| In popular wisdom, one-time presidential runner-up Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) is likely to be nominated by President Barack Obama for Secretary of Defense or Secretary of State. But if Kerry does get the nod, a group credited with helping to thwart his presidential bid could re-organize to take him down once again. The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group formed of military veterans who served alongside Kerry, worked to bring attention to the senator’s anti-war activities following his military service and to raise doubts about the truth of Kerry’s own accounts of his conduct

The Swift boat veterans were not about politics but truth. One would think men that value honor above base politics would be willing to address Jon Carey´s past and immune to the usual Kneepad media´s vitriol.

Thank goodness for the Swift Boat Vets...they just don´t give up. What a great bunch of guys. To say they don´t think much of John Kerry would be an understatement.
Oh! John, we are still waiting to see that DD 201 File you promised to show us. Do you have it yet?

So tell me people, who would you rather see Obama use a SoS?
He is a far cry better than Susan Rice.
Also it would get Lurch out of the Senate. That might be useful. There can´t be too many more candidates like Elizabeth Warren to fill the spot.
US foreign policy is going to be bad with Obama regardless. Kerry at least doesn´t shot his mouth off.

Kerry doesn´t shoot his mouth off? What about if you don´t go to college, you wind up "stuck in Iraq?" What about his false testimony about soldiers performing atrocities "reminiscent of ´Jenjis´ Khan?" I don´t care if it was a long time ago; he never disavowed that testimony.

John Kerry is a disgrace to both the Senate and if it were possible Massachusetts. IMHO anyone who believes he will be "better" than Clinton doesn´t know Kerry´s record. He testified before Congress about Vietnam, with lies about "winter soldier", making life even more miserable for POW´s and OUR Military while he polished his THREE Purple Hearts for a total of less than 10 weeks in Vietnam. He should have been tried AS a traitor. That´s who Kerry is. He is certainly NOT simply a harmless dunce residing in a mansion paid for by his wife´s long-dead Republican husband. He would be a danger to this Country. Good Grief!

In the world of ´real politik´ this is probably a done deal. The Senate won´t object to Mr. Kerry´s lies for he is a member of the club. I wish the Swiftee´s all the good fortune available this Christmas Season, but the only impediment to Mr. Kerry is the Senate, and we know what their ethics are like.

I hope the swifties run thousands of ads with video clips of his testimony and throwing his medals. Throw in a few hanoi jane photos for association. These past few days have been kind of like a Class Reunion: first, Ms. Clinton´s hair story got all the fun nicknames going again- PIAPS, PETUIATE, Monica´s Boyfriends´ Wife, Cankles, etc., etc. -now today, with the Susan Rice withdrawal, we get to hear all the vintage Kerry stuff- Jenjhis John, Monsewer Jean-Fraud Cair-ree, Lurch, Horseface, etc. Kind of relieves the post -election funk, putting the old sportsman back in a good mood. Looking forward to getting back in the fray. First to last, a chance to gloat is all we ask.

As a proud Vietnam vet (survivor), I´ll contribute (again) to any Swiftboat campaign. Kerry is lying traitor and sefl-aggrandizing SOB. He was no ´hero´ but all pretense. I know of no other junior officer who took a movie camera to ´Nam to film his "exploits." Those of us who were smeared by his libels also know that the only guys who got to leave before their year was up were either very seriously wounded, or in a transfer case with a toe tag. Dishonest and a phony, Kerry would make a terrible representative for our nation to the world.

If you want The Haughty, French-Looking John Kerry to get bloodied during his confirmation as Sec State, you´ll need to look outside his buddies in the Senate for it. McCain and Graham will roll over and show their bellies immediately. So the Swifties are the ONLY group that will provide insight and ask questions about this "90 day Wonder" and his shameful, self-promoting, yet cowardly performance as a "soldier".

Given the dims´ bench you always have to ask yourself which of the evils is Mr. or Ms. Lesser. With Rice vs. Kerry: which do you prefer, a liar or a traitor? The choices are likely to be so appalling that people will begin to miss the PIAPS.

