Big ObamaCare setback: Little-noticed court ruling lets church challenges proceed

| Here´s an update on the nationwide legal challenges to ObamaCare by religious institutions that will be forced to provide insurance coverage for such things as abortion drugs, birth control and sterilizations that violate their beliefs. This story is a week old, actually. Strangely, you haven´t seen any real coverage of this development in mainstream media, perhaps because it concerns a crucial legal setback for Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius in a New York federal court.

Like it, or not, religious freedom and principles are the foundation of America. These things are protected by the Constitution.
The liberal left has been trying to end-run the Constitution for decades. Liberal legislators have passed unconstitutional laws and liberal judges have ruled in favor of them, in spite of constitutional conflicts. Liberal administrations have ignored the Constitution and taken actions in violation of it, forcing constant litigation (at taxpayers expense!)
No matter what, the Constitution must be protected. Unconstitutional laws and actions by the government must be fought every time.

Don´t celebrate just yet. Even if some "court" finds that this "administration" is in error, this "administration" will simply make a work-around to neuter the court. After all, the "administration" is filled with zealots who will not tolerate having their plans derailed. Remember that this "administration" has claimed the power to murder anyone it chooses to label a "terrorist", regardless of age, nationality, or evidence of an offense, and has done so on more than one occasion. These people play for keeps.

The Constitution doesn’t provide rules for gooberning or even defined limits on goobernment. It is merely a suggestion sheet. It complete failed this country in the 19th century and it is failing this country now. It was a bold but flawed idea. And because we accept the near Santa Claus is real delusion that it is a wonderful document, we accelerate our own ruin. The key flaw is that men of honor would rise to the level of elected gooberning positions and men of honor would be appointed to various judgeships. The flaw is that honor (sacred to those that sign this worthless parchment) assumed that our country would be wise enough to prevent the con artist, liars and cheats that now infest goobernment like the plague from rising to leadership positions. Those men never saw Naci Piglosi coming. It was a noble experiment and it is coming to a rapid end. C’est la vie!

I´ve always said that Obambi, Holder, and Sebelius bought knives to a gun-fight when they started messing with the Catholic Church.
They may think they have ´the gubb-mint´ and its powers on their side, but the CC has beaten down far better rulers than those Three Stooges.

The dems lsm is too busy filling their reports with fabricated poll results to influence & intemidate rather than to focus on pesky details & facts such as this.
The current theatrical statist media is so corrupted with sifted & scripted PC propaganda that it thus cannot be relied upon for authentic, ´´news,´´ reporting! Liberty in the U.S.A. needs more responsible media outlets & venues which can prove their accuracy in regularly reporting the facts regarding ALL of the current issues vital to the American people!!! The current dem gang just isn´t cutting the mustard!

It´s a good thing this column is available online, so that residents of Memphis, New Orleans and Riverside, California can learn how unsafe their city is without having to venture outside. Those are the bottom three metropolitan areas where residents said they felt least safe walking alone at night in their neighborhood. From the safety of their little work cubicles somewhere, the number gnomes over at the Gallup organization have been accumulating data on perceived human well-being as part of their polling calls on many subjects. From that data comes the 50 most and least safe cities.

From up here, 240 miles above Broadway, New York City can look like a pretty nice place. No traffic. No garbage. No smells. No crime. And no nanny Napoleons issuing edicts over spices, soft drinks and cups. This post-midnight photo was taken the other day by the crew of the International Space Station zipping overhead and around the world every 90 minutes at 17,000 miles an hour.

Hi I’m Kansas Governor Sam Brownback. A week ago nearly a third of the world’s population celebrated Easter, the resurrection of Jesus. New life. Well, we need new life in our nation and economy. Washington is broke. Big spending programs are running out of money and change is coming. The ideas on how to fix the federal government are now percolating in the states, 30 of which are led by Republican governors. You see, you don’t change America by changing Washington. With video.

Hi, everybody. Our top priority as a nation, and my top priority as President, must be doing everything we can to reignite the engine of America’s growth: a rising, thriving middle class. That’s our North Star. That must drive every decision we make. Now, yesterday, we learned that our businesses created 95,000 new jobs last month. That’s about 500,000 new jobs this year, and nearly 6.5 million new jobs over the past three years. But we’ve got more work to do.

In a swift and strange reversal, Obama administration officials Thursday rushed to play down their own recent announcements of defensive U.S. military movements in response to threats and provocations from North Korea. The hereditary Communist dictatorship of the Kim family that took over the North after World War II has always been quirky, unpredictable and, well, mentally unbalanced by any modern governing standards. The country would be cinematically comical and worthy of a Peter Sellers role were the rogue regime not actively developing nuclear weapons and long-distance missiles to deliver or orbit them.

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz has called for the complete legislative repeal of ObamaCare and its replacement by comprehensive healthcare reforms that actually increase patient choice, decrease the role of government bureaucrats and disconnect health insurance from employment. "If you lose your job," Cruz said, "you don´t lose your house, life or car insurance. They go with you wherever you go." It should be the same for health insurance. In a wide-ranging exclusive interview with IBD´s weekly M&M podcast, the Texas freshman said, "Our first priority is repealing ObamaCare and repealing it in its entirety.”

Remember how since-demoted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said we´d have to pass the massive ObamaCare health law to find out what´s in it? Well, now three years later that´s happening and a lot of people are not liking what they see. Remember how ObamaCare was going to save you money? Not going to happen. Premiums are going up, some by as much as 100%. And a new study by the nonpartisan Society of Actuaries finds that on average insurers will have to pay 32% more for claims under ObamaCare.

Hello, I’m Congressman Lee Terry from the state of Nebraska’s Second District. Republicans in Congress are focused on creating jobs and improving the cost of living in America. We’ve held the line against tax increases and passed a balanced budget, and forced the Democratic-run Senate to approve its first budget in four years. (Scroll to bottom for full video of these remarks.) There’s something else we need to do, and that’s take on the high energy bills many families and small business are up against.

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this is a special and sacred time of year. This week, Jewish families gathered around the Seder table, commemorating the Exodus from Egypt and the triumph of faith over oppression. And this weekend, Michelle, Malia, Sasha and I will join Christians around the world to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hopeful promise of Easter. [Snip] As Christians, my family and I remember the incredible sacrifice Jesus made for each and every one of us.

Like many holidays, Easter is often associated with family memories. For me, Easter is associated with the memory of other families. It was 1975 just before Easter. The Vietnam war was ending ignominiously, with President Ford promising full American support right up through the time we left thousands of South Vietnamese sympathizers behind to confront new Communist rulers. Or risk death at sea as desperate boat people. Thanks to a tip from intelligence sources that the end of South Vietnam was near, my news employer had arranged to evacuate its two local Vietnamese interpreters and their extended families to Guam.

The report cited United Kingdom diplomats, saying Pyongyang was demanding the U.S. president personally call Kim Jong-un as one of the conditions to relieve the current conflict at hand. Itar-Tass also quoted the U.K.’s Sky News as saying North Korea currently has eight nuclear warheads.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Los Angeles — Some people have had it with TV. They´ve had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don´t like timing their lives around network show schedules. They´re tired of $100-plus monthly bills. A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don´t even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
