debates. A few RNC members are even talking about ditching conventional journalists as moderators and bringing in Sean Hannity or Mark Levin to do the deed. “I actually think that’s a very good idea,” RNC chairman Reince Priebus told Fox News’s Andrea Tantaros. “I mean, there’s a lot of good people out there that can actually understand the base of the Republican Party, the primary voters.”
Newly declassified documents, obtained by George Washington University´s National Security Archive, appear to for the first time acknowledge the existence of Area 51. Hundreds of pages describe the genesis of the Nevada site that was home to the government´s spy plane program for decades. The documents do not, however, mention aliens. The project started humbly. In the pre-drone era about a decade after the end of World War II, President Eisenhower signed off on a project aimed at building a high-altitude, long-range, manned aircraft that could photograph remote targets. Working together, the Air Force and Lockheed developed a craft that could
Jimmy Carter infamously declared that America suffered from an “inordinate fear of Communism,” but at least, as far as I can recall, he didn’t actively promote or side with Communist movements. Today Communism has collapsed, and America’s number one enemy is the Muslim Brotherhood, progenitor of al Qaeda, Hamas and other terrorist groups. Barack Obama not only tolerates the Brotherhood–”Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations”–but, for reasons that remain unfathomable, he has generally supported it. Egypt
While the American media captures every move Justin Bieber makes, and news items one week old are treated as ancient history, Elvis Presley—who died 36 years ago today—remains nearly as popular as ever. Why? Well, it´s not just because our popular culture idolizes its heroes to near-messianiac heights. That´s a given. No, at the heart of the Presley phenomenon is something much simpler and peculiarly American: dreaming big dreams and making those dreams come true.In the final scene of the last non-documentary movie of his career, 1969’s Change of Habit, Presley is shown strumming away at a guitar in church while
Liz Cheney on Wednesday asked Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi to reimburse the U.S. Treasury if he accepts federal subsidies as part of his congressional health care plan offered through an exchange, as set up under recent health care reforms sometimes called Obamacare. In a Wednesday interview, Enzi answers Cheney’s request by saying he’s been trying to defund and dismantle Obamacare since 2009 and will continue to do so. It was the second consecutive day Cheney used Obamacare as campaign fodder against her opponent and fellow Republican in the 2014 Senate race. Cheney spurred her series of attacks Tuesday after the
NARAL, the big abortion lobbying and pestering propaganda group, wanted a donation for a silent auction. Austin, TX, coffee shop Summermoon declined to donate. Note: They declined to donate to an allegedly pro-choice group. Which, last time I checked, is their choice to make. Since the donation would come from their property, and all. For exercising their choice, NARAL and the thugs at Burnt Orange Report — Texas’ leftwing moonbat blog — are naming and shaming them as — get this – Anti-choice. For making a choice that the pro-abortionists disagree with, they’re “anti-choice.” One could be forgiven for wondering whether choice is really, at
Is this more damaging to Snowden or to Dell and the NSA, which had 11 more months than thought to sniff out what he was doing and pinch him before he started working at Booz Allen Hamilton to harvest even juicier stuff? Former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden began downloading documents describing the U.S. government’s electronic spying programs while he was working for Dell Inc in April 2012, almost a year earlier than previously reported, according to U.S. officials and other sources familiar with the matter… Snowden downloaded information while employed by Dell about eavesdropping programs run by the NSA and Britain’s Government
A dreamy Hawaiian vacation day turned nightmarish for a 20-year-old German woman when she had to be revived on the scene after losing her arm in a shark attack at Palauea beach in Maui, according to the Maui Police Department. Local authorities were notified of the attack Wednesday afternoon after a kayaker and two of the woman’s friends heard a loud scream in the water where the tourist was snorkeling. “I heard a scream like I’d never heard before,” witness Andree Conley-Kapoi told ABCNews.com. “I told everyone around me that a scream like that could only mean a shark attack.” Conley-Kapoi said a
President Obama´s former personal aide said Wednesday that the president was so "irritated" by controversy over his birthplace that he wanted to hold an "impromptu press conference" when he discovered the long-form version of his birth certificate, only to be dissuaded by his advisers. Reggie Love, the former body man to the president, told UCLA´s Luskin School of Public Affairs that the delay in producing the president´s birth certificate was because when "your parents don´t live together (and) you travel all over the world, documents get lost." "He wanted to just have an impromptu press conference, just walk in to
Questions have been raised over financial dealings within the Clinton family charity that may cause problems for Hillary Clinton´s possible 2016 presidential run. New reports have revealed that the Clinton Foundation has been ´in the red´ for years even though the charity has raised hundreds of millions of dollars each year, showing the high cost of running the worldwide charity. Former President Bill Clinton called in a team of lawyers to help examine the charity´s financial standing over a year ago and they drew some unsettling conclusions. A scathing article in The New York Times tells how the ´rotating board