I, for one, will never forget nor forgive the horse-faced, gigolo, wannabe elitist who put himself in for numerous fictitious awards and then utilized them to "game" his Vietnam Tour from 12 months down to 3.
As if that were not enough to never be allowed to show his face again in this country, he opportunistically joined Jane Fonda and the "Vietnam Vets Against The WAR" to falsely claim before Congress that American troops were raping, murdering, looting, etc. to ingratiate himself with the scum who he then embraced as his political base. When the Officers with whom he briefly served in Vietnam rose up as a group to denounce Kerry as "Unfit to Command," the media bent over backwards to denounce them as "Swift boating" and as being without merit. Thank God for those Swift Boat leaders! Without them Kerry and his partner, the now disgraced John Edwards, would have very likely been elected. Count me among those who will shout from the roof top that John Kerry is a Knave and a Fool!

Only difference I can see between Rice and Kerry, is that Kerry has learned the subtle art of the quiet backstab as opposed to Rice and her ´flipping the bird´ out in the open. I am convinced that when Kerry and McCain went to VN back in the middle 90´s they nailed the coffin shut on finding out if there are any more of our pow´s still there.
John Kerry is an unjailed traitor to this country. If the voters of MA are too ignorant to not see through him, that is their problem, not mine. I am all for the Swift Boaters taking this guy on again.

There is no one in the Democrat stable that is honest or trustworthy. Not one. So in the long run it doesn´t make any difference who Obama nominates. They are all Communists and this is exactly what has been planned for decades. Will the Swift Boaters show up for this fight? I certainly hope so. One of our friends who fought in Nam is pretty discouraged at every thing that has happened. He said he fought the Commies in Nam when he was young, but he never thought he would have to still be fighting them at age 70. Yeah, me either, but it is what it is. They´re here and now they are clear and it´s time to stop them before it´s too late.

Democrats have a real knack for putting their most unworthy, ill-suited, damaged goods up on pedestals. Those Democrats get away with doing so primarily because their loyal, lapdog media enthusiastically morph into their corrupt “invent, omit and distort” modes. Hence John Kerry, Barack Obama and the most popular, beloved, idolized Democrat of all… Bill “Kiss it!” Clinton.
How fortunate we are to have the courageous Swift Boat Veterans to expose the truth about Kerry. If called upon, may they do it once again!

Northwestern University continued to stumble over diversity issues this week as Mexican students voiced disagreement with a campuswide letter that advised students not to celebrate Cinco de Mayo by engaging in racially-offensive activities, such as eating tacos and drinking tequila. The letter was sent to students via e-mail, and published in The Daily Northwestern last week. Leaders of Alianza, a Latino student group, and the Associated Student Government called on students to remember that Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over France in the Battle of Puebla. It is not a day to throw a sombrero-themed party, they said.

Earlier in the day, Maggie and I noted that Wednesday´s Benghazi hearing on the Hill marked Hillary Clinton´s the unofficial transition from untouchable national treasure to a fair-game 2016 target for national Republicans. From ABC´s Jonathan Karl, back-handed validation of that theory: In late 2012, the Romney campaign -- struggling, as always, to attract women voters -- put the kibosh on a very, very tough RNC ad slamming Clinton on Benghazi by contrasting her response to the real attacks with her (in)famous "3 a.m." ad in 2008 which was meant to demean Barack Obama´s foreign policy chops. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced Thursday that HHS will spend $150 million to teach people how to enroll in the Obamacare exchanges, after a Democratic senator scolded her for running a poor “public information campaign.” “Investing in health centers for outreach and enrollment assistance provides one more way the Obama administration is helping consumers understand their options and enroll in affordable coverage,” Sebelius said Thursday. HHS promised that the health centers would provide “unbiased information to consumers” about various provisions in the law. The health centers funding complements the navigators program, HHS noted.

The U.S. Department of Education announced Thursday that beginning with the 2014-2015 federal student aid form, the Department will — for the first time — collect income “from a dependent student’s legal parents regardless of the parents’ marital status or gender, if those parents live together.” The new FAFSA form will use terms like “Parent 1” and “Parent 2” instead of gender-specific terms like “mother” and “father.” “All students should be able to apply for federal student aid within a system that incorporates their unique family dynamics,” Secretary of Education Arne Duncan said in a statement.

(Snip) He spoke to two students who had built a robot with a mechanical arm. The president urged them to give him a demonstration, saying, “TV likes to see it move.”

