NBC Editor Denounces
“Religious” Part of Christmas

Fox News, by Todd Starnes

NBC’s medical editor denounced the religious part of Christmas during a panel discussion about the holiday on Today. (Snip) “I don’t like the religion part,” said Nancy Snyderman, the network’s chief medical editor. “I think religion is what mucks the whole thing up.” The “religion” she was referring to is celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. The outburst came during a panel discussion with Matt Lauer, Star Jones and Donny Deutsch. Her response came after Jones said she focuses on the religious meaning of Christmas. “That’s the only reason why — that’s the only reason

Comments:
You know it´s bad when even the libs sitting on the panel with her were shocked. It is incredible how emboldened these sick people are. If she had any sense she would apologize for her offensive statement. You can bet if she said anything like that about Muslims NBC would be breaking their necks apologizing.

Right on, Star, that is what Christmas is all about in the first place! With out Christ, how can you have Christmas!?

I keep wondering when Americans are going to wise up and ask themselves exactly why they are running around spending money for a holiday fewer and fewer people understand or appreciate. What is it that they think they are doing? Why are they bothering to do it? Does a plain vanilla generic "holiday season" really warrant such trouble and expense? Especially when they are increasingly unable to agree upon what the holiday is for or what they are supposedly celebrating. An unthinking orgy of reckless consumerism lubricated by deliberately vague and inoffensive sentimentality leaves little in its wake but the hangover of needless debt.

Snyderman´s comment is not as dumb as it sounds. "The religious part" of Christmas HAS become confusing, conflicted, and bothersome. It fosters ill will, accentuates political and cultural divisions, irritates the atheists and annoys a lot of people for a lot of reasons. We might as well get rid of what remains of it and then get rid of Christmas entirely. Take out the religion that seems to offend so many people and there is really nothing left.

Halloween seems to be moving up in importance lately. There is something fitting about this and the possibility that Halloween, not Christmas, may soon become America´s only true national holiday.

So many people celebrate the shopping season - not the birth of the Savior. I think Christians should stop shopping and start worshipping, praying and spending time with one another. There is no meaning to this holiday any longer. Like the above poster said, Halloween has more significance than Christmas nowadays.

She´s confused as to why Mary didn´t have an abortion, what with the unwanted holy conception and all.

I´ll admit her statement caught me off guard. People say ´Happy Holidays´ because you really don´t know whether they´re Christian or Jewish.

I had a Jewish friend in college and I asked him how his Christmas was upon returning from break. He looked at me and reminded me he was Jewish. I was embarrassed. We both laughed and I asked how was his Hanukkah. He then asked me how was my Christmas.

Since then I´ve tried to discern between the two when I speak to people simply out of respect, but end up saying Merry Christmas to most people anyway.

Honestly, Christmas is not even the major holiday for Christians. That would be Easter. For a child, the secular part of Christmas is magic and a fond memory, but unless one comprehends the real reason for the season in adulthood, and that becomes their focus, they cannot comprehend the peace and joy that Christmas brings to those who believe. If I never get another gift, I will still celebrate Christmas.

She wants all to know that she has "evolved" to a higher level, that the idea of God can be set aside, and in her heart of hearts, she is god, since there is no other. So it´s pride again; just like Satan to rope-a-dope the vain and gullible. Works every time with the unsaved. Nobody is watching? do what ever, for what ever. Nancy Synderman, MD. What a shameful woman; what a contemptible thing to say but why is anyone working for NBC who says this stuff a surprise? If anyone wants to see contemptible, watch Big Moo taking us on the White House "Joy" tour. Never one time did she use the word Christmas or in any way refer to Christianity. Her nebulous—and as stupid as she is—goal is, she said, "Joy to All." Way to go you dumb boor. This ugly woman is nothing more than an angry amazon buff armed slob who is too busy vacationing and trying to look acceptable that she no longer even tries to cover up having sold her soul. She shames America when she opens her eyes in the morning.

National security should serve policy objectives. It should not be a victim of political correctness. Politics should be kept especially far away from the practice of intelligence. Today´s decision by the NYPD to close the unit that was mapping Muslim communities in New York is very likely a product of political pressure. It is a decision that will make the city targeted in the largest terrorist attack in modern history less safe. How do you ensure that you won’t be ostracized, denounced, or fired if you are a media celebrity, captain of industry, or high public official? For some, sexist banter is certainly no problem. Stand-up comedian Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a c–t and a tw-t, but suffered no ill consequences. Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

Hank Aaron’s recent comments about the need for America to realize that racism is still very much alive and thriving — only now due to those who wear “neckties and starched shirts” rather than KKK hoods — has sparked an angry backlash and many fans are turning the tables, calling the baseball legend himself a racist. “Hank Aaron is a s*****g piece of [expletive] [racial slur],” one man said in an email to the Atlanta Braves’ front office, one of the teams Mr. Aaron used to play for, CBS News reported. “My old man instilled in my mind from a

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it

Funny question in the headline, yes? But since President Obama worries more about the threat of terrorists´ improvised nuclear device going off in a major American city than anything Russia can throw at us, I was wondering if the government had deigned to share with us citizens any tips for, you know, surviving something their own intelligence points to as the likeliest unlikely Black Swan event. Well, no. And yes. No — very few people in Washington, D.C., who work for the government have any idea what they would do if a 10-kiloton nuclear device exploded at the intersection of 16th and K
