| Embattled U.N. envoy Susan Rice is dropping out of the running to be the next secretary of state after months of criticism over her Benghazi comments, she told NBC News on Thursday. “If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects. “That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country...Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy

Those nasty old partisan politics again. Tsk tsk. Too bad the partisan Republicans can´t or won´t be as non-partisan as the Leftists are with their politics. Republicans are partisan and wrong, even evil for opposing non-partisan Leftist politics. Leftists on the other hand are simply correct and just. This means that criticism on Leftist politics, which are by definition true and non-partisan, is the equivalent of hate speech. Something like that. It´s not completely logical or even rational, but it´s the emotional truth for Leftists. Conservatives tend to think people like Susan Rice know better and are lying when they say they are sad about partisan politics, i.e. about the fact that everyone doesn´t agree with them. No doubt some are posturing and pretending something they do not really believe - but I fear the horrible truth is that the majority are perfectly sincere when they talk such incredible nonsense. They really cannot fathom why any decent person would not see things the way they do. After all, their motives are pure and their beliefs are the only possible true ones.

The newest member of the Bush family is Margaret Laura “Mila” Hager. The Bushes’ daughter Jenna Bush Hager — wife of Henry Hager — gave birth to the child Saturday at 8:43 p.m. in New York City. Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday.