Oprah Winfrey and her co-star in Lee Daniels’ The Butler Forest Whitaker appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 Thursday night to promote their film. During the interview, Anderson Cooper asked Winfrey to relate the historical themes of the movie to the modern day struggles for African-Americans, including the Trayvon Martin case. Winfrey said she “loves” the film in light of the discussion on race, because it “brings context” to the conversation. She described how the film begins with a lynching scene and ends with walking into President Obama’s office, showing how much has “happened in the span of one man’s lifetime
There is no way to sugarcoat it: Egypt stands on the brink of a bloody, nasty civil war, and, at the very least, sustained civil unrest and sectarian violence. The current confrontation between the Egyptian military and radical Islamists — led by the Muslim Brotherhood — will not end well and the MB and its allies will not go quietly. The Brothers — the original modern Islamic terror group and the ideological source of both al-Qaeda and Hamas — are in no mood to negotiate or compromise. Think about it: After decades of patience, stealth, and gradualism,
Former Obama "body man" Reggie Love spoke with interviewer Jim Newton during a lunch at UCLA´s Luskin School of Public Affairs on July 18, 2013. Highlights of this interview were briefly posted on YouTube Wednesday (August 13) before being removed because the audio embarrassingly noted that Love and Obama played 15 hands of spades during the bulk of the raid on the bin Laden compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Love also commented on the release of Obama´s long-form "birth certificate," as follows:
The only surprise here is the source. The details are all too familiar: Employers around the country, from fast-food franchises to colleges, have told NBC News that they will be cutting workers’ hours below 30 a week because they can’t afford to offer the health insurance mandated by the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. “To tell somebody that you’ve got to decrease their hours because of a law passed in Washington is very frustrating to me,” said Loren Goodridge, who owns 21 Subway franchises, including a restaurant in Kennebunk. “I know the impact I’m having on some of
Four West Pensacola juveniles and a 19-year-old attacked a 77-year-old man Monday night, according to an Escambia County Sheriff’s Office news release. Demetrius Wilson, 12, Javontae Wilson, 13, and Keyon Black, 16, are each charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery on a person older than 65 years of age. Alicia Wilson, 15, and Shaknee Golay, 19, are each being charged with aggravated assault on a person older than 65 years of age. The incident happened about 9 p.m. Monday when dispatchers received a report of several teenagers chasing a man with a stick, the news release said. The victim,
The former CIA contractor, who is currently in Russia with temporary asylum, handed over an internal audit and other top-secret documents detailing the illegal behaviour. Most of the infractions involved unauthorised surveillance of Americans or foreign intelligence targets in the United States, both of which are restricted by law and executive order, The Washington Post said. They ranged from significant violations of law to typographical errors that resulted in unintended interception of US emails and telephone calls, it said. The Post said the documents it obtained were part of a trove of materials provided to the paper by Mr Snowden
Reggie Love says he and President Obama played cards during the Osama bin Laden raid, and that the president told him, "I can´t watch this entire thing." (Snip for video)"“Most people were like down in the Situation Room and [President Obama] was like, ‘I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing,’ We must have played 15 games of spades,” said Love at a public event. Love was Obama´s "body man," and spent much time with his boss while he worked for Obama at the White House.
Ten days after claiming the premeditated lynching of Emmett Till almost 60 years ago was the same thing as George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin in what jurors determined was self-defense, Oprah Winfrey Thursday continued to inject racism into this issue. Appearing on CNN´s Anderson Cooper 360, Winfrey said, "It´s ridiculous to look at that case and not to think that race was involved" (video follows with transcript and commentary): ANDERSON COOPER, HOST: I spoke at length to Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey about the film and about race in America, particularly after the Trayvon Martin case. Here´s part of that interview. (BEGIN
The Missouri State Fair will force rodeo clowns to complete sensitivity training after a clown mocked President Obama in a stunt one spectator likened to a Ku Klux Klan rally. The fair’s commission also approved a lifetime ban on the offending clown. The controversy began on Saturday at the fair in Sedalia. A clown in an Obama mask with a broom handle attached to his backside moved into the arena as another clown called out over the microphone, “This bull’s going to get’cha, Obama! He’s gonna get’cha!” The fair commission has called the stunt “unacceptable,” and approved a measure that would
Climate change will lock the world into more frequent and severe heatwaves in the next few decades, researchers have claimed. They say there will be a ´several-fold´ increase in heatwaves up to 2040, regardless of how much carbon dioxide goes into the atmosphere, but future efforts to slash pollution could stem the rise in extreme heat events later on in the century. The last decade has seen an exceptional number of extreme heatwaves around the world, hitting the U.S. in 2012, Russia in 2010, Australia in 2009, and Europe in 2003 with damaging impacts on health, the economy, agriculture and
