| New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said that he wasn´t responsible for helping President Obama to win a second term in an interview with ABC News´ Barbara Walters set to air Wednesday. Christie has been criticized by some Republicans for embracing President Obama in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, speaking appreciatively about the federal assistance offered to his state. But Christie adamantly denied that the bipartisan photo-ops with the president were of any assistance on Election Day. "First of all, I didn´t help [Obama] win," Christie said.

Comments: Well it certainly didn´t hurt him either.

For better or worse Christie is finished. He will see the writing on the wall when grass roots Republican support collapses under him (I know the mental image is too tempting) next year. Unless another RR emerges Jeb/Marco looks like the ticket. Jeb will have run from Texas as the Constituion does not allow one a State ticket.

Christie helped Obama with the sham that Obama was some sweet, caring guy who cared about New Jersey. The area is still a hell hole, but everyone thought Obama cared so much, before and after he ran off to Vegas for a fundraiser.
If Christie had thrown down the gauntlet and said, "Mr. President, stay in this area and do your job," the impression would have been much different.
Christie also rudely said he didn´t give a damn about whether Romney visited or not, and as far as I know, never thanked Romney and the citizens of Ohio for their fundraising efforts and food/blanket collection.
Christie is a graceless clod, who somehow found his softer side when Obama visited. "Oh boy, Springsteen will not ignore me anymore! I have arrived!
Christie makes me sick and I will never again give him the time of day.

Rasmussen, and many many other polling org´s and the voters they polled say otherwise, Governor.
According to Rasmussen, %64 said the response to Sandy was integral to their vote.
I´ve long said the whole American trend of "star-intercoursing" diminishes us as a people. Christie is proof positive.....he sacrificed AMERICA for a kiss from freaking Bruce Springsteen, one of the WORST singers ever to walk a stage, and one of the worst humans to walk the earth.

Christie thought Obama had (pink tulle)coattails big enough to support his Gibraltar-esque butt and he wanted to ride ´em all the way to... He misjudged everyone´s reactions to shamelessness. Of course, he wanted Obama to be re-elected, and he wanted to be part of it in any way he could. And we can reduce our deficit, stabilize our debt, and do so without sacrificing the kinds of investments that are going to be required to grow. During his remarks, the president spoke of the

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

She begins by noting a how a minor recent diplomatic walkback highlights the White House’s contradictory policy: It was only fitting that the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announces another traditional trip to the Middle East on the same day that the U.S. embassy in Cairo withdraws its tweet advancing the case for Egyptian Comedian Bassem Youssef as he faces intimidation from the Mursi government.

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. However, the Miami Herald said Washington has issued special licenses for

The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