While legislative battles over gun control and government spending have dominated much of the president’s agenda this year, President Obama heads to Austin, Texas, today to bring attention to job creation and manufacturing. While in Texas, the president will announce two new executive orders during his first of a series of “Middle Class Jobs & Opportunity Tours.” The executive actions are a fulfillment of promises made in the president’s State of the Union address this year to strengthen manufacturing. The first executive order will launch competitions for three Manufacturing Innovation Institutes, partnerships focused on developing manufacturing technologies,

ROME —Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday the transfer of advanced missile defense systems from Russia to Syria would be a "destabilizing" factor for Israel´s security. Kerry said the U.S. has expressed concerns about what such defensive systems in Syria would mean for Israel´s security. He wouldn´t address what the missiles might mean for Syria´s civil war. He spoke to reporters in Rome after the Wall Street Journal reported that Russia was preparing to sell the weapons to President Bashar Assad´s regime. Coming just days after Kerry hailed what he described as a U.S.-Russia breakthrough on Syria,

For several years now, the Gabriel family had observed dozens if not hundreds of bees coming in and out of a hole in the stucco fence that surrounds the back of their organic garden near the Deco District on the West Side. But it wasn´t until after their gardener warned that the beehive had probably gotten “pretty big” inside that wall that Cindy Gabriel decided to do something about it. And even her mother, Olga, had to squeal in surprise when told Wednesday just how many bees had taken up residence in the hive, estimated at about 4 feet tall

AUSTIN – President Barack Obama will officially launch his national campaign to rev up his agenda for economic prosperity when the wheels of Air Force One touch down here Thursday. The presidential aircraft is scheduled to land shortly after noon at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, itself a symbol of Austin´s economic resilience, having long served as an Air Force base before it was closed in the 1990s under a round of federal base closures. A White House spokesman at the airport´s South Terminal area, where the media, Secret Service and security and emergency management personnel are gathered,

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

The White House on Wednesday stood by its story that the Obama administration remained unsure exactly who was responsible for the attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi nearly five days after it occurred even though new revelations show Ansar al-Sharia’s direct involvement. Gregory Hicks, the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya and a self-described whistleblower, testified before a Congressional committee Wednesday that the body of Ambassador J. Christpher Stevens was missing for hours during the attack after being dragged out of the diplomatic post in Benghazi.

Former Gov. Mark Sanford completed the trail to political redemption Tuesday with a win over Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to reclaim his old seat in Congress. Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. Turnout was heavier than expected, with about 32 percent of the district’s 455,702 registered voters casting ballots. Sanford, who has never lost an election, returns to the 1st District seat he held for three terms from 1995-2001. It’s a remarkable comeback for a man many pundits had written off after his highly publicized affair with an Argentine

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, tells Benghazi witnesses that "death is a part of life." CUMMINGS: And, as I listen to your testimony I could not help but think of something that I said very recently -- two years ago now -- in a eulogy for a relative. I said that death is a part of life, so often we have to find a way to make life a part of death. And, I guess the reason why I´m saying that, going back to something Mr. Nordstrom said, he wanted,

There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W. Bush years -- led by that least-credible of champions, the almost-always-wrong Darrell Issa --

British physicist Stephen Hawking has dropped plans to attend a major international conference in Israel in June, citing his belief that he should respect a Palestinian call to boycott contacts with Israeli academics. The University of Cambridge released a statement Wednesday indicating that Hawking had told the Israelis last week that he would not be attending "based on advice from Palestinian academics that he should respect the boycott." University officials said they had "previously understood" that Hawking´s decision was based solely on health concerns — he is 71 and has severe disabilities — but had now been told otherwise by Hawking´s office.

Ahead of the Benghazi hearings in which three witnesses are set to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade invited Fox News analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters to discuss the issue. Peters was unflinching in his criticism of the “cowardly” Obama administration — and the “establishment media” that aids it. “Is this a national security coverup?” Kilmeade asking, explaining that the witness testimony is expected to say the administration was deceitful in its handling of the situation. “The administration, facing the election, went into panic mode, wanted to contain it,”

Fans of Glenn Beck are complaining about what I wrote yesterday about his speech at the National Rifle Association convention, where he used a giant image of Michael Bloomberg photoshopped into what appeared to be an image of Hitler with his arm raised in a Nazi salute and wearing an armband. The Beck crowd now tells me that it wasn’t Hitler’s picture into which the New York mayor was transposed but that of Communist leader Vladimir Lenin. They say that means I owe Beck an apology along with the Anti-Defamation League and others who were also outraged by it.

Mark Sanford has won the South Carolina special election in a competitive race for what in normal circumstances is a safe Republican seat. The former governor beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert Busch, for the state’s 1st congressional district. The AP called the race for Sanford early in the evening, with the Republican leading Colbert Busch 54 percent 46 percent.
